every day send ticket support, but no realy answer..only BOT answer.

two day ago recieved stupid answer:

hello
I am sorry for the delay, I have locked your Poloniex account and I have reasons to believe your email address is compromised, please change its password and enable 2FA security on your email provider immediately, the attacker may be able to see this and try to lock you out, please act fast.

Make sure there are no remote assistance software enabled on your computer like Team View or VNC.

Once your email account is secured reply to this message and we will proceed.

Best regards,

Johnny Garcia

They finally contacted me. My account is unlocked.

What did they say about the delay in processing your request? What was the lead time before they resolve your issue?

They didn't say anything about the delay. They just told me that they are acting in my interest and they pay attention to save my funds. After they contacted me, it just took 20-30 minutes to unlock my account. At first, they gave me the access to my account but only for reentering my personal informations [I couldn't trade] ; it was for controlling my IP and the fact that I was the real owner of the account. After having written my personal informations, they asked me to activate the 2FA security. So I did it and then they completely unlocked my account.

Always, ALWAYS activate 2FA.  I cannot stress this enough.  We are dealing with money here, no matter how big or small, part of the responsibility rests on our shoulders.  We are dealing in crypto to somehow move funds around online without banks.  Everything is all under our control.  It's really liberating.  But this comes with its short comings also...  So we need to protect ourselves.

2FA makes it really hard for hackers to get in your account.  So everyone be sure to turn it on to avoid any problems like OP's.  I personally have a 2FA app installed in an old ipod touch which I never ever use to go online.

Yes, I learned it now^^. Fortunately, I didn't lose anything. My funds are there.

[...] Poloniex really is one of the best out there.  I never had any problems with them.  I highly recommend them for ETH trading as the volume and liquidity are good.

I agree. I think I will keep using their service. They are really great. If they took time with my case, it is maybe because they didn't want to take the risk to give the access to my account to the eventual hacker. They were probably waiting to verify if an another person woundn't eventually request the ownership of the account...

I just regret that they were not answering to my questions for days.

Someone from Russia (apparently) has found a way to steal the password of my poloniex account. Fortunately, I received an email from poloniex saying that an unknown address IP accessed my account and it suggested me to freeze it.

So I froze my account and then I opened a support ticket for that problem. Some minutes later a member ot the staff announced me that he will send me a new password to connect to my account but only after I "protected my email address with 2FA security". I responded just six minutes later that my gmail address was ok.

But the staff didn't send me the new password. It makes almost two days now and they are not answering to my questions for 1 day now. I wanted to sell some altcoins earlier, but with that problem I lost about 300$ because the alt I wanted to sell went down during this time...

Did you have similar problems with poloniex ? Is it normal that they are taking so much time for this ? Someone hacked my account, they should be a little bit more reactiv for theses kind of circumstances...

I think poloneix is one of the best exchange on the internet , I use it from long time without any problem .
For passwords problem , I suggest to use multi passwords with a relationship between them , that will help you to remember all passwords easily , but for sure I am using unique e-mails and passwords where I have money like poloenix and blockchain and others .....

The same thing happened with me but luckily i got saved as i only used to mine some altcoins like bytecoins and pretty much more and their value is less than 100 satoshis.  Tongue.. As you said in the main OP i also received a successfull login email from poloniex with Ip address from Russia. I will be providing more details with screenshot soon.

Though I am secured now as i have enabled 2FA
thats remind me when i got bruteforced by someone in my poloniex account,a mail which contain a confirmation link always popping up in my email until i changed my password,i wonder where he got my email from but gratefully i have different password for every site

If you used that email address on MtGox, Mintpal, Cryptsy or bitcointalk, then it  is on a list somewhere being traded. Your only protection is making your passwords completely different and 16 characters long.
but sometimes i'm thinking when the hacker dumping a website and my data was there, even ultra hard password is useless because they simply know it from the database nor bruteforce, maybe 2 factor authentication is the safest one

Never had any problems of that sort with Poloniex. I have used them for many trades and exchanges as well as loans, and they have always come through. They have one of the best reputations as well in the crypto world.

Probably just some unexpected delays on their end. Ask for compensation, and you might receive it. After all it's not really your fault for this long wait.

you can trying at chat room, using your new account (similliar name) just to ask the mod for responds your ticket.

I just did that. The moderator told me that I have to open a support ticket. So I informed him that I already contacted the support team without having an answer for 4-5 days [soon 6 days]... But now even the moderator ignores me...

EDIT : I just saw an other person that was complaining in the trollbox about the fact that the support is not responding to him for weeks about a request to raise his withdrawal limit. The poloniex support seems to be very bad...

Is this an isolated case of poloniex problem? Are they reliable in general?

It s not about his pass, I m sure he s fixed that. It s about Polo not reactivating his account. Any news?

No news... They are not responding. I really don't know what to do.

This happened with me because I signed up on many sites with the same password. Used the same password for faucets, exchanges, PTCs, e-mail...
Luckly I changed the e-mail password fast and the hacker didn't steal it, so I freezed my Poloniex account (the hacker didn't change my password there on the exchange).

So I logged there later and changed my Poloniex password by myself, never had any problem after that. But now I use one password for each different site.

The same password for lots of websites?Huh? Wtf? Why? Are you 90 and cant remember 5 passwords?

I just didn't think about the risk. I didn't think anyone would steal my password.

Now I need to write all passwords on a notebook, because there is a lot.
Sometimes it will happen that you can remember the password even you are always using it before. its a kind mental block..
But you can still save your password to a safe places like in your computer i just put my notepads password in my drive D..
Also just dont use the same password with your email.. i'm already experience hacking my account but his not successful to hack my account because i was register in unknown site using other password.. i was receive in my email someone from uk are trying to access my account in other site most of them in perfectmoney business partner they are tartgeting it because they can convert usd to bitcoin easily....
