Not confident about us (Liverpool) beating Spurs Wednesday. We’re absolutely decimated by injuries, I’ve never seen a team suffer an injury crisis like it, it’s really ruining my enjoyment of this season. I’ll always be there cheering my team on but the injuries coupled with covid & mostly empty stadiums really blows.

Edit - VAR is ruining everything too.

Congratulations to you from a Spurs fan. I only watched the first half,,, it was so late for me I could not stay up because of work. I checked results when I woke up and saw we lost. We had one attempt and at one point only 18% possession,,, Mourinho tactics did not work in the end. Anfield is indeed the fortress that it is legendary for,,, and the way you guys play you deserved the win. I personally thought Son's goal was offside too.
Yea I saw it at it and it is still hard to conclude exactly if there was an offside or not. Both teams have few good opportunities with nice saves from the goalkeeper and the bar Tongue LFC won this crucial game and started running from the others although injuries. Tomorrow, ManU will face Sheffield, a team searching for its first win this season which becomes almost a dream Undecided

Exciting to see liverpool on top of the table, hope they stay there till chrismas and beyond, jose mourinho mind games did not work again against klopp, remember he was bluffing off the fact that liverpool has injury problem, but liverpool still took the win, am excited by what spurs are doing this season but the league is not there's, and every other contender are struggling, its liverpools two league titles in a row.

I really dislike Mourinho’s style, imagine being a Spurs fan & regularly watching that rubbish. They make 0 effort to really attack against the better teams. They rely on a mistake or a long ball to counter attack. Spurs are a poor mans Atletico Madrid. I’m glad they lost, that style of play will usually lose to a big team that plays the right way.

Nope, not really fair to them. Yes, they are a counterattacking team, but yesterday's gameplan was to counter Liverpool. They do not always play like that, with so little possession.
Liverpool played really good yesterday, but if you look at the chances - Tottenham had the better ones. If you have quality in the team (and they do, although mostly through Kane and Son), that's the best chance approach if you want to beat Liverpool.

Atletico is a whole another level of horrible, dull football - there's no team alike.

Mourinho have been doing this thing - I mean parking the bus and wait for a good counter to capitalize on. It worked against Manchester City, it worked against Arsenal but it didn't worked against Klopp. I think most of us already knew what Mourinho was planning. I think there were was quite a good chance for Begwijn but it hit the post and in injury time Firmino punished Spurs with fabulous header. Good game played by both teams. I love the counter attacking movements of Tottenham. The movement in Son's goal was very good.

Are you sure that Totenham had more chances to score goals than Liverpool? I did not watch the match to be honest but I just checked the statistic of the match on two different websites (flashscore and livescore). Statistic shows that Liverpool was dominating the game with more ball possession, more goal attempts, more shot on target etc. So do you mean to say that the statistic provided by these two website is completely wrong?

Very happy liverpool won. Liverpool at their original position. Liverpool has all it takes to defend the league, Totteham were to small for Liverpool. Mourinho and Tottenham can't explain what they saw tonight. Jurgen Klopp remains the current best. BTW! Did you agree with VAR decision?

Congratulate Liverpool for their 3 points but it is not an impressive win from them. Tottenham has more opportunities to score goals in the match. Liverpool has some opportunities too but Tottenham have more. In addition, the equalizer from Mo Salah has support from luck. If Mo did not score that goal, Tottenham might have good chance to do their counter attack. In the second half, Tottenham had some chances to a lead (from Bergwik, Kane) but they missed all.

Anyway Liverpool do their works very good and take a 1st position and it makes more sense if we know they lost Van Dijk since early of this season.

it looks like liverpool is already starting to distance itself from opponents:

 Grin

after defeating tottenham, I don’t see the next 7 teams beating liverpool, it may be that aston villa tries to surprise, manchester united is a team that sometimes manages to surprise, but I don’t see manchester united beating liverpool, so I think that next 7 games will be easier for liverpool and will make liverpool a long way away from opponents, it is enough that opponents lose games. it will not surprise me that liverpool has a big advantage over all teams and become once again champion

Beautiful results tonight from the EPL; and there are clear signs already about teams in contention for the title, Liverpool won at home to spurs to maintain their home unbeaten record and  also to lead with 3 points  in first position. Arsenal are clearly relegation candidates and this doesn't seem to change soon. Arsenal needs to get a better manager and recall Mesut Ozil (who without playing any match this season, remains top of chart for chances created for arsenal since last season).

Leeds clearly dominated Newcastle on the counter; while Everton has won 2 consecutive matches for the first time in 5 games.

Unefortenetly arsenal are late in score another time and this time againts southampton after walcotte goal in the first 20 minutes of the match...lets see the reaction of arsenal players in the second half
Arsenal scored a goal in the second half. But one of their main defender Gabriel Magalhaes is now out of the field after receiving a red card. Arsenal have less than one player now. I think this is a big opportunity for Southampton. They should win this match.
The situation of Arsenal is now becoming pathetic, who is going to bail out this team? their disciplinary record in EPL is getting out of hand Arteta is also becoming clueless with the players getting Red cards in all  matches, If Arteta is not getting things right they should show him the way out else Arsenal  will start to battle relegation, they have never had so bad like this current season Ironically they won all their Europa matches but unfortunately couldn't transform that performance in the league.

I agree with you, Arsenal's situation is getting worse in the Premier League. Even from the last 6 games in the Premier League
Arsenal couldn't get a single win, it's a really bad performance. Moreover, Arsenal players have problems with discipline, getting
two red cards in these two matches is really embarrassing. Like Arteta's making Arsenal even more chaotic, in my opinion,
to improve Arsenal's situation the best way is to fire Arteta.
Just firing Arteta is not better solution first of all they need to check where is problem and then try to have some good solution because they are still very good in Europa League group leader and about red cards its very old business when Wenger was incharg they have same problem too many red cards but situation is more worst then Wenger's era.

I wont be surprised if Tottenham ended up only getting around 30-32 % ball possession against Liverpool today.
If Liverpool relied on possession during the game against Tottenham then I think they will drop point tonight. I want them to be aggressive tonight and not look boring.

Your statements are contradicting each another. If you want to see Liverpool play aggresively that means they will have the higher ball possession percentage compared with Tottenham because Liverpool will be having the ball most of the time . Tottenham only has 23% ball possession after 57 minutes so far.

Tottenham will definitely rely on counter attacks that will be very dangerous for Liverpool's defense.

Thats how Tottenham won against Manchester City and Arsenal. Despite having only around 30% ball possession but it was  a pretty good counterattack. Even Son's goal on this match is from a counterattack, well I was pretty sure that he was offside though but there is no VAR review from the officials

Leicester's ambition to occupy the top of the standings was blocked by Everton...

The current top 2 teams Tottenham and Liverpool are going to fight tonight in Premier League. But i think the Spurs has the advantage as Liverpool is facing serious injury problem in their squad. My bet is on Tottenham.
The first half is not over and the score is currently Liverpool 1 - 1 Tottenham. Tottenham plays very determined to keep their position at the top of the standings.

Son has practically been causing Liverpool a whole lot of problems on the break, I'll still give Liverpool the edge btw, they have been better side, Tottenham haven't been playing terrible too. Liverpool real just need to contain Son and not afford him luxury of space.

6 matches = 2 points, nice Arsenal really, impressive...
Leicester failing against Everton wasn't expected too and with 2 goals to 0..
Leeds did a good job and destroyed Newcastle with 5 - 2
The most awaiting match is now between LFC and Spurs, fingers crossed!
If we have draw in Liverpool vs Tottenham then surely both teams could be happy because after this result Spurs surely going to stay on top and injury hit Liverpool feel some comfortable as they will on second position with goals differnce. Arsenal is miserablly going down very badly and if they are not improving this then surely they are going in relegation zone in coming days because now gape is closing and they have to do some better then this current form.
