Polo is the most recognizable exchange with the most volume after Cryptsy is gone. Unless anyone is facing problem withdrawing their bitcoin/altcoins, it would not be fair to accuse them of scam. So far, I have not heard anybody complaining that their withdrawal is delayed and the mod is always active in the trollbox.
some people accused poloniex of market manipulations. from this market manipulations would also included tax evasion, defraud and even money laundering. all it need is 1 smart ass IRS to crack. record and snap shot daily volume, calculating the fees and make sure poloniex pay the correct amount. poloniex being cooperated with the scammer(s) chance they don't pay much tax.

Even if there is no risk of the SEC or other body shutting down Poloniex, I wouldn't recommend leaving 'much' coins in there.Most exchanges have been hacked or had some difficulties, it wouldn't be too strange is Poloniex did too.
They are turning over a LOT at the moment. People will be trying to pick their pockets somehow.

Probably made such as an excuse, Cryptsy had an excuse before that the government has something to do with the site shutting down. Well we all know that's not true though.
Yeah polo is hype now because of such volumes (mainly bots of whales) and well they will be a target (as we've seen from DDOS's and such). who know if real SEC or Gov. will examine them. But if they didn't have vol's they would be dead again and behind bittrex. At least 1ex.trade is working on V2. and bring some legitemacy to exch's soon. Just no vol's whicih sucks

When an exchange is shut down by authorities (in this case SEC), is the exchange not committed to let the user payout their coin balances?
I guess you will only lose if the exchange has some financial problems.

IANAL but if an exchange was shut down by some authority, don't you think it could take months (or longer) to get any coins out? And coins that predominantly trade on that exchange may have dramatically changed in value (for better or for worse) by the time you are able to withdraw?
