The match of the week in the Premier League is undoubtedly Arsenal v Liverpool. Arsenal lost to Bornemouth last week. Their first defeat in the Premier League. They are 4 points behind Liverpool. On the other hand, Liverpool beat Chelsea last week. Also, they beat Leipzig in the Champions League. Liverpool will want to win this game and take back the league lead from Manchester City. But both teams can win this game. I will bet on both teams to score. It is my favorite bet in matches like this. It minimizes the risks for me.

Can Arsenal make a comeback after defeat against Bournemouth? Arsenal's rivals Liverpool now occupy the top spot in the table. A win against Liverpool is definitely a big challenge for Arsenal. Liverpool will certainly not want to lose the top spot in the table. On the other hand, if Arsenal is defeated in this match as well, then Liverpool will be behind by a big margin of 7 points. If they fall behind by such a big margin, it will be impossible for Arsenal to win the title.

William Saliba, Odegaard and Bukayo Saka will be absent from Arsenal's squad for this match. All three are key players in Arsenal's squad. We have seen in the past that when any player in Arsenal's squad suffers from injury, Arsenal's overall performance suffers. So the probability of Arsenal winning against Liverpool in today's match is very low. I would probably bet Liverpool to win this match.

Mikel Arteta will be facing one of his biggest test this season as his team will be playing against high flying Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium in their next upcoming match. If Arsenal are unable to stop Liverpool from winning the match at the final whistle, I would say Arsenal are almost officially out of the title race this season and thus this will be a match that Arsenal cannot afford to lose. Even though Arsenal are missing a few key players in this upcoming crucial match against Liverpool but I think there is still a high chance for them to turn the tide around with the support of their home fans cheering for them.
I think the match is not the first test for Arsenal because after all they have faced a bigger test against Manchester City before, but the match against Liverpool in my opinion will test how effective and also Arteta ability to bring his team to remain strong and solid in facing a strong team when his squad is in a limp like today, Liverpool performance is in the best condition and they are one of the title contenders who are quite strong this season, while Arsenal we cannot deny that they are not in the best condition after the storm of injuries hit their players, in terms of the chances of championship competition of course the match will be very crucial for Arsenal in maintaining their chances so that indeed if they lose 3 points in the match, Of course their chances of ending this season title drought will only come back to being a dream.
Both clubs are strong and we shouldn't jump into conclusions that one among them will have upper hand in the game later today, because Liverpool and Arsenal  have met before and each have won against one another before, so the possibility is still there that any of them can win in the today's games, but the main issue why both clubs are at high spirits and desperate to win this match is because the premier league have gone way into the season and all the clubs are at tite corners to win all their matchs since there really need the point to keep up with the season.

And considering that Asernal is at most positions to win the League this season, since their are defending their champion but also Liverpool eye to top the league tables and finishing with the highest point on the table since it has been long that Liverpool tested that position, so both clubs will do all that their can to win against each other.

It is true that now Arsenal will face a strong team (Liverpool), which of course in this match Liverpool will definitely have the potential to perform very well and it is certain that Arsenal will have the potential to have difficulty facing Liverpool because at the moment Liverpool's strength is indeed strong, there is no doubt that their greatness will have the potential big made Arsenal overwhelmed when facing him.

Yes, I agree with your opinion because if, for example, Arsenal loses in the later match, there is certainly a big potential for Arsenal to find it difficult to win a trophy this season. But of course, today Arsenal will be the host, so I think Arsenal will definitely appear more confident in beating Liverpool. and now the point difference between Arsenal and Liverpool is 4 points, so I don't think this is too much considering there are still a lot of EPL matches scheduled. In my opinion, of course there is still a chance for Arteta's troops to achieve their dreams.

Now, even though Arsenal's key players are still injured, of course Arsenal will be the host, so Arsenal will definitely have a chance to win the match. but in this match I will bet on a draw, I hope my bet is successful.

I was wrong about Manchester United not having interest in signing any players in the January transfer window. Manchester United have been linked to Alphonso Davies. Although it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. What player with options would move to Manchester United in this current condition. Real Madrid are also interested in signing Alphonso Davies. I will be shocked if Manchester United can convince him to join the team, they don’t have Saudi money to pay him outrageous wages, and they don’t have Champions League football.

Manchester United wouldn't have think about signing new players on the January but their bad performance has pushed them to and about Alphonso Davies Is going to be a hard decision for him to choose between Manchester United and real Madrid because even if Manchester United has not been doing something that would make them to be qualifying for the champions League but their could also be some advantages he would have why playing for Manchester United on this premier League but is also good if real Madrid would be his first choice but for now I think his leaving in Bayern Munich is not certain but before January we would no if he would stay in Bayern Munich or leave, so now Alphonso Davies should use this time to think about it.
Choosing between Real Madrid and Manchester United is never a difficult decision. Manchester United should forget about signing Alphonso Davies, there are probably some good players in their academy that they can add to the team. IMO Manchester United should prioritize sacking Erik Ten Hag and finding a new manager. Jose Mourinho has hinted that he is interested in managing a English club when his contract with Fenerbahçe expires. I still think Mourinho was not given a decent chance to succeed in Manchester United, it will be interesting if United begin talks with Jose Mourinho.

When Erling Haaland scored in the 5th minute, I started to think that Manchester City would be able to win the match with a landslide score. However, that goal was the only goal scored in this match. However, that's how football works, sometimes something we think can't happen and that's what Manchester City experienced. This is also thanks to Southampton's hard work in this match, they defended well, on the other hand, Manchester City in this match seemed to have problems when finishing, so they missed many opportunities.

Sincerely speaking, I didn't expect anything less than three goals between Man city and the finished Southampton. That was a very miserable game and a scrappy win for City. Fatigue might be one of the problems that led to their underperformance because the city we know could have scored four to five goals against such a weak team. Haaland alone could have scored hattrick but he missed many chances. I know it's not easy to play against a team that defend the whole game with almost half of their squad but City seriously need to find a way to break low block defense and of course, starting to make use of the corner kicks. Manchester city is not dangerous from corner kicks at all and it calls for concern. Imagine taking twelve corner kicks and they couldn't score even one from it.

Many people expected Manchester City to beat Southampton in a different score today, but I expected a narrow win because I thought there would be rotation due to the heavy fixtures and players wouldn't play at 100% and that's what happened. Haaland scored early in the game and it was enough for City to get 3 points. Nunes and Haaland are in great form at the moment. There doesn't seem to be a team that can stop this City team. Arsenal and Liverpool are playing each other, which means at least one of them will be behind.

I wanted to ask what's happening to Man City? Things are not right with them and it takes the best team to win them because they're not really in form and we know how Southampton are this season, givers of points and Manchester City are suppose to trash them just like they did in the champions league, I can't relate with what you said because I don't think is because of heavy fixtures of the season that's why City are doing poorly. Southampton are the weakest team in the EPL and with how Manchester City have been dominating teams over the years they're suppose to score at least two goals if not more than, so to me I feel the club is not ok and they are struggling.
It shows that Manchester City underestimated Southampton, because they believe that they are the weakest and free points givers. However, it wasn't as they thought, after the first goal Southampton turned to a beast, and took the match personally to the point that, they almost equalized the goal towards the end of the game, and the defending champions had no other option than to defend their only goal, so that the match will not end up in a draw. I didn't expect Southampton with such a brilliant performance today in Etihad, despite that they lost the match. Football is full of surprises.

I can't say same for Southampton because if they were brilliant they would have gotten a point in that encounter by playing a draw and it would be something they would be proud of because is never easy playing against Manchester City and get a point knowing fully well that they are the weaker side. Manchester City are some how tired from their outing in the champions league and from how I see it, even if Manchester City are not as good as they used to be I feel fatigue has gotten the best of them, with the busy season for the bigger boys I expected clubs that are only playing the EPL to come out with their best whenever they're playing against teams that are fully engaged with either the Champions league, Europa league or the Conference league, these clubs are not machines so they'll definitely break down, that's why I expected Southampton to get at least a draw instead they lost the whole thing.

Knowing that Haaland scored at the 5' , I'm sure a lot of you, including myself, bet on over 3 total goals in that match. I can't believe the match between Man City and Southampton ended at just 1-0. lol

Anyway, the record for the most draws in a single matchday in the EPL is 7. So far, there have been 3 draws in today matchday 9, and it almost became 4 draw if B. Mbeumo of Brentford F.C. hadn't scored in the 90+6' minute. There are still 4 remaining games, and if they all end in draws, it would tie the record for the most draws in a matchday. But I think it's unlikely to happen. lol

I also did not expect that the match between Man City and Southampton would end with a narrow score of 1-0. And Erling Haland's goal at the beginning of the first half, was really the only goal scored in the match. Unusually, even though Man City had many opportunities to increase their lead, including with 12 corner kicks obtained. Man City has a striker with a tall posture, namely Erling Haland, in a dead ball situation like that it should be a great opportunity to score a goal but this time Haaland and his colleagues were unable to convert it into an additional goal.

However, even so, it needs to be appreciated that in this match Southampton's defensive ability was quite good. Conceding in the early minutes did not make Southampton players pessimistic, they remained confident that they could match Man City's game.
When you have 11 players playing very close to each other in the box it is usually difficult to score against such opponent. Any team no matter how good they are, will surly struggle to beat a defensively minded team like Southampton did against Manchester city. I don't blame them that much, because they felt that is the only way for them to grab a point against Manchester city. Although the wastefulness from the Manchester city side was really too much and Pep has to seriously talk about that with his players. I think things like this often happens when a club is underating it's opponent in a football match. Because they have this feeling that they are always going to get more goal scoring opportunities. If was against a tougher opponent, I bet Manchester city wouldn't have been that wasteful in front of goals. The fact that they got all 3 points is enough to forget about those missed opportunities.

Arsenal must first taste defeat in the last week of the Premier League before facing Liverpool today. That will be a full motivation for them to try to restore the victory lost in the last week, but the problem is the opponent they will face is not easy at all, yes it is Liverpool who plays well with their new coach. Another challenge for Arsenal is when they have to face the team with the strongest defense until the 8th week of the Premier League this season. Liverpool have only conceded 3 goals this season, this shows that their defense is difficult to penetrate. I look forward to this match.
Arsenal will not have their best squad for this match, Saliba is suspended, Saka is injured and the same for Calafiori. They will be the host in this Super Sunday match but they don't have good preparation for this big clash against a strong opponent, Liverpool that is one of strongest teams in Premier League this season. Absence of Saliba and Calafiori will affect Arsenal defense system while we know Liverpool have very strong and goal productive attacking system with Arne Slot.

Weakness in defense is biggest threat for Arsenal in this match because Liverpool are ready to exploit it, score goals and take three points from a direct title competitor Arsenal.

If you look at the opportunities when Manchester City attacked, victory should have been obtained by more than two goals and there were many opportunities that were indeed failed to be utilized by several players when making the final finish. Southampton's defense deserves appreciation because they played quite solidly and did not allow Manchester City players to score goals freely. If not for the solid defense, Manchester City could have won the match by more than three goals.

This is an important victory for Manchester City because they can continue to be in first place in the standings before Liverpool will face Arsenal which is likely to end in a draw.

Man City entered the match against Southampton in unfavorable circumstances without many important pillars. Kevin De Bruyne's absence has significantly affected the home team's attacking play, while Rodri's season-long absence has also weakened the Premier League champions' midfield. We all thought an early goal would see Man City demolish their newly promoted opponents, but despite creating plenty of chances, the visitors were unable to increase their lead. Southampton are not very solid defensively and often make mistakes when developing the ball at home. However, Man City's attack is not sharp enough to take advantage of the opponent's mistakes.
But most importantly, they still won maximum points to put pressure on Liverpool.

My hope that Manchester City drop some points was dashed. I was expecting that Southampton would have luckily levelled up but City showed class. I am more fascinated by Haaland's strength and doggedness. The defender was pulling him down but he was strong and went for the goal instead of falling and calling for a penalty. Southampton did all they could to handle the City attack but couldn't do much to stop them from penetrating and creating chances.

City are temporarily at the top of the league pending the outcome of today's star match between Arsenal and Liverpool. I also think the match will end in a draw because the last two games in the Premiership between both sides ended in a draw. A draw will favour Manchester City, but a loss for Liverpool will also be better for them.

Everton 0:1 Fulham

The battle between Everton and Fulham is a fierce one, this is an indication of how tough English Premier League has become this time around. English Premier League standard of football keeps increasing and improving every season. At this time around it is now difficult for gamblers to actually say who will win a match unlike before when it used to be very much obvious before the match start. Today many people expected that Manchester City will win Southampton with a large margin of goals but it did not happen and as such they lost their money. In the same vein Fulham is leading Everton in a very intensive football match. The Nigerian International Alex iwobi got an uncelebrated goal against his former side Everton. It's about 80mins and Fulham is still leading.
It was really an interesting match seeing both clubs play an awesome and defensive game today most especially in the first half which ended draw. However, I actually predicted this match will end either draw or a win to Fulham, and as such, I'm not surprised to see Everton scored an equalizer goal at at die minutes into the game  (i.e 94 minutes) by Beto who was replaced by Dominic Calvert at 81 minutes into the game,  when Fulham thought they have won, but only to be surprised with an equalizer goal, despite they having the most ball possession which could probably had been converted into had Fulham played more shorts.

In the end Everton made a Comeback to hold Fulham to a draw in this match but this is not a bad result at least both teams can share 1 point and that can add to their points collection, however Everton needs points to save themselves from the relegation zone.

However, the match between Real Madrid vs Barcelona just ended, with Barcelona taking the lead with 4 goals to nil, a clear clean sheets, despite how the goal which was scored by Mbappe at first half was was rejected for offside after a video assistant referee was checked.

Yes I know but why are you talking about Real Madrid and Barcelona matches in the EPL thread??

Anyway, the record for the most draws in a single matchday in the EPL is 7. So far, there have been 3 draws in today matchday 9, and it almost became 4 draw if B. Mbeumo of Brentford F.C. hadn't scored in the 90+6' minute. There are still 4 remaining games, and if they all end in draws, it would tie the record for the most draws in a matchday. Man City was not as usual, because usually Man City is a team that is hungry for goals. Being able to score 3 more goals when facing Southampton was something that was predicted before. However, after the match took place, it was unexpected that Southampton's defense was so strong, and even though they conceded in the early minutes of the match, they were able to match Man City's game, they were able to thwart attacks launched by Man City including thwarting 12 corner kicks obtained by Man City.

I was also very amazed to see Southampton's defense, because usually a team that concedes in the early minutes, the team's defense becomes a little fragile, conceding in the early minutes can really destroy the mentality and confidence of the players, but this did not happen to Southampton, they have a strong mentality and confidence. And for the sake of the team's progress, Southampton only needs to sharpen their attack line again, Southampton must be able to take advantage of the few opportunities they get when counterattacking and converting them into a goal.

I can smile a little when the game ends with under 2 goals. I really expect the match is going to over 3 goals when look how easy manchester city create goals on minutes 5'. But, I still don't know what happen?, why the city attacker is look hard to just add more 1 or 2 goals?. So when i think it again and rewind the match, I think haaland is just got lucky to create only 1 goal for manchester city, the ball look bounce, then fell and touch haalnad foot. So with this condition, I really expect if Southampton defense is enough effective to hold offensive style the city attacker. The Southampton squad has already taken to how repel the repeated attacks.

Yes Mikel Arteta and Arsenal face crucial match against Liverpool at home. Losing would badly hurt their chances of winning title. Despite missing key players due to injuries Arsenal home crowd can inspire team. Energetic atmosphere can help Arsenal beat Liverpool. Arteta smart tactics are essential. If Arsenal can stop Liverpool attacks and counter effectively they can win. This match is extremely important. Arsenal needs mental strength and teamwork and clever strategies to succeed. Winning would boost their title hopes while losing would make it harder. It is time for exciting battle. Arsenal must perform well.

Haaland can't stop scoring and that's one positive thing from the match today. I don't expect Manchester city to score many goals in all their games as this is the premier league and not a farmers league. In some games, Manchester City will find it hard to score lots of goals but atleast they have to win and that's what they did today. This is how you know who he champions are. If it was some other clubs in the situation of Manchester city, they would have either draw the match or lose it due to some mistakes that'll lead to a goal against them. Erling Haaland is just incredible and he's going to win many trophies if he continues to score as he's doing.

This particular game was one Manchester City was supposed to secure as much goals as possible but they sadly didn't because they weren't able to convert all of their chances into a goal,, literally they had too many chances than their opponent did in this game,  Haaland didn't get my h opportunities again after hif first from which he got a goal, maybe this eas one of those games that wasn't supposed to produce too many goals but they won the game nevertheless.
I said it should be more than 3.5 but what happened was only a narrow 1-0 win for Man City even though if you compare it now Southampton has conceded 18 goals before but Man City really did not increase their lead even though their defense is quite bad and we know City's attack development is very dangerous but what happened today was only a narrow win that they got from Southampton.

In this match I lost the bet and I doubted Southampton's defense but what happened they were quite good at maintaining their defense after conceding many goals and showed their tenacity not to happen that was very good.
