I don't consider myself an "old timer" but I've been on this forum since Novemeber of 2014, and am fairly active in the altcoin section. I do think that the function of altcoins nowadays is different in the past. Back in the day, the focus was on building a "better Bitcoin", now altcoins seek to establish themselves as their own, distinct products and systems.

The only real-world usage of crypto, apart from greater fool games and other forms of gambling/speculating/"investing".   I could add something else, but I don't want 3-letter agencies on my back for telling the truth.

One key reason i stopped trading is because i notice far too much shenanigans from exchanges.
The stability and security and reliability of using them to ARB etc was shot and pissed on.
Years ago it got the the point where it was pretty much pointless.
Who the fuck knows when your coins will show up or what the owner of the exchange is doing with your coins while the pump is running.
Congrats your coins just showed up... the pump ended 8 hrs ago

ICOs now are like auctions you fight for old 30year car and blindly bid 10BTC. Old car still will be old car and just because you have paid 10m$ for it that won’t make it worth 10m$.

People don’t use brain they believe in “long hold” altcoin announces have like 9000+ topics so ?
And we now have like 20-30 working projects with active devs, where 50% of those devs are active just because of current altcoin bubble, and they want squeeze people from $$$

Now ETH when I go and see people who are saying that they have went into like 90% or 100% and this is majority I know that end is soon.

Most dividend paying projects abandon dividend because of high fees. Like 0.15$ per transaction.
People from Brave browser token want pay people cents for watching commercials but how the fuck it will be possible with fees like ~`0.1$
The end will be that most those ICOs will create own datacenters to manage most actions while on main ETH chain we will have just colored coins.

I think leaving at this point would be idiotic. I have waited for years to get to where I am and if I leave now than I would have some money to show for it, nothing huge, nothing that says “lets get a winter house and a summer house” type of money, it is more like “lets pay the bills this year with these” type of money, I will wait until all of this gets stupidly high and than sell.
