There are many Ethereum competitors and more are still coming but the public will still choose and use Ethereum over them because Ethereum is the first, there are many bitcoin killer in crypto space today but still bitcoin is standing over them, the answer is very straight forward
I don't think so. You can see how much money is locked on ethereum defi while polka defi was only getting the hype from the launch of polka para chain. People were not using polka defi.
Ethereum has different advantages compared with polka. Link is much more popular than polka
There were some old projects that declared to be ethereum killers like EOS and TRON or even ETC
Anything is possible but don't forget that even if Polkadot do better than ethereum it's still not on Polkadot to take over ethereum, developers who likes using smart contract to run their projects are the ones who will decide, if Polkadot becomes more favorable than ethereum then it's a big possibility
Polkadot offers better scalability than the ethereum blockchain. It offers relay chain, cross-blockchain features, forkless network, decentralized governance and all these are not available in the ethereum network. Actually, Polkadot offers all the solutions to those problems that the ethereum network can not. So many projects are using the Polkadot network. Do you think Polkadot is really Ethreum killer?
