Yeah, we’ve essentially put marketing and community outreach on the back burner on purpose, until we can get 2 essential tasks finished.

Right now all focus is on the white paper and our signature and avatar bounty program. This bounty will be similar to a conventional bounty but with the option of adding an affiliate link for an added bonus if one wishes.

Once these 2 things are complete we will move focus to advertising, bounty promotion, ICO start, etc.

It’s taking a little more time than planned to complete the above two items but it will be done soon. When that happens phase 2 (marketing) can begin without distraction.

sounds good man, looking forward to seeing how this goes! i admit i dont have alot of faith in "metal" coins, but following this from the beginning, this one i think will do better than most!
Take your time , do things right, don't get greedy, think long-term, and ya just keep us updated with simple reports here and there, even if theres nothing to really report the community will appreciate you just coming by

We are aiming to start the ICO by the end of March. It will run for 28 days or until sold out.
And we should be listed on an exchange shortly after the ICO ends.

It's good news. I will join this campaign  and DEV should have more detailed plans for promoting silvercoin.

Quick update:

The bounty program is going better than hoped for at this point. No problems to report. Every day it grows and without any advertising from us.

This week we are focusing on getting the white paper finished, as it will be critical to have this done before we can proceed to the next level.


The BTC price of SilverCoin will depend on the success of the ICO. If we go with the 100 BTC min and 2500 BTC max, then the price per SVC should be somewhere in the 0.00002 to 0.0002 BTC range. (With only 11m coins in circulation)


The affiliate bounty program is intended to serve as our Bitcointalk signature campaign. Just add your affiliate link to your signature (banner) and you’re all set. Do what you will.

Next week we will be focusing more on this with potential new html signature banners coming out. There is even the possibility of a smaller bounty program specifically for this forum but that is not certain at this time.

We will be periodically checking in on this forum but there may be delays in our response time until next week.

The SilverCoin bounty program is back online.

Last week we launched our bounty program with the intent of doing several things at once, including…

1. Advertising our ICO
2. Determining viral potential of project
3. Stress testing the affiliate system

So on Wednesday we started a Bounty thread at Bitcointalk and a Google Adwords campaign. But within 24 hours we saw so much activity that we decided to take the program offline to assess the situation before we got too far ahead.

One remarkable thing that happened is that affiliate signups went 4 levels deep and our banners appeared on multiple Facebook, Twitter and forum pages overnight.

So in regards to #1 and #2 above, it exceeded all expectations. SilverCoin is a built-in viral cryptocurrency and the implications of that are incredible.


In regards to #3, the system is working perfectly and there doesn’t appear to be much attempted fraud. However, we were able to identify potential vulnerable areas, which led to an intense week of discussion, which will be explained in our white paper (coming soon).

Essentially, we are looking at a 3-level integrative-verification protocol involving 3 key technologies (Affiliate tracking + NXT + SMS).  No email or name required.

But since this verification protocol will not be available in time for our bounty program we have come up with a short-term solution that involves adding an extra step to the existing signup process.


It’s called ‘Social Media Verification’ and it’s a temporary solution to enable us to continue the bounty program while ensuring no large-scale fraud.

Social media verification means we now ask new signups to enter a link to one of their social media pages as a source of user verification. And affiliates may be sent a message to confirm their affiliate account.

Anyone who earns a payout will have to be verified at some point prior to payout.


We also had to streamline our system so we discontinued our Slack bonus. However, those who registered last week and requested the bonus will still receive it.  We also made a few minor changes to the bounty program, which can be seen in the updated OP.
