For now, Polkadot seems to be a better technology than Ethereum but the issue is that the two is too aligned, there is no way Polkadot succeeded at the scale of Ethereum that Ethereum won't lose its appeal to developers. Ethereum is still enjoying its first mover advantage for now but if the Ethereum 2.0 migration becomes successful then this is the end for all Ethereum competitors. I want to see developers being incentivize to build on other chains
Polkadot offers better scalability than the ethereum blockchain. It offers relay chain, cross-blockchain features, forkless network, decentralized governance and all these are not available in the ethereum network. Actually, Polkadot offers all the solutions to those problems that the ethereum network can not. So many projects are using the Polkadot network. Do you think Polkadot is really Ethreum killer?
Indeed Polkadot is one promising interoperability project. Like ethereum, it intends to add more superior Blockchain projects, perhaps. considering that one of the core ethereum teams is supporting the Polkadot project. However, it can't be denied that ethereum plays an important role for many Blockchain projects that use Ethereum smart contracts, obviously there will be tough competition between polkaDot and Ethereum in progress and development
Hmmmmm...... The chances of polkadot taking ethereum place is very small and the reason is that ethereum has gain enough ground, so comparing ethereum with a new project is not so good. Polkadot is a new project that can fuck up anytime.

A lot of new chain networks are being created aside from eth, we now have the polkadot and binance smart chain. These two are the biggest competitors of ETH now, but they are new and most of the projects now are still using eth rather than creating new chain using polkadot nor bsc. If polkadot can show its pitch and many projects will use this to create smart chain maybe it can replace the congested eth network and also a chain having a big fees, let's see I still believe in polkadot and bsc as well. I know an exchange who uses these three. So I can say from personal experience that Polkadot will never be able to replace Ethereum.

All that quirks and features goes to waste if no one using it. Although polkadot market cap can be considered big but to take the place of ethereum it needs the acceptance ethereum has to the point where using erc20 is the norm among many new projects which Polkadot has yet to achieve that.

Polkadot is new I don't think this will be the eth killer even they offer better than ethereum. There were many altcoin project trying to down ethereum like EOS but till now nothing happens. Let's just give a year or two for polkadot to take place ethereum because it is really new but I bet it will not happen.

There are already quite a number of projects that have confidence in dealing with Ethereum, but until now, even a project like BNB has not been able to beat ethereum. Well, maybe anything can happen in the cryptocurrency world, but I think it's too soon to draw such a conclusion.
many have promised to replace Ethereum so they can attract investors. but in reality at this time the project that was rumored to be inferior to ethereum and not yet capable. so it is a basic speculation issue to just get investors and raise money

Agreed. From what I have learned about Polkadot they actually solve a real problem and allow cross chain transfers of tokens. That's the problem we are trying to replace projects while the approach should be to look at them as options and alternatives. I mean DOT has it's own qualities while we must never forget who gave us the smart contracts and everything, it was indeed Ethereum.

Polkadot has just entered the market and gained the number 8th spot which is impressive. Ethereum on the other hand has been for many years and is on the number 2 spot in coinmarketcap.
I don't think in the short term Polkadot can be at the place of Ethereum but it does have the potential to be the next ethereum.
Polkadot need to incentivize developers to start working on their blockchain, if you think because your technology is good that means people would come then you are deceiving yourself, this is the mistake made by Tezos team and developers seems not to be interested to develop anything on the chain. Solano and Serum is a good move, and Polkadot need their own huge Dapps

^ your comparison is very good between newcomer and old man. 
More specifically, from a usage point of view, Ethereum demand is still increasing in the market despite the volatile gas fees. Ethereum can't be swept away by Polkadot which still doesn't have a real & good market demand.

I don't see Polkadot taking over ethereum anytime soon, ethereum will surely maintain its position on because in no ways can ethereum be compared to Polkadot.
It's too much if polka dots will kill ethereum, I think there are a lot of issues like this, like TRON. but unable to deal with ethereum. so this won't happen
with so many competitors who will kill ETH, but ETH still survives with all its shortcomings,

thats right, a lot of project want to kill ethereum but tha fact they can't, because as we can see ethereum still stand as the king of altcoins until now
and today ethereum getting stronger, because the price is growing really hard
