New weekend, new opportunities. I am a bit interesting in Sheffield Utd - West Ham to play a straight 2 (West Ham as winners) to 2.3 odd but a bit scared for the draw. I don't think Sheffield will win, but I also think West Ham isn't as good as the table show's even tho they been amazing lately in PL against the top teams, but so often after a good run like that a plumb often comes and Kudus is away but I don't think it will be a huge impact.
Anyone with some ideas here? I would love to play a straight 2 to 2.3 odd.. but the draw is making me afraid.  Grin

We can only wait till line up to be published. I meant if i was also having the same feel like you when westham was playing at FA cup. The primary issue at hand is whether the squad will be able to perform with the main players or if it will still be lacking a significant number of key players.
The odds makes me feel dilemma about which thing that must be choosen for this game. Im feeling westham has greater chance to win while at the same time there is also potential for the club to use the same squad like when it was losing at the FA cup.
It will be a disaster if westham will be still repeating the same mistake and this makes me feel doubt about it. I would rather than pick double chance even though the odds was quite small but that's good enough to avoid the risk.

Westham win - draw shall become the best choice for this match.

The game is in 86' minut right now and it's 2-1 lead to West Ham.  Tongue
I betted over 2.5 goals. I could not decide how I should do.
Strange post from you there..  Roll Eyes

I agree with that, but don't think Liverpool need to feel pressured as long as they don't come up against a team as strong as them. Arsenal, Aston Villa and Manchester City are the teams who so far appear to have an equal chance of winning against Liverpool, but Bournemouth are not. Even if Bournemouth plays at home, but they don't have a good probability of winning against a top team like Liverpool. So Liverpool are favorites to win, but Klopp needs to be careful about planning the game.

Liverpool must win and they must not lose points if they don't want Manchester City to come and bring a lot of pressure. Manchester City and Liverpool are only 2 points apart so far, so it is relatively small to expect Liverpool to lead the standings safely. But in my opinion, Liverpool won today.

But you can see that the teams from the bottom of the table aren't as weak in most of the games as the table would suggest. It is not like upper third vs. lower third = win for the team from the upper third of the table. It is just now that Sheffield United could beat West Ham United as they are in the driving seat. Of course you are not wrong that this game should be a win for Liverpool, but drawing conclusions early went wrong a couple of times for me this season.

It just came to my mind that Liverpool had this game against Luton Town when they were only able to get 1 point from it and that was only possible because Diaz scored a goal in minute 5 of extra time. But I admit that in early November they were not as good in shape as they are now, but then again Salah is missing.

Of course, we can see changes in the top ranks because the quality of the league is so high that even teams that are close to relegation can get points from the big teams. This suddenly changes the fate of the entire league. Arsenal still has the chance to win the title. They played one more match and their points are in good shape. If Liverpool and Manchester City drop points, Arsenal can get into the pot again.
The league is strong, but do Bournemouth really have a chance of taking the points away from Liverpool today? Why is there such a high odds on Liverpool, 1.79 is suspiciously high, even taking into account that Liverpool will play away, and several players have been called up to play for their national teams, Liverpool still remains as strong.

I looked, Bournemouth had a very impressive winning streak, and apart from the last defeat to Tottenham, they look very cool, so it might not be easy for Liverpool today.
This week is a very crucial week for all clubs in the top flight, because they have to win every week considering that the distance between one club and another is not far. Liverpool will be the club that will compete today, it looks like they will play all out even without the presence of their mainstay plyers. Bournemouth on paper is no better than Liverpool, even though they are playing away, that does not diminish their status over the hosts who will host them.
The target of 3 points will be their target every week and that will also be proven in this mtch. Bournemouth also certainly don't want to be losers, they will try hard to stop Liverpool's progress at the top of the stndings. If they can't win then they will try to force a draw. We'll see how far Bournemouth will go in resisting Liverpol.

It's true that during times of pressure like this the Liverpool players' mentality is being tested, but if you look at Liverpool's journey I think they can get through this match with a win because Liverpool are used to pressure like this even though Liverpool is without Mohamed Salah, and Liverpool also lost another player, Trent Alexander. - Arnold is injured. Even though it is a big blow for Liverpool, I am sure Kloop can overcome it in this match.

So even though Bournemouth are in a good trend, having only suffered one defeat in their last eight matches in the EPL, maybe this match will be a little difficult and intense. However, in my opinion, Liverpool has the ability in terms of player material and mentality to get three points in this match. Judging from the last few matches, Liverpool is also more dominant.
Whoever is in first place will most likely always face pressure and there will always be a burden to be able to win every match so that their position remains safe. Likewise with Liverpool, moreover they will play as guests. But if we look at their consistent performance and how good their composure is in every match they have played, I guess Liverpool can win this match. If that ultimately happens, then the pressure will shift towards Man City.

Will Liverpool be able to continue to widen the gap at the top of the standings through this match against Sheffield? and as we can see now the match is already underway and the position is still the same 0-0. Maybe for Liverpool this is an easy match, especially since the opponent is a weak team in the relegation zone and even though this is an away match for them it is certainly not a difficult problem to be able to steal 3 points.

On the other hand, Sehffield still have to fight to get out of the red zone and if they still don't score points in this match then they will definitely be worse off. I think if they want to get points against a strong team like Liverpool, the only strategy they can do is defend, but if that doesn't work well and actually catches them off guard then Liverpool won't hesitate to beat them with a crushing score. I think Liverpool will win with a difference of 2 goals because 1 goal will not be safe enough for the Reds.
With Sheffield I'm hoping Liverpool doesn't have a problem further widen the gap at the top of the table as against Manchester city and Arsenal who are just very few points away from them, Liverpool still very much in a good come and even much better than Sheffield in strength and their performance so far and I don't think Sheffield is getting an opportunity out of the red zone with Liverpool.

If Sheffield goes all defensive in other to make sure they don't lose the match against Liverpool they may be only fighting for a draw at that which of course isn't guaranteed because if they are staying too defensive it's still very possible that at a point Liverpool will be able to penetrate their defense line and get goals which will definitely seal their fate and like you stated rightly they will turn out even worse at the red zone but a draw will be detrimental to Liverpool and not of much advantage to Sheffield either so both teams needs a win in this game if they must Maximize the results of this game to their very advantage.

The defeat against Tottenham certainly ended Bournemouth's winning streak, if we look at the five matches they only lost once and won four, today will be an interesting match because it could be that if Bournemouth makes it difficult for Liverpool to get full points it will give Manchester City the opportunity to overtake they are at the top of the standings, now we also know that Bournemouth sometimes play surprisingly well against great clubs. I'm looking forward to this match.

I actually don't want to be quick to predict the strength of the two of course Liverpool will probably be very favored but this is football there are always surprises that we can't predict, playing at home will certainly make Bournemouth play optimally, for them winning may be difficult but by sharing the points They might be able to achieve a draw by making it difficult for Liverpool to get full points. If the result is a draw it will certainly benefit Bournemouth and also get an additional point to secure their position.

Without Moh Salah, it looks like Liverpool might have a little difficulty, but that shouldn't be the reason Liverpool doesn't score goals, they have to win today's match to maintain their consistency and maintain their position at the top of the standings.

What are you talking about ?
Sheffield's match against West Ham is taking place instead of Liverpool.
Liverpool will compete against AFC Bournemouth soon.
I think Liverpool's chances of winning are still quite big even though Bournemouth are also in top form in the last few matches, but realistically we can see that Liverpool's strength is much stronger and their big motivation is to maintain their position at the top of the current Premier League standings, I think Liverpool will win even with a narrow score.
I hope you know what you're typing in your post because you're actually mixing up things in your write up mate. Liverpool aren't the ones that are currently playing rather it's Sheffield United who are playing hosts to West Ham for their match week 22 fixture in the English Premier League.

Liverpool will play later this evening against Bournemouth at Anfield and to answer your question, I'm very optimistic that Jurgen Klopp's men are going to win the game emphatically. Bournemouth have been impressive in recent weeks and their striker Dominic Solanke have been on a good form and was even awarded the English Premier League player of the month for December. But against Liverpool who are trying to further extend their lead at the top of the league table, I don't expect Bournemouth to get a result in the game.
Sorry and thank you for correcting, honestly I'm quite tired today and can barely distinguish the logos of the teams playing in today's match. OK, let's change the topic of conversation to the actual match between Bournemouth vs Liverpool which will take place in about an hour and a half. Of course we already know that Liverpool come with great confidence to get the full additional points and Bournemouth may not be the opponent who can stop Liverpool's performance so far.

If you look at H2H, Liverpool always wins when they visit Bournemouth's headquarters and the last time the two met ended in a narrow victory for Liverpool in the EFL event, but if we talk about the whole meeting in the EPL, Liverpool can always win hands down. So we already know the winner and here Liverpool will continue to maintain the top position and seeing Arsenal who won again yesterday, of course they will be more alert.

Sheffield vs West Ham are playing a draw and from all I have seem I'd say is a very disappointing display from the visitors West Ham in the first half, everything seems to go the way of the home side in the first 45'mins. I was expecting West Ham to play what Sheffield UTD are playing, too much confidence and showing that hunger to win.
They (Sheffield UTD) are doing very good in this game and the response they gave the visitors is just outstanding, after conceding the first goal the replied West Ham in less than no time, if they have been playing like this I believe they won't have been in the position they are now on the log.
West Ham are still not interested in getting any better position in the EPL table this season if you ask me and it would be bad that they only have eyes for Europe competition they're in. It is either they lose this game or play out a draw, that's if Sheffield would let that happen after giving us this wonderful display. I hope the second half would still be in favor of the home team and get a win.

It seems that Liverpool will really play seriously to get full points in tonight's match, because what you say is true, that Man City has started to recover from its downturn in its last few matches and the presence of their midfielder Kevin De Bruyne will be a frightening threat. For Liverpool, Bournemouth will play at home. Liverpool will certainly face fierce resistance. It seems they will face difficulties with the absence of Mohamed Salah in the Liverpool squad.
Even though they are playing at home, it looks like Bournemouth will not be able to give Liverpool too much trouble, even though Liverpool themselves are playing without Mohamed Salah in their squad today. Liverpool had realized this long beforehand so they might have prepared other players to be placed in Mohamed Salah's position so that their strength would not immediately weaken when Mohamed Salah was not in the squad like in today's match. Bournemouth really want to win at home, but Liverpool also don't want to lose in today's match because they are at the top and will try to stay at the top.

Great football work and team work from Arsenal players in the second half, Arsenal goalkeeper saw a good opportunity for a counter attack, and he gave G.Jesus a long throw, which G.Jesus made proper use of the ball and was able to pass the ball to Trossad who with experience, dribble the last defender chasing him from behind and netted the post. A good finish from Trossad to give his team their third goal. Crystal Palace will not survive this one today because the scoring has just begun. More goals from Arsenal till 90mins will be over. Arsenal has deprived their visitor the chance of scoring in Emirate. Let us see if they will end the match without scoring a consolation goal. 3-0

Without any doubt a great game played by Arsenal and with respect to their offensive problems, this can be considered serious progress if they can maintain a good level of scoring for the next games.

Every time I see Sheffield playing or when I follow a live ticker, I am impressed how hard it is for almost any team to beat them. Even more than that, Sheffield is playing equally well right now or maybe has even slight advantages over West Ham. The game is still tied but Sheffield has more chances and is superior in all relevant statistics. Yet they are at the bottom of the table, but they keep resisting hard in their games.

While Liverpool is going to have a match against Bournemouth and this can be a very important game for them because of the situation they have. but there is the possibility for Liverpool to play without Salah in this game because it seems he got injured.
Even Klopp was worried about his player and he said Salah was never asking for substitution to leave the field and seeing this player in this situation made him talk about this player.

Liverpool will play their 21st match against Bournemouth with the return of Manchester City in the hunt for trophies meaning Liverpool have no time to relax even though against Bournemouth, Jurgen Kloop needs to play carefully and not make fatal mistakes, he still has to be focused until the last minute. The difference in points with Manchester City will continue to overlap because Manchester City will definitely play more aggressively to continue to get closer to Liverpool. MoSalah was absent due to a hamstring injury during the Africa Cup of Nations tournament. This is clearly a loss for Liverpool because MoSalah presence is really needed to continue to add strength to the attack line. Not only Mo Salah, according to news from thisisanfield there are 8 players who are confirmed to be absent, including those who play the most important roles in the depth of the squad such as Szoboszlai, Endo, Matip, Alexander Arnold and Tsimikas.
This season, the English Premier League may be competing with Manchester City and Liverpool. Last season we saw Arsenal fairly compete with Manchester City but in the end the competition was not filled with much excitement but with the way Liverpool and Manchester City are progressing it is clear that it will be a tough competition between Manchester City and Liverpool. Liverpool are a few points ahead of Manchester City. If Liverpool lose the next match or any of the next matches and Manchester City wins another match then the two teams may be level on points. Manchester City and Liverpool will do well against other teams in the Premier League but the most competitive match will be between Manchester City and Liverpool. The team that wins the match between Manchester City and Liverpool will have more chances of winning the title this season.

Every match in the Premier League is a big game because you are not sure of taking the whole three points until you have played your match and won. Arsenal is already in the Premier League title race because they are in the third position in the Premier League table, with 43 points and two points behind the Premier League table leader.

I agree with what you say. The English League is really interesting to watch because they have an even level of competition between teams. Every English league match is very interesting and I admit I know more about the names of football players in the EPL than in other leagues. But even so, Arsenal still has a chance to win the title because they are only 2 points away from the top of the standings. The top 5 positions can still change because there is not that much difference in points.
This season is very difficult to predict, because of the situation and condition of the players and their consistency, so it is very easy for big teams to move up and down their positions in the standings. Something like this should be a good opportunity for teams at lower levels to take advantage of this situation and win the matches they are playing, so they can maintain their position in the standings or improve their position in the standings. As experienced by Arsenal, in several previous matches their performance really declined and they did not appear consistent in the matches, resulting in several matches being lost. The impact of this defeat caused Arsenal to be moved by Aston Villa to 4th position, possibly due to the situation and condition of injured players. However, when Arsenal faced Crystal Palace, their performance and consistency were quite good and they managed to win this match. With the hard work carried out by the team, Arsenal was able to shift Aston Villa's position to 3rd place in the standings. This proves that Arsenal has completely recovered and is ready to compete with Liverpool and Manchester City for the League title this season.

The top 5 positions can still change because there is not that much difference in points.
Before you conclude that the two points difference away from the leaders of the premier league table currently is not much for Arsenal to make up for in oder to get to the top of the table, you have to first consider the top two teams, their ability and their next fixtures as compared to that of Arsenal, will Arsenal's next fixture allow them cover that gap, and will the top two teams be slack enough not to broadening the gap??

Arsenal is currently not consistent as they were earlier at the beginning of the season so it's very possible that as small as the point gap is from the top, they may not be able to cover it up and displace the team at the top of the table, I know if Liverpool losses their next fixture then Arsenal may have a chance at the top of the table but just before then is Manchester city who Also wants the top spot too so I will rather keep my fingers crossed than been to optimistic about Arsenal as they have done something similar last season, where they were toping the table with a very good point margin away from the team at the second spot.

Yes, it is indeed very annoying when fans have to witness the defeat of their favorite club, which causes anger which makes the condition of the club even more depressed because they see all their fans disappointed, but what happened to Crystal Palace is not surprising because this club is not a top club so it is something that is natural that he would be crushed by a top Premier League club like Arsenal.
Every fan definitely wants to win for their favorite club and they always make hurtful comments when they find out that their favorite club has lost and end up blaming the manager so that the board takes action to fire the manager and we don't know the real problem lies with the manager or players if a club is not developing well. .

And if they continue to change coaches without improving the performance of the players, it will end up being the same as the club not making progress. The board should provide sufficient finances to the manager to buy the players needed and carry out changes to improve overall performance, but because Crystal Place's finances poor limited managers can't do much more than save the club from the relegation zone.
I think the match loss was expected but the result was quite crazy and disappointing. Yes Crystal Palace aren’t a match to Arsenal though but that doesn’t justify this crazy result. And we can only imagine how the fans would have been feeling after this heavy defeat. No fan would want his club to lose and that’s why this defeat isn’t one any fan of Crystals Palace would love. I think the team lacked concentration and would need to be prepared more for their next match so as to avoid this kind of defeat.

They’ve changed coaches a number of times and haven’t made any credible additions to the players and that’s like not doing anything because the players are still the same and no difference yet. So I think the board should get more finances for the addition of creative players.

Liverpool is under pressure now because of the competition in the league table now as any failure to win Bournemouth today might really cost them the top of the table because for now Arsenal, Aston Villa and Manchester city are following up Liverpool with all alacrity so should Liverpool drop points now they might be giving either of the teams behind them in the table an edge to move to the top of the league table so Jorgen Klopp needs to be up and doing and make sure that his boys wins Bournemouth today in other for them to still maintain the gap a bit. I think Salah is on injury and had it been he was fit he would have participated on international duty for Egypt but hopefully he will be back on his fit soon.
