How can a team like Chelsea be struggling to be a championship team in the first leg? With the amount of money spent on their squad. I don't even think if the entire Middlesbrough squad is up to the amount spent on Moise Caicedio. Chelsea situation is very bad, I can't imagine Liverpool or Manchester City or Arsenal struggling to beat a championship team in the first leg and now relying on the second leg for a miracle to happen.

Fulham tried to maintain the lead they created in the first half, but they were not strong enough to withstand every attack made by Liverpool in the second half so they had to concede 2 goals and at the same time Liverpool could turn things around. But despite Fulham's defeat in this match, I think they played well and not too disappointing, they put up a fight that made it difficult for Liverpool. If only they had the same composition of players, I'm sure they would be able to at least make this match end in a draw. They played well, but if they always get pressure like that, then sooner or later they will concede and it happened.

we can't blame anyone for the badness of the team, it's just a little disappointment when Pochettino recruited players at high prices but didn't see how good their skills were, so bad things happened as you said, all the new players who were brought in haven't given impressive performances since joining Chelsea.

Chelsea's problem is not that they lost players who went to the Saudi Arabia league because most of the players who left are not important. An example is Ngolo Kante who was always injured and contributed little to the club. Even after some of these players left, the club spent money on more quality players. The problem the club has now is how to score goals because they have some of the best midfielders and a considerably solid defense. I don't blame the fans if they want more from the clubs because they have endured a turbulent period for about two seasons and the money that has been invested in the club looks like a waste considering the current performance.

It will be highly discouraging if the club fails to beat Middleborough at home in Stamford Bridge. They should expect to see a Middleborough that is willing to give all to make it to the finals. That match will be very hard for Chelsea to win because they will encounter one of the biggest defensive games and if they make any defensive mistakes Middleborough will take the lead and back the bus till the end of the match. But I hope Chelsea knows what is at stake and give their best to make it to the finals. I expect to see a classic final between Liverpool and Chelsea.

The chelsea performing so poorly in the first leg and and i can't even believe it how it can lose against a lower division club. I were not happy seeing it and im not even believing the result got by chelsea against middlesbrough. It sounds like that chelsea wasted a golden chance to lead the game before the second leg is going to happen soon. I was fuming when i was watching the game and chelsea sucks during that game. The club never showed the world class performance. The club keeps to deliver pathetic result and this is what poch wanted to see. Pochettino had done so many wrong calculations.
Normally, the coach would be putting the player on their best position but it's not happening with pochettino. He keeps deliver nothing to the fans and what he showed was a disasterclass. Pochettino was also substituted the players to make us as viewers were watching the same bullshit.

Truly Pochettino only chances of winning a trophy for Chelsea this season is by winning EFL or FA cup thus the semifinal return leg has to be won by Chelsea in Stanford Bridge on 23th January, though Chelsea has themselves to blame in their loss against Middleborough for being wasteful in front of goal, I still believe they would qualify for the finals to play either Liverpool or Fulham. I don't understand why Mauricio Pochettino seems to have lost his best ability when managing Chelsea even though he has great players in the team. You're right Chelsea were really bad and couldn't have played more consistently, and what was quite disappointing wasn't so much the losing bets but seeing them not being able to take advantage of their chances well.
This was home game for Middlesbrough and Chelsea could have controlled things in full time but they failed to create an encouraging moment by scoring the winning goal.
From this defeat I really have bad opinion of Chelsea, they have failed in the Premier League and the opportunity to have title is the EFL Cup but it looks like they will also fail.
Middlesbrough can really take advantage of home games and make a pretty good defense, you are also right that Middlesbrough has succeeded in blocking several team such as Aston Villa who are one of the top team in the Premier League.

This is important winning because Fulham is not easy to beat even Liverpool have to conceded first in the first half and in the second half Klopp has been decide to playing Nunez and Gakpo and this strategy was successfully to makes Liverpool playing more attacking and these players too was safe Liverpool from the loses because Gakpo was scored through an Nunez assist however although Liverpool win but i didn't satisfied to their performance yesterday because Liverpool should be able to win with more than 2 goals and during the match i have seen some of Liverpool players still wasted several attempts to scores and for second leg this shouldn't be happend again
Liverpool indeed one step closer to the final match because they can able to overcomes Fulham yesterday but in my opinion 2-1 is still not safe because everything is still possible to happend and besides that Fulham at home during this season was quite strong so Liverpool should be carefull to them

Yes, they could not play well after the team was sold. However, even though they could not become champions before, they usually took part in the first four matches and finished the league in the top four places. They even won the UCL cup.
