You people centralize trading on a single exchange and then you cry. Pethetic.

How do you know this?

Maybe a lot of us dont have Ripple on poloniex at all, maybe we do
along with some on Bittrex, Kraken also . . .

but i personally am intrigued by the sharp rise followed by the exchange
shutting down temporarily and then switched back on to find that the
value of said currency had fallen through the floor,

I love a good conspiracy theory  Wink

ive moved to Bittrex.

Second that.  I'm done with polo.  They'll Gox soon.

Why would they do that?
There has to be massive funds generated on that exchange for that exchange
from all the transactions from all the currencies.

Because why not? This happened for the 3rd time, first it was with LTC when started to sky rocket, then with XRP, and now with STR.

I meant why would they "Gox" as in call a halt to withdrawals
stop uses from withdrawing funds like what Mt.Gox did back in 213/2014.

I know they can do what they like. hey, we are dealing with decentralised
and unregulated exchanges. Look at their currency value listings they
are generally higher than any other exchange.

Yes it's funny how "suddenly" Polo started to lag out after that huge pump. If there's no polo issues the XRP would've skyrocketed even more by letting more noobs to buy. The only people that made profit from all of this madness was people that had bots running and Polo of course, because when you trade with bots there's no lag. Or the people who used the mobile version on their phones (like I do). Because if you switch to desktop version on your phone it will start lagging like you are on your computer but it's a tiny bit better. So mobile version is definitely a go if you don't have a trading bot. So that's how sometimes is really handy to have one of those trading bots. It can scoop up huge profit for you while everyone else is struggling and trying to sell their coins at top price.

Same thing happened with LTC I can't actually remember the right date as I don't want to throw random information. But yeah, same thing with LTC, bull trap started and unexpected things happened. A lot of noobs started diving into LTC, huge amounts of LTC buy orders filling like crazy and right at that point when it had huuuuge buy support and started to even tripple, Polo "suddenly" started to lag out and after it settle again like everything back to normal so people can start buy/sell the price was where the bulls started it (back to normal) and it started to fall.

I still believe XRP will get back to its peak price but it will just take a bit more time at this point, unless more exciting news, because I know there are so many bagholders that bought at .5 and I feel so bad for them. Patience is the key  Wink

They just did the same with STR.  Mega pump, then crash.  I was lucky to not get stuck in the mess due to the mobile side still running.  I've pulled all my coins off that site.

Didn't use Poloniex for a long time but it might be insider thing. We know how they love money.

^Poloniex works out more for the longterm traders instead of the daytrader style. I agree, they should fix that lag issue ASAP.

Well I m not sure if there is any 100 % trustable exchange.

Well, is there such thing %100 trustable in the World? Remember Lehman Brothers US bank crysis. Even banks are not %100 trustable.

If there is any issue from Poloniex end then definitely they will refund your money, sometime it will happen in all the exchanges because daily there are many transactions happening big exchange like Poloniex. So server sometime cannot able to respond for heavy traffic.

Could have been a coincidence, could have been foul play. But don't hold your breath for any kind of refund.
There is no guaranteed uptime on an unregulated exchange.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone went to the lengths of a DDOS on a trading site, though.
When there is a lot of money at stake, you shouldn't be surprised that someone would use underhanded tactics to gain an advantage.

I agree and i am no bloody fan of Polo Wink
It's hard to not to suspect them sometimes because of how these things work.
They put themselves into a position that they can play around with our prying eyes.

So don't be too quick to throw shade on Poloniex guys.
Some proof is needed here on this matter and i see none. (just weak circumstantial evidence)

Slow you roll Investards and put the pitch forks down !

..actually know what ?
Fuck 'em ..i don't like Polo so never mind flame them hard guys  Grin  Cheesy  Wink

Refunds at Poloniex usually don't happen unless there's an issue on Poloniex end.
Better to just learn how to hold coins and dump when you want to dump.

I watched this lags in Polo in the last three weeks three times. Always when things getting hot, Polo starts lagging. I guess, that the technical infrastructure reached its borders. Too much users now, too much bots. First of all, they should forbid bots. After that they should renew their servers and sytems. If they do not earn enough money at the moment to buy and service technical stuff, they should rise their fees a bit. An exchange, which is unreliable in important moments, makes no sense.

But because I am anoyed now and unfortunately scared of loosing money if Polo shuts down (because of this ripple-incident and the maybe others which will follow, and the big, big lost of trust), I opened accounts at two other exchanges and transferred more than the half of my coins out of Polo....

This kind of things may happen when there is too many transactions with that asset. You can observe such similar problem even in real forex transactions.
