All though interesting, I don't believe block reward voting to be useful as everyone regardless of large or small stake will vote for the lowest possible block reward to increase the value of any coins mined.
Increasing the coin supply does not increase the value. Likewise reducing the block reward increases the scarcity (value).

Why would anyone vote otherwise?

Looks interesting, except for the fact of no cap on the investments. Refund that 20 BTC investment (79.9465 % of all IPO) and introduce a sane cap of max. 1 BTC.

This is obviously an insider using funds to obtain more of the IPO.  I wouldn't be surprised if they used funds that they were going to use for development for the IPO.

Yeah I'm gonna have to agree.

You guys realize you are telling them to refund their largest investment? Pretty silly if you ask me.

I think someone who is willing to drop 20BTC on a new and innovative coin, wouldn't be bothered by making disposable accounts (or probably already has them).  I'm debating upping my IPO amount, just to even the distribution a little.

OK, so I'm a very small time miner.
What do I need to do to get ready for the launch?

Do I go here >> https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/an-even-more-optimized-version-of-cpuminer-poolers-cpuminer-cpu-only-55038 and get the best suited? Or will there be a custom miner released in time?

Thanks,

Tim

You just need the wallet to mine and it has GUI controls for mining. At this stage there is no custom miner nor pool miner. We will advise if that changes.

Thanks cheif, but how do I play that if I want to use a number of machines? Do I have to wait for a pool to appear, or is there a way of telling them all about the others?

Looks great, but you cannot do both - be anonymous and expect people to give you btc without the escrow.   Sad

Refund that 20 BTC investment (79.9465 % of all IPO) and introduce a sane cap of max. 1 BTC.

This ^ will (a) bring many more investors, (b) will ensure better distribution from the start, (c) will automatically create bigger community.

Theoreticly a person could still invest a large sum by investing severall smaller amounts,
offcourse he or she would have to make a bitcointalk account for every single investment.

You guys realize that the 20BTC bomb is sufficient in terms of Kilotons to be able to manipulate the market for months to come right? The Pandacoin debacle showed that (although the devs dumped it themselves, which didn't help). I like the idea you have here however. Still contemplating whether it is worth the risk though.

We have changed the countdown timer on the Heavycoin website from a "Launch" timer to an "IPO" timer. We have done this to avoid confusion about when the IPO ends.
The IPO dates have not been changed and the "IPO" countdown timer will be replaced with the "Launch" countdown timer after the IPO is closed.
