It doesn't bother me that we don't know his true identity, it's upto him if he wants to remain anonymous.
He deserves anonymity, it's at his discretion.
We don't really need to know who he really is, it wouldn't benefit us at all to know.
Plus I kind of like the mystery around it, it's kinda cool.
The guy deserves to be left alone.

Yeah that's make sense, he even made a Cryptocurreny that totally anonymous. Then why should we (the users) know who is he, we all are anonymous Bitcoin user Smiley

Yes, I think Satoshi is not a person. Satoshi is a group with have superior brains and i want to meet with them.

This is a list of my favorite people.

1. Albert Einstein
2. Nikola Tesla
3. Satoshi Nakamoto

Smiley

Nice list you got there.
And obviously it is people you cannot and will not ever meet with (with the exemption of Satoshi who is still with the living as far as we know, but still probably impossible).

It is absolutely very much important for everyone to know who Satoshi is... I know he made Bitcoin to let everyone remain anonymous, but who doesn't want to know such an innovative face behind an awesome technology???

Satoshi himself is the existent of Bitcoins, so as Bitcoins has a symbol, Satoshi must also be possessing a face which everyone would like to see... Wink

LOL!
Sorry to say this but:

What would you think if someone tried to sell you something that keeps you anonymous and they are not anonymous?
So, being anonymous obviously helps with the promotion, right?  Wink

Over the years there has been a lot of speculation regarding the identity of Satoshi.
(The most recent being that Satoshi is Tupac Shakur  Shocked Shocked Shocked )

So, does it really matter to you who Satoshi is?
And why?

It does matter. History should record his real name on the book. This technology and invention has changed alot of things in life, I dont see why not about this. I think that everyone needs to know who he is and he should get all the fame and respect for creating bitcoin

I couldn't agree with you more.
However, I am sure that there is a reason he/she/they did not step up to claim their fame for their work.

The reason will be security. He invented things that will change the world economy. Fortunately now, most goverment is ignoring bitcoin because they think that it is harmless for them but once they know about the real threat than Im sure they will be looking for satoshi. This could be why he is hiding his identity

I am pretty sure they know that Bitcoin is threatening their current system.
After all, why all the (exaggerated) bad news in the media?

The bad news in media could be from the goverment or it could be really a bad news about bitcoin. Most people dont know about bitcoin, this makes the news media always make bad news about it so they get attention for their news and that mostly people use bitcoin for bad things such as drug purchase, money launder and other things. This must be the reason satoshi want to stay away or else he will be blame for his creation

The only reason to feel the need to know to me is that id like to know who potentially has access to the alleged 1 million btc Satoshi has accumulated in the past.

Although, from a company perspective, owning less than 10% of stock is not too bad Wink

That is indeed a good question of which perhaps we will also not learn the answer to.
As it has been said many times before, those coins should be considered burned because if even one satoshi moves from those coins then a Bitcoin crash should be expected.

I believe that it only matters to those that are not technical, meaning those who do not understand anything by studying the open source code.

Those who understand the code and the technology would only like to know who Satoshi is to thank them.
But that is not necessary for them to know who Satoshi is.

Satoshi choose to keep anonymous, that means it real doesn't matter who is him.
He has left for 4 years and bitcoin developed very well.

Satoshi indeed chose to be anonymous and we should respect that (or at least try to),
but, it does matter to some, some governments for example.

Perhaps someday we would be better off knowing who the creator is
That said the mythos the creator possesses is quite large in the entity known as Satoshi but it is a mystery that I would also like to know the answer to someday.

Same here, hopefully before I die  Tongue
But once again, i am afraid that will not happen because it will endanger their life.

i voted to yes as i think that is most important know about this genius person who is that Satoshi because this person deserve for Noble Prize in Economics for change the whole banking sector with this amazing and revolutionary currency who will be the next generation of fiat.

No.
It will be a new kind of currency on it's own, because:

Quote
Fiat money is currency which derives its value from government regulation or law.

Bitcoin is not regulated.
At least not yet  Tongue

no it doesn't matter who is Satoshi because i don't think Satoshi was a person it was a code name or group of scientist, who worked in a group to create that amazing crypto currency so it doesn't matter who is behind this innovation.

That's what I thought until I read his posts on the forum.
It's kind of hard to believe that it is more than one person.
His posts are very consistent and at times you can almost feel it is just one person.

But then again I could be wrong.

I remember reading an article that pointed out Satoshi owns a lot of BTC. If these BTC are dumped, the market may not be able to stand up again, both from the dump and from the theory that the 'creator' has lost his faith. Who will hold his Bitcoin when the creator dumps ?? The article concluded that knowing this creator's intentions is very important for investors pouring money into BTC.

That is quite true.
Many "deep pockets" are skeptical if to invest in Bitcoin (in whatever way) or not because of that.

Yes, because if it was created by the government, then I am sure many people would wonder why.
There are so many stupid theories to satoshi.

Here is one:

SATOSHI
5470541

5 - Five words in this sentence

4 - 4 x 4 = 16,       6 - 1 = 5,    the previous number. Coincidence? I think not.

7 - SEVEN has 5 letters in it. Letters are enclosed in envelopes. Envelopes have addresses written on them. Bitcoin has addresses.

0 = Nothing. The government thinks nothing of bitcoin

5 - Five is the fifth number, numbers is a crappy Apple Inc. ripoff of Microsoft Excel. Bitcoin was created to excel. Oh come on, these can't just be coincidences, can they?

4 - Four, for    There are two different fours. Two, to, too   There are 3 different twos. 4x3x2=24 |  2x4 = 8 | 8^four = 4096 | 4096 is made of four numbers.

I - 1 is a prime number and it also isn't a prime number. Therefore it is in a superposition. Atoms are in superpositions in Quantum computers. Quantum computers are thought to break bitcoin.

Come on guys the answers are staring at us in the face!! These cannot be coincidences, can they?

Interesting input.....
What have you taken before you posted this?
It must be really good  Cheesy

I don't think it matters. For historical reasons Satoshi is good enough, and this way a myth will be created which will in turn give additional publicity to BTC. One day I think it will be known who he/she was but even if it doesn't happen it's not important.

Some might argue with that saying: How can Bitcoin be a global currency if we don't know who invented it and for what purpose.
