Actually they have a lot of money in the budget to use for a solid midfielder transfer. Gabri Veiga isn't a bad player of course and his performance was really solid this season. True, mason mount's contract gonna end next season. Mount has been in talk with chelsea in the past but no agreement for extension reached by both of parties. That's why chelsea has been deciding to sell him to the manchester united instead of let him go out from the club with free agent. It's caused by chelsea has been allowing so many players to leave from the club with a free agent like kante. let him out from chelsea with a free agent was a big loss.

There is huge competition in the EPL at the moment for the top of the standings... I'm not sure Chelsea can easily get back into the game after last season's poor performance... Of course I don't rule out that they can qualify for the Europa zone next season, but they really need good players in both defence and attack...

My guess is all the players that Chelsea are letting go are recommendations from Pochettino because as a manager in the season which is just a few months away he will only keep players that are definitely suited to the type of strategy he is going to employ, and because Chelsea have a lot of players so when they do let players go - It seems that quite a lot of players have been released but there will definitely be a lot of players who are not in accordance with what Pochettino will implement but they are also still looking for other players in the transfer market, so they are building a team from scratch.

Mason Mount was grown in Chelsea and had some good seasons there but he is no longer in a plan of Chelsea and their coaches. It isn't a loss for Chelsea by selling Mason Mount and getting money to buy other players. Players come and go and it is very natural for Mason Mount. Players can go because of their ambition to win titles, greed to want to have better salary, conflicts with the club and coach, many reasons.

Mount already left so let's wish him the best. Euro 2024 will be hosted next year and Mason needs to play regularly to have a spot in England squad.
