I never got any problems with reporting or posting time when i reporting some kind of posts and threads.
But i think thats maybe because i have done all with my hands and there is no reporting bot running here.
For sure if there is bot reporting it will be get some problems with that , but i dont know exactly .

If it makes any of you feel better, even moderators are hampered by the 4 seconds limit.

Whitelisting will work the best for you. I see LoyceV confirmed that global mods can whitelist too so try reaching out them too.
Good luck.

I can also whitelist and I see that OP is already whitelisted (either due to being manually whitelisted or due to having bought a Copper membership). Only admins can increase the allowed post reporting rate so if you can make a good case contact theymos.

But like other said, 4 seconds is very little duration. And concern is if you are trying to catch up with it means you are trying to keep your hands busy like a robot. Wanting to continue with this pace with your human hands - may end up breaking your keyboard :-D
I had identified many posts that had the same problem. I kept the report message in my clipboard and pasted the message in each report as a way to quickly report the posts.

I believe I have reported enough posts, and have contributed enough (look at my merit) to have a lower wait time.
Me too, but I don't expect it to happen. I've felt the 4 second limit for years Sad

I was using multiple tabs to report posts.
I've ran into the limit so many times. I now report in one tab, wait for it to finish loading the page, close the tab, and only then report the next tab. This makes reporting 50 posts quite slow, so I don't often report that many at once anymore.
There was one person (presumably) making the same 3 posts with several dozen accounts that I found via the patrol. This was presumably some kind of spambot, so time is of the essence to get these posts removed before search engines can index the posts. I could create a tool that queues my reports, but that is besides the point. These posts need to be removed quickly, and I believe I have reported enough posts, and have contributed enough (look at my merit) to have a lower wait time.

But like other said, 4 seconds is very little duration. And concern is if you are trying to catch up with it means you are trying to keep your hands busy like a robot. Wanting to continue with this pace with your human hands - may end up breaking your keyboard :-D

Just queue things up while you're not prepared to post. If anything, you can always sneak a post in while your reports are being sent - it'll only pause one - and continue in the list.
I am not concerned about my ability to make many posts quickly. I ~always spend much more than 4 seconds on each post I write.

I used to do it this way, and I believe I had a 2 second timer? I still hit that fairly regular. I can't imagine what its like reporting with 4+ seconds. Probably why we don't see a wide range of users reporting, and only a select few. At least regularly anyway.

Until theymos repeals the limit at some point and hopefully add some more moderators to the team - plenty of threads that need to be trashed - you'll just have to do a roundabout solution.

I don't think this is high on the list of priorities.

If I were to build a bot to report posts, 4 seconds would be well below how quickly a bot could identify spam posts.
Wow, that would be a breakthrough to put spammer out of works faster. But will it be very effective in assessing every reported post ? (if you did create the bot).
I firmly believe that you need a break from your current manual reporting activity. It looks like 4 second will give you a little chance to sigh. But you have such a strong interest in doing it that 4 second will be something long to wait. :v

From what I have read in the past experiences of users the limit countdown is shared in several actions towards the forum since before I also have read (I can't find it now) that there was this user complaining that he can't open multiple tabs of BCT or go to the pages quickly because of the countdown people like what they are saying now seems to think that 4 seconds is not that a long wait and I agree I don't think there is a reason to decrease such an already short period of time already since it is already a reasonable time for any user to accomplish a task.

Only the two of them can solve your problem about spam delivery time.
Maybe they both have a solution for you, in terms of the 4 second limit.

The thread you linked to is my solution. It works fine, I can queue up to 100 reports (possibly even more but I've never needed that, and reporting more than 100 posts at once would probably indicate that I'm overdoing it) and go do something else while it's working. TBH I would not want a shorter interval because the number of times I screwed up and had to cancel a report greatly exceeds the number of times the limit has been an inconvenience. 4 seconds between reports gives me plenty of time to react.

It's funny to see Quicksy harping about building a bot to report posts automatically after he attacked me for allegedly doing so even though I've never done that - always review my reports before submitting. Even if he were to build a bot he can report 20000+ posts per day with the 4 second interval... there aren't that many new posts per day.

Is there anything I can do to have these limits increased?

Getting whitelisted from theymos, If I'm not mistaken Iasenko was whitelisted like that while he was a full member, but for him the delay was longer, 4 seconds might not be much you can deal with it, 60 would be annoying with the amount of spam we're getting in some topics..

If I am not wrong the global moderators can whitelist an account too. So try with them too if you do not get response from theymos @PrimeNumber7

To increase the limit you have to rank up to legendary (2 seconds)
I wish! But it's not Sad

To increase the limit you have to rank up to legendary (2 seconds)
According to this post the smallest limit to actions (such as posts and reports) is 4 seconds.
That is correct.

Getting whitelisted from theymos
Hilariousandco whitelisted me, but it didn't further reduce the 4 second limit. I guess it only helps when you don't have much Activity yet.

Only two members have discussed the time limit for reporting spam.

1. @Welsh.
Topic: [Unofficial Guide] Reporting effectively

2. @suchmoon
Topic: [HACK] One-click mod report, not for the faint of heart
Edit: I should mention that queuing has certain limitations. "let PROMISE_TIMEOUT = 120000;" near the top of bct-background.js basically limits the time to wait for the report to be submitted to ~2 minutes. At 5 seconds between reports plus loading time it allows up to ~15 reports to be queued.

Only the two of them can solve your problem about spam delivery time.

I hope they look at this topic and answer the complaints you are experiencing right now.

Is there a documentation or post from theymos or anyone that this is the case? The last post regarding the limits or reporting I've seen is only 4 sec. from welsh.
No, it's my assume, I dividing 2 every rank and I just knew it will stop at 4.

Maybe a globalmod can shine some light on it, or till then some member that currently still is.
This one. Thanks so much. I remembered this whitelisting and re-whitelisting were raised by iasenko or LoyceV but can not find it.
You can't be whitelisted again.

You can not ask for re-whitelisting.
I am still finding proof for it but you are fast.  Cheesy

I am whitelisted by virtue of my copper membership. My understanding is my whitelisting gives me a maximum of one action every 4 seconds, which is not frequent enough.

As far as I understood from Iasenko's post at that time whitelisting removed even the 4 limits barrier:

OP is not asking about PM limits but reporting delay of 4 seconds

According to theymos, several actions are counted as posting by the system:
Several different actions count as "posting". This includes reporting posts and sending PMs
So possibly they all have the same cool down time to limit spam. It would also mean that there is a cool down time between different actions, so if you "report a post", you have to wait a bit before "posting a reply".
But I have no idea if whitelisting would apply to all restrictions.

OP is not asking about PM limits but reporting delay of 4 seconds and with the amount of spam we are getting these days there are plenty of spam to report  .

Shout outs to all the mods that are taking care of the spam in a swiftly manner and all the reporters Kiss.

I have seen that table. I am not trying to send mass PMs.

I could be wrong but if I am not, the whitelisting is applied for post, search, report and maybe for data scraper too. The count for one post, one report, one search is the same and each ranks, each whitelisted user has to follow the above limits.

I was using multiple tabs to report posts. I had identified a spam bot that used many accounts to make substantially similar posts and needed to report many posts at once. Creating a bot to report the posts would have resulted in the spam bot being able to make spam posts faster than I could report posts (in theory).

@PrimeNumber7 is fine but OP is on the top of whitelisting. If others are at lower ranks and lower activities, one trouble is one account is only allowed to whitelist one time in account lifespan. You can not ask for re-whitelisting.
