Exactly, Arsenal really relied more on their defense in this match. Their target means actually preventing Man City from scoring goals. And they used a quick counter attack system to attack, so they only had a few chances to advance into the Man City area and couldn't win more balls.
Arsenal defense was just too strong and Manchester City couldn’t Penetrate it, all their effort to break Arsenal defense failed. Arsenal were trying to make use of counter attack, but they also failed, they were able to create few chances, but they couldn’t convert any of those chances into goal. The way the match went, if Arsenal tried to attack in the match, it won’t really be an easy one for them, because Manchester city might end up scoring in the match. Manchester City did everything possible to score in the match, but Arsenal defense was just too strong for them to break.
But, even though they are quite defensive, Arsenal's shots on target are actually more compared to Man City.
Because they were playing counter attack, and since they were playing defensive game, it was really difficult for Manchester City to get ball to Arsenal goalkeeper, they block most shots before getting to the goal keeper.
And Draw could be Arsenal's worst target for this match.
If Arsenal didn’t want draw in the match, then they won’t have played a defensive game in the match, I think their target was just to play draw in the match.
