At one time De Hea was the best at Manchester United, and he was the best at the worst of times, and without his saves it would have been worse. De Hea gave the club the best years of his career and in general I think the club could have kept him at least as number two, for a couple of years, De Hea deserved it.

It's not clear why Ten Hag didn't want to keep De Gea, but it certainly was a really tough decision for both parties. Ten Hag can't guarantee that Onana will perform better for Manchester United next season, but it's a wish that might not go completely wrong.

I'm happy with the upgrade and regeneration plans that are important in building a better team, but I don't really expect a legend like De Gea to walk away without giving him an extra season. Manchester United's performance could improve with Onana, but maybe it could go down for other reasons. I don't think there is a modern era where everything is almost the same what is more constant is to look for new talents who are more professional both in terms of quality or in terms of their age. I mean De Gea may be old according to Erik Ten Hag so he trusts young goalkeepers with better abilities and that is all owned by Onana.

In my opinion DeGea missed the chance of his career when he refused to go to Real Madrid because 1 year after he lost the Spain squad too or at least he is not used in the games anymore so yea...I'm curious what his next chapter will be as I think Italy will have a word to say about this or he will go back to ATL.Madrid.

Onana I think is the best goalkeeper in the world now as Donaruma hype was big but it vanquished as big as it came so that leave the 1st spot only for Onana. Now , United have a proper team to try and fight for EPL and maybe once again to try and achieve a semi-final in UCL.

They think Onana is the best goalkeeper and that's why De Gea is not in Manchester United anymore. I think even if De Gea accepted the offer from Real Marid last year and join that team still he would get old and getting old means they would decrease his salary or stop working with him just like many other players they had. However, I was expecting to see much more respect from Manchester United and keep their main goalkeeper.

I will take this as a mere rumors than making unfair judgements to the ex Manchester United goalkeeper, we all had time when things don't go..as expected but I think of all the time that was spent in Manchester United, this season wasn't the worse, he did his best and I believe if there is such lack of confidence in him to handle ball, that will be the first thing Erik Teng will get rid of when he took over as a manager last season but they continue with him till the end of his contract.

Take it or leave it, every players has there peak time with every club and I think David De Gea time was up, there was nothing personal about the club, a contract was signed and it was over as the club didn't wish for his service any longer, not a big deal in my opinion. There should be other teams that are in que position to get him among their pack, if he still in good use, he will be heard wherever he play.

Legends don't stay at a club forever.
De Gea has done his time at Man United and I don't think it's a bad thing for a coach to tell him to move on. He has been a valuable part of that United squad for many years. There were seasons where he was their best player, but al these shouldn't mean he shouldn't leave when they can get a better replacement.
I don't really rate Onana highly, but the coach does and his reason is that he's good with the ball. Ten Hag wants to build up his plate from the defense and that usually starts from the goal keeper, De Gea sucks at that and Onana is perfect at that.
I hope Onana is truly an upgrade.

Ten Haag doesn't have to say literally that he doesn't want De Gea to stay, but what was De Gea supposed to think when ten Haag responded to a question whether they are searching for a new goalkeeper that he wants a new goalkeeper? Roll Eyes

De Gea knew that if Manchester United finds a new one, it is time to go for him and ten Haag also never said that he explicitly wants De Gea to stay. David De Gea contract refusal, shame and embarrassment is a testament to how Manchester United treat their greats, right from the days to Van Nisteroy to Rooney, Ronaldo and now De Gea. Hopefully, i hope other players learn to leave when the ovation is high. De Gea embarrassment could have been avoided if MUFC told him they would not renew his contract; thats bygone anyways.

I wish Onana a successful time at Manchester United; i hope he does not succumb to pressure from the English press.

Onana I think is the best goalkeeper in the world now as Donaruma hype was big but it vanquished as big as it came so that leave the 1st spot only for Onana. Now , United have a proper team to try and fight for EPL and maybe once again to try and achieve a semi-final in UCL.
