As far as I know, neither job pays very well. There was a show I watched about airplane repos, which actually does pay fairly well, but it's risky.

Flying is very expensive and so is the training, which might be something you want to consider.

I asked a friend of mine who coincidentally worked as a computer engineer for an airline. He says, "pilots get all the pu$$ah and computer engineers just masturbate their life away." lol.

Flying for an airline would also keep you from having any kind of stable home life, but if you're young and don't care about that, the perk is that you get to travel the world. Not that you'll be able to really enjoy it, since you'll be working most of the time, I imagine.

I've seen a few audio/visual companies (not exactly/strictly computer engineering, so I'm not sure if this really applies) and I must say their work atmosphere seems pretty laid back. The employees ate gourmet snacks and drank beer after 5pm, all supplied by the company. They were even allowed to play console games.

I suppose if you research your options with due diligence on your own you'll no doubt figure out what's best for you.

You won't die when the computer * crashes *.

LOL! Good point. It's seriously something to consider, especially if you plan on flying for Malaysia Airlines.  Tongue

What do you mean about this?
"pilots get all the pu$$ah and computer engineers just masturbate their life away."
Does it mean that i cant get a wife if im a computer engineer? :O
I dont want to masturbate till the end of my life Sad

Good one!!

I would advise the OP to follow his heart.
If flying excites him, he would be much better off becoming a pilot than sitting in a place and coding.

Personally I would choose pilot because I see computer engineering as an easier thing to have as a hobby. Really it all comes down on what you like to do best. You shouldn't listen to us, listen to yourself.

The job of an aircraft pilot is really demanding even if you are not taking up the military path to an aircraft driver career. You must be excellent in maths, physics, english (if you're not a native speaker of it) since you need to know the response of the plane to your commands and anticipate it. If you cannot afford the bill to do the civvy path to become an airline pilot, I suggest trying to enroll in your country Air Force, Naval or Army Aviation to acquire enough qualification & flight time (at taxpayer expenses) before a transition at later time in to a civvy career as an airline pilot.
If you really like it you must take a try...but never put your eggs in only one basket; so, as I said before, don't waste away any opportunity and continue to learn useful skills also for a computer engineer. You never know how a skill can become useful in an unexpected field.

what do you mean by 'better'?

better paying?
better freedom?
better opportunities?

Better should be OP's personal opinion based on his preferences, skills, likes, etc.

 Cool

We dont have a Air force thing here in Philippines that will practice you for free or less, hehehehe  Cheesy

Computer engineering

Sure being a Pilot looks nice but it is eventually highly boring, you have bad working hours and sometimes have to spent the rest of your day in a hotel...Also, and this is my prediction, i kinda believe that pilots will not be required to fly a plane in 10 years to 20 years max. After all most disasters were because of a human error and computers are almost getting to the point where they can fly a plane.

Edit: So who knows, by studying computer engineering you may able to fly a plane soon Tongue

I think airline pilot would be more exciting and you could know many new people... and if you choose this job it doesn't exclude you can code in the free time.
Have fun!  Wink

Hi!
Sorry for the late reply,
for me i think i will get the Computer Engineering because of high salaries, but its not an easy job tho..

based on my research, Airline Pilot (might/maybe) sucks nowadays, because you almost spend half of your life flying than enjoying your earned money, and its the worst job if you have a WIFE, because we don't know that your wife will marry a guy secretly while you are doing your job as a pilot, you know what im talking right? and also you need get high amount of flying hours so you can drive larger commercial planes and get high salaries. and the last, is it true that if you just started working as a pilot you got low salaries? like $15,000 to $30,000 a year?

are my research is right?

I have 4days left to decide, Please if you have a spare time, please quote me here, i will very appreciate all your helps

Thanks advance for the help guys
and
God Bless!!!!!

If you do well as a computer engineer you'll be able to afford to have your own plane and fly whenever you want, rather than having to stick to a flight schedule.
Also, successful people with a private pilots license are way cooler than airline pilots.

A Great Time to Start Something!
Keep learning, and also have some fun while you are young. There is plenty of time to decide later.
