<...>Aston Villa won against Liverpool 7-2 <...> Manchester United scoring 9 goals to Southampton. <...>
somehow we're getting used to seeing these type of scorelines in the best league in the world 🤔

You're right, It's 9 heaven for united, and It was a pleasure to watch Manchester United tonight. Manchester United are known for record breakers, and this confidence boost into their next game. I still can't understand what the heck was going on with Southampton, couldn't make any score and lost 9-0?

Well they were a man down from 2 minutes into the game so that played a big factor.
seems like Hasenhüttl thought he could follow the same gameplan/tactics he had prepared before kick-off with just 10 men, but he failed miserably, poor guy didn't learn anything from that 9-0 beating by Leicester a little over a year ago...sometimes you just gotta know when to park the bus and simply defend, unless you're Bielsa of course, then you can keep going on the offence the entire game  Grin

With the big victory of Manchester United, at least it is an additional note because if we look at its history, Manchester United have won with the same score 9-0 in the past to be precise in the 1994/1995 season. But unfortunately, that season Manchester United only finished runner-up because the winner was Blackburn.
https://www.flashscore.com/match/rqhQyBPu/#match-summary

On the other hand, with this big defeat, it turns out that it is also an additional note for Southampton because in the previous season (2019/2020) Southampton also lost by Leicester with the same score 0-9.
https://www.flashscore.com/match/YmkwXXUS/#match-summary

Does the result prove that Manchester United will remain a strong candidate for the EPL title, because I think this is the same moment even though Manchester United are in 2nd position but in fact it will not be easy because the city rivals still have 2 matches left or a savings match which of course will be profitable.

~snip~ I did not expect this defeat of the arsenal. when I bet on the arsenal I was very convinced that the arsenal would win easily. I lost money ~
Victory of Wolves was unexpected for me too. Arsenal was favourite and strong team in that match. I have also placed a bet on arsenal with confidence but lost that like you. Though I won the bet which I have placed on sheffield united. I chose sheffield as they have won against Manchester United recently. BTW, Manchester United got an excellent victory today! I think no one even imagined like that.
I did not expect wolves to win either because of the none winning streak they were having but i was not surprised since that what they needed as we know last year they were performing well and they have the potential to do even more.

If no red card for Southampton, the game will surely be different and difficult for Man United to win, but likely Man United may still win also. But I do not see any bias in the game while Alexandre Jankewitz collected red card at 2 minutes after the match started and followed by Jan Bednarek in the 86th minutes. If that is the case, this should not be considered as a reason for not to win the game. The match was won because Man United was so tough on Southampton.
It is easy to assume different result with different conditions but in soccer, everything and result can occur. Does Brazil, Barcelona or Manchester United need a red card to be destroyed by Germany (in World cup 2014), Bayern Munich (in Champions League 2020), Tottenham (in Premier League 2020 - 2021)?

In this season, Manchester United has a sinusoidal forms, ups and downs and you can not say any good prediction for them.

Another bad match from David Luiz. He is an old defender, has many experience but lack of carefulness and deep concentration. Sometimes he makes fool mistakes and caused penalties, red cards. He scored some amazing goals but it is not main roles of a central defender.

I understand why Mourinho did not trust David Luiz, and how Luiz lost his position in PSG.

sheffield united won

Manchester United 9 - 0 Southampton

unbelievable, it looked like manchester united was on the field alone

I think Sheffield deserved to win the game. West Brom got ahead 1-0 but Sheffield turned the game around. Sheffield had a very nice performance.
After D. Luiz was sent off, Wolves managed to turn the game around and won. Leno also was sent off. The red cards were unlucky and weird also. D. Luiz made a bad choice by causing a penalty there. Leno got a red card by an amateurish mistake also.
Manchester Utd played really superbly. Southampton played with 10 players for a long time but I didn't expect a result like this. Southampton got their second 9-0 loss after the same loss against Leicester last season.

I feel sorry for Arsenal when they had the game under control but a red card which could have been avoided compromised their game and finally led them to a lost game.
English refs are the worst I don't know why VAR was introduced in the first place, I thought it was introduced to correct mistakes like this one because the Red card to David Luiz was uncalled for. They might win the appeal but the match is ruined forever.

Well it should be used for obvious errors but it's being used for everything, and checking every goal is overkill and unnecessary. It's made the game worse for sure. It takes far too much time out of the game which was already an issue. They should go to a system where each team gets three appeals to check something and once they've used them that's it. It wouldn't be so bad if VAR always got the calls right but we're still seeing mistakes and offsides given for being a millimetre offside and sometimes if they had a better angle ie one straight down the line it probably wouldn't even be offside half of the time.

@onecall123 it was evidently clear that the referee decision went in favour of Manchester United, first that early red card, then that disallowed goal and a bizarre second red card ended the match for Southampton.

Also I believe that Southampton manager will be under tremendous pressure, and more bad results like this could lead to his sacking.

Obviously this will be a bit of pressure on the Southampton coach as it was a heartbreaking defeat and maybe a good record with the loss of the goal and the odd thing is that Southmapton can't get a goal back 90 minutes.

Manchester United are now getting stronger and more confident and I think this is when Ole becomes a great coach in the middle of the season and has started to show a good strategy, but for me it's quite safe for Manchester he might be happy with a new victory and feel in heaven.

In fact, the most surprising part is to not see only Southampton losing vs ManU but seriously 6-0 with 15 minutes left! ManU is humiliating them badly tonight!

9-0 for the final score and Manchester United set the record for the highest number of goal scored in a single match this season. This 9 extra goals are great to secure higher position in case points are tied.

Its clear that Manchester United was the favourites to win the game but I guess no one was really expecting 9 goals. Southampton is actually a decent team and Im not sure whats going on here but In case anyone didnt notice yet, Southampton has lost 4 times in a row
I didn't expect Southampton to be beaten with more than 4 goals honestly especially regarding the overall performance it showed this season. Lately they started dropping points but 9-0! That was beyond everyone expectations!!

Honestly Southampton can't find any excuses to what happened yesterday, you have to play with 7 players vs 11 to try to convince someone that receiving 9 goals is OK! such humiliating score shouldn't be seen in the first devision of any league, even worst to see it in EPL...

Yeah it was beyond everyone's expectation. So far there are few such cases, Aston Villa won against Liverpool 7-2 was something that no one really expect would have happen and then we have Manchester United scoring 9 goals to Southampton. Manchester United lose to Sheffield and although it was a lucky win from Sheffield and I am supporting Manchester United, I still dont believe that 9 goal is possible against Southampton

I am happy and confused at the same time when I check the score. I didnt watch it, too bad though

Manchester City are going to play an away game against Burnley tonight. Manchester City are still the leader (despite having 2 games missing) with 44 points and Burnley are the 15th with 22 points. Manchester City lost only once in away games so far (5W 3D 1L). In the last 5 head-to-head games, Manchester City demolished them in all of the games.

Missing player(s) at Burnley: Charlie Taylor, Josh Brownhill, Ashley Barnes (2 goals), Chris Wood (4 goals)
Missing player(s) at Manchester City: Nathan Ake (1 goal), Kevin De Bruyne (3 goals), Sergio Aguero

Burnley have important players missing for this match. So, I think they will have big problems on scoring. I think Manchester City will beat them easily here.

It's true that Manchester City's away record is very good with only one defeat, and 8 games in a row in the Premier League won all. With this data,
it is enough to prove that Manchester City's chances of winning the match are high. So Manchester City facing Burnley is Manchester City's chance
to get 3 points easily.

So that Manchester City points away from the points that Manchester United have. Even though Manchester City lost 3 players, however,
Manchester City's reserves are not much different from the main players. So it is not an obstacle when Manchester City have to play without Ake,
De Bruyne and Aguero.

Today Burnley hosts Manchester City while Liverpool host Brighton; both ties are tricky ties for Manchester city and Liverpool and i think there could be surprise results tonight. Do you think Manchester City will go back top of the league? Can Liverpool get a win  now that they got new defenders and Jota is back?

today's games:
Wolves - Arsenal

I bet the arsenal will win that game
In the last game, Wolverhampton Wanderers won in Emirates Stadium. it will make wolves be confident to create the winning at least in the home. no one knows wing left Neto, he has dribbled skill as Ronaldo has, he still top-scoring in wolves and will create a goal either. I bet on Wolves today.
One big omission in your analyses, Wolves had Jimenez when they beat Arsenal first time. Wolves without Jimenez are toothless squad and Arsenal has started playing a lot better. We shall see how this one goes but Arsenal is closer to victory tonight for sure.
Thanks, but I got the correct prediction and return me back 500%  Grin, Neto didn't create a goal but he successfully destroying the opponent's and David Luiz incidents seems like a controversial judgment but in a fact wolves as the winner.

An incredible match just ended. Manchester United beat Shefield United 9-0. At the beginning of the match, there were 10 players left with the Shefield red card. There were 9 people who received a red card in the 86th minute. He also conceded 3 more goals in the last minutes and lost the match 9-0.
They won against southampton not shieffield,we can't blame them since they were playing with 10 people we all know that southampton are a good team i hope they will get over it soon as for man united they must not lose more points from now on

those red card in early game may change the tactics and southampton gameplan here. if alex jankewitz not receive a red card on early game the result might be different.

The result would've most likely been the same, but the goals? Not so much. Southampton had been one of best team in the PL season and gotten some good wins to go with it like when they won Liverpool a couple of games before. Obviously, Man Utd would've won the game yesterday. Ole fielded a strong line-up with a packed up bench. You could tell they wanted that win so bad. It's just unfortunate that it became too easy for them thanks to that Jankewitz red card. When you get a red card that early, it affects the whole team energy. It's like you lose the game before you even lost it.
