Metaverse is using mainly ETH and some other top coins at thsi moment. Doesn't mean that matic can't get their hands on some of that profit but for a utility token that is mainly suggested to be used on something like that, they need a lot of money involved, they have no other use case and that means metaverse not being on Matic is always hard for them and would cause them to lose some profits.

Any time a new project starts on ETH and not on Matic, any time it happens on BSC or SOL or Avax or anything else, that is some money Matic didn't get and considering they need every single project they could get, they are losing blood with each of them. So I am not sure how much they will be able to convince others at all.

Polygon has a slow steady growth which is healthy for a portfolio asset. It has a very cheap transaction fee but more and more layer2 are coming up, but Polygon still remians very cheap and scalable, I hope this will be it advantage to competitors.

Matic would surely grow but not 10 folds. The only reason people are into matic is due to it's low fees, if the fees kept on increasing like this and be similar to that of BSC (highly likely if matic don't do something to counter the rise in fees), people would again move towards BSC or a new chain that offers cheaper fees. I'm already having problem of larger fees and ever pending transactions on polygon. Not as larger as BSC but combined with the delay, it's sometimes frustrating.
