Liverpool are two wins away from winning the Premier League for the first time in their history (and win the top tier for the first time in 30 years) so they would want to play it out.
The new season for 2020/21 starts in the first week of August. Keeping in mind the fixture list for each and every season I am totally against starting the next season late but I reluctantly prefer extending this season to finish the games as a final option. Is there going to be enough time between the Premier League and FA giving the go-ahead for fixtures to start and then players being fit enough to actually play those games?
One sensible option might be to find a way to allow games to be played behind closed doors with no spectators but that would mean heavy testing and monitoring of players, coaches and all employees to ensure they are free of coronavirus. Right now it seems along way away.
Just off the top of my head - Liverpool, Leicester, Sheff Utd, Man Utd, Wolves all have vested interests in completing this season plus Leeds & West Brom in the league below would be beyond upset at not getting promoted.
