It makes almost 5 days now that they are not treating my problem. They just need to send me a new password... It should take max 2 days to do such an easy action, shouldn't it ? I have many btc blocked there...

Sorry for your loss, but i hope poloneix support will send you email within this week. It is always advisable not to use same password everywhere as in some website login / registration form the password you enter aren't hashed before saving to site database so they can be viewed by the site owner and he may try login into different online accounts of yours with your given email and pass combination.

Use strong password, long one, unique one in the exchangers, wallets etc.

Thanks for the answer. I always chose unique passwords for my email addresses and for every website account in which I have money. So no problem for this aspect.

I just regret the fact that the poloniex support is not reacting to my ticket as fast as I would have liked... It is really embarrassing to wait like that, especially during a time when the market is going crazy...  Cry

This happened with me because I signed up on many sites with the same password. Used the same password for faucets, exchanges, PTCs, e-mail...
Luckly I changed the e-mail password fast and the hacker didn't steal it, so I freezed my Poloniex account (the hacker didn't change my password there on the exchange).

So I logged there later and changed my Poloniex password by myself, never had any problem after that. But now I use one password for each different site.

please use some service for you passwords. like lastpass for example.
Creates passwords in your choosen settings, stores them safe and can also autofill and login to 99% of all websites.
also tells you, if you use the same pass on other sides  Wink

The same password for lots of websites?Huh? Wtf? Why? Are you 90 and cant remember 5 passwords?

I just didn't think about the risk. I didn't think anyone would steal my password.

Now I need to write all passwords on a notebook, because there is a lot.

Someone from Russia (apparently) has found a way to steal the password of my poloniex account. Fortunately, I received an email from poloniex saying that an unknown address IP accessed my account and it suggested me to freeze it.

So I froze my account and then I opened a support ticket for that problem. Some minutes later a member ot the staff announced me that he will send me a new password to connect to my account but only after I "protected my email address with 2FA security". I responded just six minutes later that my gmail address was ok.

But the staff didn't send me the new password. It makes almost two days now and they are not answering to my questions for 1 day now. I wanted to sell some altcoins earlier, but with that problem I lost about 300$ because the alt I wanted to sell went down during this time...

Did you have similar problems with poloniex ? Is it normal that they are taking so much time for this ? Someone hacked my account, they should be a little bit more reactiv for theses kind of circumstances...
