Liverpool are going to play against Southampton in Anfield this week. They got a really important win against Tottenham in an away game the last time. This must have boosted their morale on a large scale. Southampton are in a pretty bad condition. They are one of the teams in the relegation zone as well. They have huge weaknesses in defense and this should make things much easier for Liverpool.

Liverpool really need a lasting winning streak to recover. This is a big chance to increase their current winning streak to 2 games. They should be able to destroy Southampton.
On paper, this match shouldn't be too much of a problem for Liverpool. But considering Liverpool have not been consistent until now is something that is seen as a problem in the Liverpool camp. Their current enemy is not another team, but their own performances which keep repeating the mistakes that make it difficult for them to get full points in the few games they play. Southampton are worse than Liverpool in many ways, so if they had to lose this game it would be a huge shame for Jurgen Klopp.

Nothing is more important to the fans than winning the EPL this season; they have been waiting for it for quite some time. Arteta must disregard the other competitions this season and focus solely on the EPL. Nobody will ever tell me that the Arsenal team is unbalanced. They only need to keep the dynamism and consistency. Injury is a fact of life for every team, so Arsenal shouldn't take offense at it.

I think we have good enough squad to challenge others at any competitions. Obviously EPL will be on top of that list but Arteta has good chance to lead Arsenal to deep stages in other competitions and maybe win them as well. Fitness will be main challenge so that might change the priorities but I still feel that we have good backup options in all positions just in case our best players get injured.

I think Arteta would be very upset if the reserves could win and Arsenal had to come out in the next round  Grin It seems to me that while Arsenal are so high in the Premier League, the team will be focused only on this tournament. They don't have the depth of a lineup to seriously compete in multiple tournaments.
My concern for Arsenal this season is that Arteta's players are not balanced between those in the first squad and the reserves. If faced with several competitions, it can certainly make it difficult for Arteta if faced with injuries that will be received by his players.
Hopefully the defeat in the EFL CUP is not a loss that is allowed or intentional in order to focus on the Premier League and Champions League.

Arsenal will get an easy opponent next week, they will face Wolves FC who are now in 19th place in the provisional standings. It will be an ideal opponent for Arsenal to be able to get 3 points easily. Even though they play away, Wolves FC is not a strong team even if they play at home. Arsenal must not let this opportunity slip past them, with a weak opponent like Wolves FC.

The GUNNERS are really putting on a  good impression and I think last night loss against Brighton should actually be put back. They should continue their good form because for now I think they are only team that can handle the heat Manchester City is bringing to league.

Arsenal have not contested for the league title for long now and I think this year they can actually get a short at it, that's only  if arteta can be sure to straighten up his boys and continue their current form

And what's even more interesting is that in the near future Newcastle United will play at home against Chelsea, I think this is a very interesting match to watch even though Chelsea have fallen behind and are in seventh place in the standings, but Chelsea will still trying to get full points despite playing at home to Newcastle United, but what I'm surprised is the defense of the Newcastle United team is so good lately that it makes every opponent who meets Newcastle United difficult to win the game.
Unpredictable with Newcastle United reach until top fourth standing right now and actually special with Newcastle have solid defense area by conceded 11 goals until 14 games in Primer League, Manchester City one position above have conceded 12 goals from 13 games and seems Newcastle United have great perform in this season. Last match before World Cup, Newcastle have opportunity finish at 3rd standing awhile if success defeat Chelsea, actually not any special thing with the blues perform in this season under Graham Potter, 2 draw and 2 loss from last four matches have bad perform with Chelsea.

Still not have any team success take full points away to St. James' Park stadium, seems difficult for Chelsea to beat Newcastle have impressive perform when playing home, I think Newcastle have chance to get 3 points in this games and take secure 3rd position standing awhile until World Cup.

Yes, Newcastle are unbeaten at home so far and in fact, Newcastle have only lost once so far. Also, given that many Chelsea players are still injured, I personally wouldn't doubt that Newcastle will still get the full points in the final match for the first half of the season.
Newcastle have really had a very good performance so far and even, Manchester City which is basically the most powerful team in the title challengers was not able to beat Newcastle.

Therefore, because at this moment Chelsea are not doing well, then a victory for Newcastle is likely to happen. Apart from the many main players who will be absent, Chelsea also after finishing the match in the Champions League continues to get difficult opponents such as Arsenal, Manchester City and the pressure for Chelsea is still going on in the next match.

No one expected Newcastle to break into the top four so quickly so yes, even the big teams this season really can't underestimate Newcastle because Newcastle this season have had a good record.

We don't have a thread for the League Cup? Maybe it's not even needed, just hope I'm not off-topic by a lot.

I was really annoyed by Liverpool's lineup yesterday, when we're doing badly in the league and we've drawn Madrid in the CL, I want us to attack the domestic cups more than we did before.

We needed penalties against a lower division team at home, luckily we won. I really hope we won't be playing with kids anymore - at least not this season.

Your next game will still be at home facing a side playing same football pattern as Liverpool which involves higher pressing and intensity from start of the game to the very end. Yesterday, I was able to predict a full time draw for Liverpool against derby county and what made me lose the bet was Sevilla last night.

I still feel that the fixture for Liverpool Southampton will end as a full time draw on Saturday just as it was last night against Derby County

I'm pretty sure of Jurgen Klopp giving those youngins a start during the weekend, it's also Gon be a good chance for those who haven't played more game's and also missed out on the FIFA World Cup selection from them respective countries. Jurgen Klopp needs backing and funds to get some quality players, especially two in midfied and a good replacement.

The Liverpool game last night was really laughable,I mean how can a league 1 side hold Liverpool to a goalless draw. With the way Liverpool have been struggling to stay in form, getting back to winning ways I thought that game won't have been a struggle for them, maybe the set of players Jurgen Klopp selected for that game was the cause of them playing poorly.

This week they'll be going head to head against a Southampton side, are they still going to find it hard to get the ball at the back of the net and gain all 3 pts?
Southampton don't seem to be doing better either, but can they be spurred by the confidence Derby displayed and atleast secure 3 points which could push them out of relegation zone?

Interestingly, the purchase of players for Newcastle has proven to be useful so far.
There have been several changes and there have been several players who have now been bought by Newcastle such as Isak, Trippier, Dan Burn, Pope and several other players.
Even though there are only a few of them who might know this player but Howe really knows what Newcastle need and this player has proven to lift the performance of Newcastle.
At the moment we may just have to look at some of the surprises that Newcastle will show in the coming seasons as their money will obviously matter.
Newcastle happens to shock everyone with their outstanding form this season, for the first time steeping in the top four position. Both the players and fans cheers in every single game because it's not an easy job to be in the top four in a league like EPL. More games to come for Newcastle but I hopes they can keep their spectacular form. The owners have what it takes to buy more big names to the club and putting Eden Hazard on the rader is quite impressive start for them.
I am not surprise with the recent resurgence of Newcastle in EPL, since the taken over of the club by the Saudi Arabian Billionaire who invested in the club by signing some few quality players since then the fortune of the club had changed positively, Eddie Howe had proved to be a very good manager by producing good results in their league matches, infact they almost defeated Man City unfortunately were unlucky City fought back to drew the match 3-3, I am very optimistic that the club will finish in top six this season going by some of their in-form players such as Callum Wilson whose brilliant performance earned him a call up to the English World Cup team.

Firing Tuchel and replacing him with Potter is actually not the right solution for Boehly. I'm sure Chelsea will suffer a setback and it will be very difficult to compete for the title.

Now Potter is starting to feel great pressure at Stamford Bridge. This happened after the Blues only won one game from the last five Premier League matches. Chelsea management will certainly regret its decision if the Blues have to finish outside the top four standings.

It was the worst choice Chelsea management has ever made to fire Tuchel and replace him with Potter. The Chelsea management's decision to fire a coach who won the champions league trophy for the team made me sad, even though the team was not in form when he took as Lampad's replacement as coach. However, it was done in an effort to help the team get back on track.

In fact, it was the beginning of the season when Tuchel was fired, which was too soon for that. I had expected the Chelsea club to be a little more patient while waiting for Tuchel to complete a specific task for the club.

If potter can quickly discovered where is need to be corrected it can surely make it to four standings of the table because he still have about 25 matches to played, the club just played 13 matches out of 38 matches.

I also agree with you, it was not a good idea in my opinion to sack Thomas Tuchel, The club should have given him more time to put things together and find a solution to the problems. Potter has been impressive since joining and the team had been winning games but seem not to have found the solution to consistency and winning mentality, with 25 matching still to be played there is still time to figure out the best strategies to improve the team.

I hope this not out off topic. Arsenal lost 1-3 at home against Brighton. The game was an EFL competition. This defeat ensured they failed to advance in the next round. If you look at players, Arteta has a lot of reserve players to field. It looks like Arteta wants to increase the playing hours of reserve players and rest other players. This indicates Arteta doesn't really want to win in the EFL.

Arsenal's focus now is to win the Premier League trophy, no wonder they want to win the Premier League more than the EFL. Arsenal have been doing their best in the Premier League and they must not lose focus if they don't want their position to be shifted by Manchester City who are currently stuck in 2nd place. Arteta will do better in the Premier League than in the EFL. Yes indeed most teams will focus more on a more competitive league than in the EFL.

As for Newcastle this is still related to money so it is not too strange to see this club in the next few seasons will continue to grow.
Newcastle United is no longer a club that can be underestimated in the Premier League. Yes, because of their current financial factors, they are one of the reasons that they can become clubs that can compete in the top 4.

If the club owner continues to meet the needs of the coach, including in terms of players to be purchased, we will not be surprised if Newcastle can play in the Champions League.
The news that has been widely circulated, Eden Hazard became their target in January.

It looks like Arsenal are very likely to maintain their winning streak by this week's match as well. They are going to have an away match vs Wolves.
Wolves might not a tough opponent for arsenal. Arsenal must be winning the match against wolves. Wolves was also at the relegation zone along with nottingham forest. there's no chance for wolves to win against arsenal. Arsenal has won against chelsea last week and this is also boosting performance from arsenal.

Arsenal defeated them in their last two meets too. Wolves are just horrible this season. They finished the previous season at the 10th place. But there is a huge decrease in their performance now. They got only two wins after leaving fourteen weeks behind. I think that they have a very low chance to get even one point vs Arsenal. Because Arsenal are like their complete opposite now. They are still leader in the league table. The Chelsea win recently should be helpful for them to be extra motivated. I don't expect any mistakes here.
Wolves is the worst in this season. It's having only around 10 points from all of matches that already passed. Last season might be a bit better cuased by wolves would able to maintain its position to be able to exist in EPL but it seems like that the different result may happen for wolves this year. The chance for wolves to be in the relegation zone with not forest are so big. It may stay there until the end of season.

It needs to be realized because their conditions last season and this season are clearly very different. Last season they were just an ordinary club with nothing that stood out but this season they are the richest club so the difference is quite clear now.
This is just the beginning for Newcastle I think because for the next seasons I personally believe with the strength of the money they have there will still be a very big chance for them to hit the team in the top 4.
it is very possible because this season alone they can surprise a lot of people because they are able to compete at the top of the standings while they have not yet spent the power of the money they have by spending star players, if they do that then it is very possible for them to be stronger more than now.
Newcastle United this season has played very consistently although not too flashy but they can maintain their good form every week until they are currently in 3rd place in the standings, this is very surprising and beyond the expectations of many people.
Interestingly for Newcastle at this time even though they have fantastic wealth but they are not wasting money instead making some smart transfers.
There are at least a few players they have brought in but up until now they have actually been very good and nothing fails to prove that they are doing this very well.
Now with the actual condition of the players who are still considered normal, they are good enough, you can imagine what their dominance will be like if there are star players there.
This season they have even become one of 3 clubs Arsenal and Manchester City who have only received defeat once.

I would say that Newcastle's performance was made possible by the confidence of the players and the extraordinary skill of their coach. Newcastle coach Eddie Howe has strengthened the bond between the players very well. Their match strategy is excellent. And because of the good bonding between the players, they are able to perform well as a team. We will see a Newcastle team in third place in the table, which we probably did not expect. And the important thing is that they have lost just one out of 14 matches this season. Now if Eddie Howe spends money to strengthen his squad, this side will be in contention for the Premier League title next season.
