I noticed the change in the team after Maresca came to Chelsea in the few games I watched. Maresca seems to be changing something in the team. Chelsea likes to have the ball in the game. That's why they attack better but they need to solve their defensive problems. If they solve their defensive problems then Chelsea's wind will start blowing and Maresca's career could take off. But Chelsea's biggest problem is that they have a terrible transfer policy.
In recent years Chelsea have sold top players like Kovacic, Havertz, Sterling, Gallagher, Lukaku, Jorginho, Kante, Rüdiger, Pulisic to other teams. They replaced them with inadequate players. They also occasionally give time to players like Renato Veiga, Cesare Casadei, Marc Guiu, who are unknown and below average. What's interesting is that they bought these players for very high wages. Chelsea are thus guaranteed to fail in the future. Liverpool and Arsenal spend much less money and build better teams every year.
Chelsea is now consider to be the best club in London, they're leading when it comes to race of winning titles and major ones for that category. Chelsea are put 4th position this season, they're having a smooth run and I'm proud of my club. This is extremely a good time to be a Chelsea fan, don't you think? With the likes of these new players signed by the board, I think they can actually comprehend and achieve their goals. Not just any random average players, we're talking about players like Cole Palmer, the current best player in England, Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Noni Madueke, there are more of them to mention but to list out a few. I'm enjoying every bit of Chelsea game where a draw now becomes defeats for them, mentality entirely changed under the new coach.
Enzo Maresca is blessing to Chelsea football club this season. First of all, the supporters were wearing frowning faces when the board appointed Enzo Maresca as headcoach, they claimed the coach was incompetent and not fully experienced to handled an elite club but looking at him today, they're the ones applauding the coach for a job well done for the Blues.
