Tomorrow I might take a risk and bet on the express - a win for Chelsea and Man City...
Yesterday, by the way, there was no sensation and Southampton confidently beat Sheffield... Congrats to everyone who won with them! Wink

very terrible results from Arsenal.
You would expect more from them especially at home against a mediocre team like Burnley.
Making them snatch 3 points to get out of bottom 3.
Football critics now should be now turning their heads towards Arteta as he is not getting the results he is expected to deliver
Hahahaha, very funny way for you to put it, describing Burnley as a mediocre team. A mean, last season, Burnley was terrifying to me, I could neither place a win or against them bet for me. They were very challenging and they often dragged there games to a draw. I still carry that feeling about them and as such, them having this kind of result against a team you can't say if it's really a top team isn't that surprising.
It's just so bad that Arsenal has been in the game for this long and haven't really earned a place to be title contenders. I guess this is why critics haven't really faced off with Arteta. When it comes to Arsenal, its just a matter of doing enough to stay in business. A sad one for the fans who are expecting a lot though.

Arsenal 0-1 Burnley
Leicester 3-0 Brighton

Good game for Leicester city, Madison might have had the day but, Jamie Vardy always finds his way to get on the list and he still remains the man for me. Well earned 3 points.
a lot of teams that were performing well last season seen a drop like Sheffield and Burnley but this season they are not getting the results.
Sheffield lost some key players and Burnley didn't recruit any player worth mentioning. For sean dyche his performance last season has deceived him.
It's true that we are not even near half the games in but before this game Burnley had 6 points from 11 games and only 5 goals scored in them so that statistics is alarming.

Yeah, Tottenham is really coming at the worst possible time for us. I'm surprised as well we've got so many injury issues, it's a specific season but this is way too much.

I hope Thiago will be able to play because we might be forced to put Henderson in defence. Williams is a good potential but going against Kane might be a bit too much and Nat Phillips is simply a guy to fill out the numbers. If we put him in, he will lose us the game.

Another problem is that Jota is out and we can't rotate the attack, they all played a bad game against Fulham and will probably be tired, so we can't expect to outscore Spurs. Only good thing is that we're playing at home, and in front of some fans. Hope it will be enough, I'd be happy with a draw at this point.

Not confident about us (Liverpool) beating Spurs Wednesday. We’re absolutely decimated by injuries, I’ve never seen a team suffer an injury crisis like it, it’s really ruining my enjoyment of this season. I’ll always be there cheering my team on but the injuries coupled with covid & mostly empty stadiums really blows.

Edit - VAR is ruining everything too.

December has always been the toughest month when betting on Premier League: too many games in a short amount of time. For LFC Spurs I would go for an under 2,5 goals while I could agree with the other results.
Another game for me would be West Ham - CP where I see the hammers winning

And even worse during Corona season. I think teams who had injuries earlier on may actually benefit from the season later,,, me I am always worried for the seasonal Kane injury that must come sooner or later. If we can protect him and Son, Spurs can go really far, but we always have this injury problem and I can feel it bearing down on us at some point.

Just need to win against Liverpool for a cushion.

I think all the rating are a bit skewed. I'm sure we normally see some 8.4's also

And looking if its this guy you mean,

I see he didn't play last game but sure enough he did an 8.4 a few games back so probably raised his averages there.

With all the weird losings and draws the players table is a bit jumbled but averages will win through.

Kane seems to have taken his spot and DeB is always there too

I think Liverpool was the biggest surprise of the week in the Premier League. However nothing changed in the standings as both Chelsea,Tottenham and Manchester City didn’t manage to win in their respective games. It looks like this year Liverpool will not be going a lot of points further and it is going to be an open Premier League till the end of it.
We continue to be surprised by the unexpected results in the English premier league. Liverpool should win a game that look easy for them. Despite having 75% possession of the ball, they weren't lucky enough to score. 6 shot on target did not result in a goal, until finally they had to settle for 1 point after Salah's penalty goal. The standing look quite tight, whether it will last until the end of the season or not.

I think it too, they didn't play very well, that's what went wrong. They had no luck but at the same time they looked different than they did last season. It seemed like an easy game for Liverpool to play, but it turned out to be more complicated than we expected.

Maybe it was a bad idea to replace Unai Emery with Mikel Arteta to be in charge of Arsenal, when Unai Emery was in charge of the team, at least Arsenal are still able to compete with other teams for a spot on the table in order to qualify for the Uefa Europa League.

The worst team in choosing a new coach from "a player who has just retired as a player", I feel Arsenal are the most wrong in choosing a coach. In the history of several clubs that have used new coaches from retired players, as far as I know, they have not reached a few strips above the relegation zone, at least they can still be in 1-10 of the standings. Arsenal must change their decision immediately, it's better to try to warn Arteta or fire him immediately to keep their chance to the UEFA League next season. His strategy doesn't works and now his relationship with several players are not good.

Not only Liverpool that made me surprised, only able to draw with Fulham, but Tottenham also who were in top form could not win
the match against Crystal Palace. Not to mention surprisingly Chelsea were beaten by Everton. I think a lot of surprising results from
Premier League matches from last weekend, therefore the struggle for the Premier League trophies this season is very wide open.
This year we have too many surprising results in this Premier League and many teams trying hard for finding some space but some are really going down miserably like Sheffield United Burnley was very good in last season but currently struggling very badly and team like Arsenal is also have nothing to cheer as they are breaking some records.

25 points for Tottenham and Liverpool but Spurs have 5 more goals than Liverpool. The next position is for Leicester City with 24 points and the fourth position is a big surprise because it is hold by Southampton with 23 points.  Chelsea is standing at the fifth position with 22 points.

Next 3 clubs have 20 points are: West Ham, Manchester United and Everton with 20 points. The next one is Manchester City with 19 points.

I can not believe it when I looked at the table. The gap from 1st to 9th position is only 6 points. The Premier League is very interesting and competitive in this season (2020 - 2021).

Do not forget that ManU and Man City still lacks 1 more game comparing to others, there is also Villa + 2 other teams that still lacks at least 1 more game. So basically winning 3 points for Manchester's teams could make them jump to ~5th or 6th position.
Tuesday - Thursday matches are quite hard to predict for most teams, Wolves - Chelsea, Liverpool - Spurs, +/- Arsenal - Southampton and Leicester - Everton... Seems we will see more surprises! Wink

At this point it wouldn't be far fetched to predict that Liverpool and Spurs will draw next week and that Southampton will beat Arsenal.

Maybe Chelsea will draw a third time, given that Mason amount, Giroud and Werner haven't been shooting as well as they had been expected too. In matches against stronger teams like this one, Wolves usually scored a single goal.

I expect Man City to win over west brom tomorrow so I could use that to rejuvenate my bankroll.

What really went wrong with Arteta's initially promising tactics when he had just joined Arsenal?
A few things:

  • Usually, when new managers are in charge, players tend to perform better in order to impress their manager.
  • Arteta changed his tactics from parking the bus and counterattacks to position and full-on attacking styles while lacking the creativity department and that exposes our defense easily.
  • Auba got the contract he wanted and now isn't putting enough effort.
  • He's inexperienced when it comes to dealing with players of different generations and backgrounds.

how will they defeat in-form Southampton next weekend?
By dropping the right players [Auba, Bellerín, Holding, Willian and etc...] and replacing them with more of our UEL players that happen to be a lot younger than these clowns.

the board should take a drastic decision now before that team becomes subject of ridicule.
They always wait till it's too late to sign a good replacement like Allegri.

is it possible to added Ozil in the list of squad at the middle of the season?
Based on Arteta's comment, looks like they could recall players in January.
