The business internet that we put in, is a dish link using a Ubiquiti M5 from one end of a town to the other and directly connected to the BT core at the exchange (uk).  We are throttled back as its shared but it doesn't fail, its amazing! We are around 80-90Mbit/sec both ways and around 19ms.  With this we managed to open up a business hub workplace and now have setup a system where I share protected internet to 15 business offices within our building  Grin

Not very good speed but hey, it's enough to do everything I need. I wouldn't have anything to do with 100Mbps Internet.
Don't know the cost of it, since I'm not the one paying for it! Tongue

There surely are a cap on those 1Gb connections? If it's uncapped and unshaped for that price, I will be seriously #$$%%% green with envy. Angry

Internet in my country, is in the dark ages.

No cap....plus I get access to Netflix super hd programming.

Here some more facts....love google fiber.

With a gig, you can:

Stream—without buffering—at least 5 high-definition videos (1080p) at the same time and still have enough bandwidth to email and surf the web.

Transfer data over the Internet faster than you can write data to a thumb drive.

Download data as fast as many computers can save the data to a hard drive.

Download an entire digital movie (14 GB) in a little under 2 minutes.

Some Internet service providers currently cap data downloads at 250 GB per month. You can download that much data on a 1 gig connection in about 33 minutes. Good thing there is no limit on your data downloads with Google Fiber!

And if having all of the speed of a Gigabit is not enough, with our Gigabit Internet plan, we also give you one terabyte of free storage space on Google Drive across Gmail, Drive, and G+ Photos. This space is equivalent to storing approximately 250,000 pictures using a 10-megapixel camera.
In Australia the best I can get for +$100 is 6mbps Sad

And google doesn't throttle that? Because with certain ISP's google was throttling bandwidth to Youtube and various sites like that. It would take you 30 minutes to watch a 5 minute video, no joke.

So I guess Google Fiber is a good thing then eh?

They do not throttle it at all.

Yes, it is a good thing.

I can't imagine where you live then, I live in the deep south where the nearest big town is about 80 miles away. This is literally in every definition the boondocks. Dish internet is really the only thing big around this place, and that's pathetic to say the least. I'll be lucky on a good day to have a stable connection to connect to.

Back home in the east (USA) for FiOS we were getting 35 up and down and there was no cap on it, I don't know if they cap it now, but I know they shape somethings (Youtube) thanks go Google.
