I enjoyed the game yesterday because for the first time in a while now the Gunners played like they were known for during the times of the likes of Thierry Henry and his mates. They literally commandeered the both halves, not even giving Newcastle a chance to breath and this got the Magpies losing much control on the ball and making loads of unnecessary mistakes. Eddie's job is on the line but I least expected that very poor performance from them. One would think that Arsenal were able to play them that way because it was at the Emirates but I think the Gunners excelled brilliantly because not only were they the better side, Newcastle just got their head wrapped in other things like the FA cup and coupled with the fact they have been a little sick in terms of lacking players I feel all that contributed.
I only watched the highlights of this match, but it matches what I predicted in the previous post. in fact, the player I doubt, Jakub Kiwior, was able to contribute one first goal for the Gunners squad. He played quite well, unlike when he competed in the Champions League against Porto. unfortunately, Benjamin White's performance did not play as it should. but overall, Arsenal played very impressively. the performance between the players was very solid, especially in the first half where Newcastle didn't have many opportunities.
Based on statistics, the Gunners controlled ball possession and had more opportunities. plus, technically the Gunners played impressively far above Newcastle. As a result, Arsenal still maintain a points distance from the teams above their ranking. If the Gunners are able to perform consistently, at least in the Premier League, they have a big opportunity to achieve the mission and dreams of the club and team squad. I hope Arsenal can be consistent. Moreover, in the next match their opponents will be Sheffield Utd. on the contrary, as you said. The fact is that Arsenal deserved to win, even though they were playing at home.
As for the Newcastle camp, there were various factors that caused Eddie Howe's squad to experience a decline. in particular, several players have not been able to return to play with the regular team due to injury. the problem is that they play in several other competitions, yeah, that can affect the team's performance. but as a coach, Eddie Howe inevitably has to be able to overcome it. if not, like the result of this fight. Newcastle seems to be having difficulty finishing in the top four of the Premier League like last season. well, it looks like Eddie Howe's career is on the line.
