It is indeed because of the EFL cup, that had escaped me. Do not think that both teams attach great importance to this. Yet Manchester City B is still much stronger than Arsenal B. Perhaps also than Arsenal A.

I think either team A or team B, Arsenal is not a match for Pep City side; who are still upset about last year defeat to Arsenal due to counter attacking football and Auba masterclass lol. City won 4 goals to 1; with Martinelli only the positives for Arsenal

Arsenal has become like the teenager who went the wrong way. Whenever you advise her to reverse, she smiles in your face and goes on the basis that everyone makes mistakes, and it is not just her.
They have learned a very bad habit that is losing, so that when they score a goal they do not celebrate in a big way, as if they realize that their goal will not last for long,
This means that no one in the team trusts the second, and from here the chaos started in the first place.
The Gunners' defenders are incredibly naive, as soon as a striker moves, followed by three defenders, as if they have been invited to a wedding, while a striker comes from the back and easily scores ... these are far from anything called a tactic originally, and their team has become loaded with viruses and needs to be chopped.

The teams do not play with the main squads, but Manchester City and the reserve squad look very good. Manchester City should continue to fight in this tournament further, although perhaps your opinion is correct, for both teams the cup is not a priority.

As everyone already knows, Arsenal is having a disastrous season. They can hit the road up tonight if they beat City. City is a heavy favorite

Both Team would be using most of their reserve player instead of their usual main starting squad so dont expect everything to be smooth for both.

but Arsenal remains Arsenal and I think can still beat everyone.

Arsenal hasnt win any Premier League game probably for the last 6 games and this will affect all the squads. Having confidence is going to boost the performances of the players so can you imagine what would happen when your team keep losing especially to few Clubs thats inferior to Arsenal such as Burnley. That was probably the hardest blow that they suffered, own goal and lose the game to Burnley

They can't be relegated no matter how bad their current form and bringing a new and well known manager might add to their problem because the manager might start a rebuilding process in the team which might backfire and cause more damage and havoc to the club unless the manager is hired at the end of the season.

Of course, they can relegate if they continue to play like the way they played. Idk if they will go for massive transfers but this season is by far the worse for them.
Any thing is possible because its all about how you playing but right now things are going against Arteta because my personal feeling is now players don't like him so they are doing this all hopefully management will do some good decsion very quickly for better future of this club.

Arsenal that won all their Europa leagues matches unfortunately couldn't transform that performance in the league.
Winning 5 farmers home and away does not make them a better team when a team is not performing well or stopped getting positive results the first person you ask question is the manager. He is responsible for 80% failure of his team, what is happening at Arsenal is not about the quality of the players because they have the best finisher in the league(Auba) but suddenly he forgot how to shoot a shot, this whole thing started when the club and the manager excluded ozil from the squad. The simple thing is that the players are against Arteta and want him sacked the same thing happened between Conte and Chelsea players when he excluded Diago Costa from his team, sacking Arteta is the only solution or thing is likely to get worst.

EFL Cup = you never know Tongue
Less favorites teams can turn the table upside down and make the big ones embarrassed although they don't care much about this title comparing to European or EPL titles of course. Everton vs ManU is interesting also tomorrow.

100% true.
It all depends what kind of team Pep puts out & how seriously he takes it. He will of course have his eyes on the bigger prizes.

Arsenal has been this bad for a while now, they haven't been themselves for a while now and I am sure they are not going to be any decent for a while more as well. I think it is not going to come down to them relegating any time soon, they have too much money they make from their fame and brand that they are way above the championship level, if they ever find themselves in that position even if great name players do not want to play for them anymore, they could still pay top dollar for high level talent and go above easily.

So, I assume that best case for Arsenal would be to make better transfers at this point, find a decent manager that is big name and change the whole face of the club a bit. Because if they keep this up, they are going to be forgotten soon enough, in a decade no one will remember their name. Get a big name manager and some decent transfers and they will be great.
Buying two or three players in January transfer window is the best bet for Arsenal I think there isn't any problem with the manager, the present crop of players are not playing to their best and highest level coupled with lack of creativity in their midfield, this is the same Arsenal that won all their Europa leagues matches unfortunately couldn't transform that performance in the league.

Now this weekend we have a hard game between Leicester - ManU, Wolves - Spurs, Arsenal - Chelsea Wink
Its going to be a tough week and I'm having a hunch that the big teams are not going to do well in these games. Results from this games are going push big teams with little point difference down the EPL table.

We saw Wolves loose to Burnley this weekend after winning Chelsea so, it's very normal to expect a draw or win from them against Spurs in this encounter although coupled with the fact that, they've got the home advantage just like against Chelsea as well. It's going to be deadly, looking at the fact that Spurs lost there last game to Leicester city and are point hungry right now.
For Chelsea, it's going be a win for them.

I would bet all my chips on Chelsea, but as I'm broke this Christmas, I'll just watch and cheer.

I believe Chelsea, now qualified for the round of 16 of the Champions League, will give more attention to the Premiere League and need to win to reach the G-4. I also have no doubt if he becomes a champion here.

I think as long as the mathematics permit Chelsea and everyone else can dream and fight to become Champions of the Premier League. The difference with the leaders is just six points with many games to go.The New Year games will be very decisive for anyone fighting or pretending to be title contestants.

Liverpool was crowned a winner a few games before they last entered the field and this year it could be the same. Liverpool now have stood themselves as the prime contender and every team that could have challenged it are facing one set back and another. It's more like which of the rest teams would qualify for the UEFA and Europa cups.

Hello table and top players   Smiley

Please enjoy,

It is unusual to see Arsenal at the bottom of the table. But they have quite a few problems and it is not yet clear who and how will fix them. After Wenger, the team still cannot find their way. Despite the purchase of good players, the team cannot find a balance on field.

To sum it up, nothing is certain about any team any more in EPL. Same as other leagues. I think the only one to keep their form up this season is Bayern and Liverpool, although both were also hammered (4-1 Bayern and 7-2 Liverpool), though generally they haven't lost many games and are probably the most mentally strong. Guess we all just have to sit back and enjoy!
Well regarding the number of games played nationally and internationally by those teams, it is normal to see them failing sometimes Wink
In the other hand, teams that rest while the others play in CL and EL should take that advantage.

Full time - Chelsea 3 - 0 West Ham Utd.

I think Chelsea is back to winning ways now after putting 3 past West Ham this evening. It started with a Silva header that gave Chelsea the lead in the first half followed by an uneventful first half from either side. But towards the end of the game, 78th - 80th minute to be precise, Tammy Abraham netted twice to seal off Chelsea's win.
Chelsea are back but Timo Werner had a bad match in which he missed a few great opportunities to score. Werner has a good connections with his teammates but as a swingback and forward, he need to score. He need to score a few goals to get his confidence back and to avoid slip down further.

The Premier League is unpredictable now when Totettenham with 2 lost matches fall to 5th position and Manchester United jump to the 3rd position. Lots of things can change in one or two rounds.

Quote
If you watched the game, you would noticed Chelsea didn't play any impressive football throughout the duration of the match was only lucky to win by  3-0 due to the fact that West Ham team lacks a lot going forward. I mean, they practically had zero (0) shot on target all game.
West Ham has some chances to score goals but they failed or off-side.
