Yes, I agree with you, overall this season has played well, but it seems that OP wants to say that when he sees one match, it can be concluded that Arsenal deserve to be champions more than other clubs.

I don't know why you should use the match between Arsenal and Chelsea to measure the strength of Arsenal in this season that ended. I mean everyone could win Chelsea in the season even if a championship team, so why is that match so special for you to use it to measure the performance of Arsenal?

To be very honest, Arsenal has been very consistent even before and after the World Cup. I mean they deserve the English Premier League title Championship but it happened this way because they did not have the correct squad depth to be able to win the competition. They were repeating same guys for all the trophies including Europa League and FA Cup. So towards the end of the season fatigue caught up with them. And that is the reason they lost the title race.

But out of the previous 15 matches they have won 13 matches and drawn 2 matches. If Arsenal had been able to perform somewhat consistently, they would have won for sure. But Arsenal could not return to the truck after several players were injured. And they consistently dropped points in important matches.

Arsenal underestimate Manchester City too much in my opinion when they can take first place for some time and are 8 points ahead of Manchester City.

True. This Arsenal team need to step up with a better mentality.
For me I think the team mentality sold them out here… even pep make mistakes in his on pitch decisions but the team still end up performing. Arsenal need fighters and warriors!!! Not babies in the team. We need to be the champions caliber. Disappointing end to the season but we made significant progress this year. They just need to keep building. They also need to analyze what went wrong and tackle it early from pre season.

I have to align with you here as @RILWAN is saying what he doesn't know. How can a true viewer of football still say that Arsenal deserves to win the cup more than Man City, that's just out of it, the whole world knows that the only team that deserved it most is Man City. The situation is like this, at the beginning of the season, Man City was better, and later Arsenal took over until after the World Cup. But they couldn't sustain this and it's clear with their missed opportunities of losing and drawing while Man City was just beating any clubs that comes their way.

Well said but when it comes to LUCK and the Gunners team, I doubt if they have any. Don't be surprised if they start having issues with players and bad behavior, like some trying to leave the team, coming late for training and all that. But something I've come to know about the Gunners is that ones they start something and it's going perfectly well, they know how to not finish well, but top 4 which they hardly fail to get would definitely be their target next season not the title.
With the way Arsenal finished the season, some pundit would say this is a great achievement for Arsenal or their best season, to me I see that as mockery. If you can't win the trophy then you've achieved nothing but failure.

When a club fails to achieve a set objective, players are hardly sacked because coached take the entire blame. Arsenal performed more than everyone's expectations this season but the reason for the criticism was that the cup was within their reach and they let it to slip away. Next season will not be easy for Arsenal because I doubt if they will have the luck they had last season.
