Lampard had it coming for himself because Everton are even worse in this season. If Everton made this decision on a later date maybe it would have been too late for them. But now they still have so many matches to play in the league. They can fix things in time if they bring the right manager for themselves. The most important thing for them is to get out of the relegation field and get away from it as much as possible. They can't target a higher goal than that to achieve for this season.
But they can make their investments for next season and they can return as the Everton we have known. They can fight for good positions in top 10 then.
With a winning percentage of just 15 he was lucky to have stayed this long, even Gerrard that was a months ago had better percentage (18). He now needs more of a break away from football and possibly consider coming back again because it hasn’t worked for him. His case just confirms the fact that not all great players could be great coaches.
To Everton, this is the right decision. The only problem and maybe the difficult one is getting the right manager. Although they are decent managers available but Everton buget and status won’t fancy many to come here. If Sam Allerdyce had been available he might be the best option in situations like this . Everton could actually contact Gerrard or even EX player Rooney for the job. Because I strongly doubt any top manager will take the job.
His debut looks so bad. Just give him more time and we will see whether he can adapt to the united's playstyle or not. it seems like one match is not enough to know his potential with MU. Ten hag must give him more time to play. I hope that weghors will have some improvements in his performance with MU. MU fans are waiting for the result of his transfer. that will be very disappointed if weghorst keep performing the same thing like when MU was against arsenal.
I know that if weghorst has lots of potential to grow even better than it.
I don’t think Werghost needs more time to prove anything. From his game yesterday he showed that he lacked pace and Ten Hag should have known this from the time he scouted him. His other areas of play look decent to me, his pressing, hold up play and aerial battles were great. During yesterdays match we saw how he defended corners well. The main question now is does he fit into Ten Hag’s pattern? No because he is slow and man United need a speedy striker. As it is now Werghost will be be better coming off from the bench. But since United do not have any strike then Ten Hag needs to twerk his style a little bit to fit him. An SS like Bruno should be behind him for one-twos and then the wingers should be left wide for counter when he hold up play in the midfield. This could only work if United wingers are clinical to convert the chances like how Rashford did yesterday. United should also prioritize crossing more for him when he is in the box, yesterday’s match both Shaw and Wan Bissaka didn’t do more of that. I believe his aerial ability could bring goals for United
