Poloniex is exchanging ETH. Anyway, they are fucked now. They own like 10% from ETH.  LOL

If ETH goes down, Poloniex is going after them too;  so, be careful where you keep your funds Grin

it seams Kraken is fucked too. they have "millions" worth of ETH
Always assume that everyone and everybody is trying to scam you, that way you will be lessen the risk of being scammed. Therefore be careful always. It is not shocking that Poloniex got hacked anything in our modern time is vulnerable to hacking.

the loss can be huge. Poloniex owns over 10% from ETH.

There is no hack and the Ethereum price is still above $10 even after the DAO hack.

Which is a small wonder in itself, that the price is still above 10.

yes, hacking will happen from time to time, such as the recent DAO attack, which can happen anywhere. So the best way to secure the money is to put theme under your control, not to put money in exchanges or any other third parties.

Poloniex is running okay for me. What's the issue here? Or is it isolated only to ETH?

Ironically, this actually might be a good example as to why you might want to keep some of your money stored on an exchange verses keeping control of the private keys. For altcoins at least.

yeah only if you want to take a very huge risk of losing your money in a very long and excruciating series of excuses made by the exchanger saying fist we have trouble with the wallet, then stop answering you, and then one day say we were hacked and meanwhile you see them running away with your money Smiley

Well ethereum goes down its not fault devs and i think the its the main reason is dao got hacked.. and now they are f#ck hard this is impossible that ethereum will recover again from that price. and i think ethereum will go back below 1mbtc .. don't expect too much in ethereum.

maybe you are right but, last month ago ethereum also down under 0.016 and rising again to 0.03 i think ethereum will reach 0.02 again.
i see some whales still trade at ethereum.

What do you mean with that?

Those coins belong to users, or do you mean they invested in Ethereum, if so why are you assuming they didn't made profit already?

10% from ETH belongs to users? they are fucked like shit. ETH will lose the value because it's hacked and there are chances to be closed Smiley

So?

Coins lose value all the time...

Why are Poloniex and Kraken fucked?

this thread is about Poloniex. Smiley  was it hacked or not?
Poloneix is oviously not hack actually eth is hacked from DAO tokens due to faulty code in spliting feature of DAO smart contracts. Polo have only stopped withdraw and deposits according to request by ethereum foundation.

ETH shouldn't of been trusted in the first place.

Just stick with Bitcoin.

Yes. Especially if the core ETH team somehow couldn't managed their venture investment funds properly, or so that's what I read in news medium.

These coins look like clowns entertaining the audience in the circus (ongoing markets).
You should remain careful these days when you know prices are being pumped ahead.

That's exactly what I am warning my friends for. The current sentiment is just a hype. If you want security makes sure to trade wise.
And remember transffering coins is never a safe thing to do.
