well its not the first time Poloniex froze
and there was a bit of a suspect power outage a few
months back when ripple started a massive jump,
power came back on and ripple had gone the other way, very fishy

I also found poloniex very slow to load at times, very annoying

anyway a few weeks back I closed all trades and moved all currencies to Bittrex.

In fact, it's already back up and anyone that panic sold on a separate exchange will get royally fucked.

Actually, it is NOT back up and there are rumors that the domain has been seized by the US government. If this is true, I have a very bad feeling Bitcoin is headed back to under $1,000.
There is no way after all of the recent drama/FUD that there can be global demand for Bitcoin... at least for a while. I predict a long-term bear market up to 3 years due to all of this.

I predict alts market share to fall further and bitcoin to raise if polo goes down..

Stop living in the past! I didn't think people still used Poloniex... when was the last time they added a new alt coin? Use Bittrex, it's 100% better.

That said, it still is scary to think how much we rely on these exchanges... if they all went down, we'd be screwed. Even if we had our altcoins stored in offline exchanges, we still wouldn't be able to cash them in.

Since they closed the trollbox, the support becamed much worse, in fact i would compare their support being worse then yobit, they are one of top exchanges and a lot people still trade there, dont know if its ddos, or some insolvence plan, but be aware, someting changed at poloniex, and no inst something good at all.
A friend mine told me there are other services with same issue, might be some server issue.

It's not seized. The whois information changes immediately when a website is seized and that is not the case here. A site seizure is also instantaneous, it doesn't cause "lag" and polo has been in and out. This is a DDOS, BCH implementation issues, or something else. The most likely case is DDOSers upset about the lack of functioning BCH implementation or with the intent to short/buy cheap on other exchanges. FUD FUD FUD.

Isnt it weird they changed their policy about suiing them and now being down as a website ? , hmmm this sounds a little weird

of course it is weird. if you do not trust poloniex anymore, move your funds away from it. there are lots of exchanges out there, better ones, like bittrex or kraken. better be safe than sorry.

Whoosh I took everything off poloniex right before August 1st happened. So glad I did. They will probably come back so don't worry but I'm happy I pulled out.

Oh well, I dodged a bullet. Beucase of the Bitcoin Cash thing, I got all of my Bitcoins back to my Bitcoin Core full node wallet. Best decision ever. Feels good to be in control of 100%.

What I was holding was not much, but it was a bit, enough to get some trading going without having to wait for transferring money into my trading account every time I saw a buying opportunity.

Decentralized exchanges can't come soon enough.

You guys are nuts, I personally know the guys over at Polo (been to their office).
This is FAR from a scam. In fact, it's already back up and anyone that panic sold on a separate exchange will get royally fucked.
Well anyway, they have some problems. They were online, but are offline again already. Just saw that they've updated their terms of use, but before I could look it up to see what they've changed, they were offline again.

Is this a BTC-e style of "down"?  or Cryptsy style?

what yall think? exit scam? seizure? or real tech problem?
Yes it's down. Can't say for sure what it's going to be, scam or real tech problem but only can hope for it to be up and back again soon. There have already been lots of people complaining of having problems in trading on polo like in deposits and withdrawals so it's really a matter of concern but let's hope for the best
