Newcastle are going to be followed closely in this transfer market for sure. They have an incredibly huge transfer budget now but we will see if they will be able to use this budget efficiently. It was very important for them to stay in the Premier League this season because none of big players would be eager to join a second league team in that case. Newcastle want to build a very solid team and become a team like Manchester City for sure. On the other hand this can take some time for them. They can still start with adding a few solid players to the team.
Newcastle seems to still need a long time to become an elite club in the premier league. Now that Newcastle United is owned by a Saudi Arabian company with big finances, Magpies manager Eddie Howe will have a sizable capital to make a player hunt this summer. However, they will of course be limited by Financial Fair Play rules due to the lack of commercial growth from the previous owners.
The owner is ready to bankroll signing of quality players to Newcastle thus It won't take long before the team become a formidable, however definitely I won't be next season, recall when Abrahamnovic bought Chelsea in 2003 they won EPL in 2004/2005 season, in 2008 Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed bought Man City however won their first EPL trophy in 2011/2012, Newcastle even with a huge budget for new signings will have to build a solid team so as to be able to compete and challenge the top clubs for the league, the club needed to aspire to clinch a top 4 spot first before the title challenge.
I believe Newcastle in the future can be like Man City or Chelsea, but maybe Newcastle need 2-3 more seasons to win the Premier League trophy.
For now I agree with you, Newcastle will try to enter the top 4 first. But with the current squad it may be quite difficult for Newcastle to compete
for the top 4. maybe it would be more realistic for Newcastle to be in the top 7 first next season. If Newcastle can do that, then it is easier for Newcastle
to get the star players they want. So it's not surprising that Newcastle may in the summer transfer market this year will actively bring in a few more
new players to strengthen the Newcastle squad.
But because next season Newcastle are not playing in European competition, so maybe they can't buy big star players. Although Newcastle have very
strong financial strength, it cannot convince a big star player to join Newcastle. Therefore I believe Newcastle will try hard at least next season to be
in the top 7 first. And I believe Newcastle can do that if in the transfer market they can bring in some top players to strengthen the Newcastle squad.
I am also very curious about which players Newcastle will sign in the summer transfer market this year.
