Are you sure Arsenal played better in the beginning of the match or you say it is because they scored goal first? I did not watch the game to be honest, but looking at the statistic of the 1st half, Arsenal created more goal attempts than City although City dominated the ball possession. I wished to see Arsenal win too so City will not be too far away from the other teams for the title because Chelsea will have to meet Liverpool today. I hope the result will not be a draw, no matter who will win is good for the title race but a draw will make City enjoy the 10+ points difference.

Chelsea and Liverpool have an open game. I think the chances of winning for both are the same. some will probably bet for a draw.
Cheal has a strong midfield, but in every game even though they get a win they will still concede. In this match, because each of them has limitations due to Covid, I think a team that is ready and has strong tier players will win.
I would bet for Chelsea's narrow win. this could be an important match to shorten the distance with City. I don't think both teams will waste this opportunity.

I hope Jürgen Klopp gets well soon. Its absence will of course be felt. But I'm sure Klopp's assistants are just as good as he is. They have been working together for a long time. They will try to fill Klopp's place until he gets out of the quarantine process. It will not be a problem for training, but there may be problems during the match, maybe because of Klopp's absence. Still, somehow Klopp can communicate with his assistants and provide tactics. It's a tough game and honestly both are performing not as expected especially Chelsea and with current situation I also think Liverpool has the edge here but you can't rule out the Champions league winners here. It would be a tough and thrilling contest. Two best sides of the PL clashing at the start of the New Year is just perfect. Manchester City are onna comfortable seat with quite some lead on the table but today's game is crucial as we will get to know who has the chances of getting to Manchester City on the table.

The first tie ended a draw between both sides, Liverpool came from behind scoring a penalty.
After lossing against Leicester City I still expect same defeats here once more.

I think what makes it hard for both Liverpool and Chelsea is that Manchester City keeps collecting those points. They know that the championship is pretty much over, so now they just can compete for the CL qualifiers. Both teams have so high ambitions that it is bad for them to already lose sight of Manchester City. At the same time there is also the gap to Arsenal. Bad situation for both. I don't see City losing many games this season. A couple of weeks ago someone said City lacks the offense. Well, now they got the best offense and the best defense in the league and that does not surprise me at all.

In this match, they actually played quite well, especially when they scored the opening goal in the first half.
But it was a mistake in the penalty box and an unnecessary red card to be one of the reasons they failed to maintain their lead.
At the moment they are still not safe in the top 4 position at this time because it is only 1 point from West ham who played quite well by beating Crystal palace some time ago.
But this also makes City stronger by leading 11 points from Chelsea in 2nd position
