I'm a strong supporter of Liverpool and I think Liverpool's biggest contender is in the Premier League 2020/21 season. Liverpool strong from all sides because they do well in every division. I like the game of Mohamed Salah the best. I kept watching his game in amazement. Liverpool have claimed the title of Premier League champion this 2020/21 season.

^  Lol.  He's dreaming and prolly just talking for talking's sake.  And if anything, the dark horse this season could be Chelsea imho.  That Timo Werner acquisition is huge.

Edit:  Keita didn't work out well last season and it looks like he's still not working out well for LFC.  :/

Edit:  Cashed my ticket and the match goes to pens.  Perfect!

Edit:  The Gunners win it.

Minamino's first goal for Liverpool and not bad too, he'll take it! Hope this finally opens the floodgates for the man! Game on Liverpool, no handball, if anything a penalty =p I think the pressure's on the Gooners now. Let's see this out, shan't we Reds? All attack now, phew.

Being consistent is one of the key to keep the leading points and Manchester City was bad at being consistent last season. . No worries though, Manchester United will definitely Triumph every team on the premier league this season. Yes you read this correctly, Manchester United not City   Cool

Aubameyang really suits Manchester City. If he can do that much in Arsenal, imagine what he can do in an aggresive team like Manchester City  Tongue

Aye indeed. Liverpool's last two season's have been extraordinary in terms of consistency, I'm just hoping they do like Klopp says. Attack the title, not defend it.

United, eh? Let's see. They were stuttering towards the end of Europa!

Yes, they regularly did 4/5 goals against weaker opponents, but then struggled against actually good teams. We let in 33 goals but played 10 games with a keeper who wouldn't even be first choice in any big team

P.S. Damn Arsenal and Aubameyang. They must really be so happy to have been able to keep him.

Anybody watching the match?  Liverpool's getting owned by Arsenal rn.  It's 1 - 0 at HT but could've been more.  I still feel good with my Liverpool double chance and both teams to score combo tho.

Edit:  Second half started.  Let's see how Klopp adjusts...

We always do well when people write us off, let it continue. I think we’ll win the title again this season if we can avoid long term injuries. Our XI is the best in the league but admittedly City have better quality squad depth.

Amen, brother. I'll just rake in all the winnings as before. 9/1 to win Champions League. 5/1 to beat City. 3/1 to beat United. 4/1 to beat Bayern. 20/1 to progress against Barcelona. Everything suits me well!

And yes, we are strongest when we play the team that knows each other best in training, and that's really the only thing that can stop us: injuries. It may mean we'll never be able to properly challenge in the cups, but hey, if our young 'uns start grinding out the results, and our fringe players... I'm thinking Minamoto, Shaqiri, could really shine in the cups!

I'll be happy if we get the league again, but I'd love the CL double. Anything else is cherry on the cake, and then we build stronger.

Manchester City scored the most goals last season with 102 goals and 35 goals conceded while Liverpool only scored 85 goals with 33 goals conceded. Manchester City lose alot more last season but in terms of goal scoring, they were the best last season. If there isnt alot of changes for the upcoming season then I would say Manchester City should be pretty good this season

Yes, they regularly did 4/5 goals against weaker opponents, but then struggled against actually good teams. We let in 33 goals but played 10 games with a keeper who wouldn't even be first choice in any big team (Adrian, god bless him, but we really have no answer when our main man is down). So like I said, expected goals and expected points, City should have been ahead but they're simply not tactically as good as Liverpool when it comes to breaking down opponents.

P.S. Damn Arsenal and Aubameyang. They must really be so happy to have been able to keep him.

I can't wait for the 2020/2021 premier league season, I want to immediately see my favorite team Arsenal play.
Moreover, Arsenal have got Willian from Chelsea, I am sure Willian will make a good contribution to Arsenal.
And I am optimistic that Arteta can make Arsenal into the big four again.

Here's what I'm thinking...  Looking at the lines, how can Liverpool win by a lot of points vs City last season and still be the underdog vs City to win the EPL this season.  Huh
Man City is too strong. No matter how many points Liverpool had made in the previous season, the overall strength of Man city is way too high. Moreover, the rumor is being spread that Messi will come and join Man City this season. If this becomes true, who can stop them from being the championship of the next season? Well, we can't say anything before the match, mostly in football because everything can happen. BUt you cant run away from the truth that they are the strongest team at the moment

City 'too strong' but Liverpool won by a country mile.  And the current odds haven't included Messi in the picture.  I'm thinking possible misprice.

Anyway, it's the Community Shield in case you guys didn't notice.  I didn't.  A friend texted me just now 'bet Liverpool?'.  I'm like 'the outright?'.  Lol.

What do you guys think of the double chance Liverpool and both teams to score combo at 1.79...?

Mathematics and statistics. Liverpool have been overperforming in terms of expected points and goals, whereas City have been severely underperforming in the same departments.

In terms of overall quality as a whole team, I would Liverpool is indeed the best for now in premier league but Manchester City has few better players though

Bookies are mathematicians at the end of the day and they are expecting a return to mean this season, as they have been every season.

Me, I like to think both, and I'm happy with the underdog tag, always have been. Gives me good odds. There's math, and there's mentality, and there's teamwork, which don't seem to factor into odds;)

They lost the race early on, the points margin does not represent the true difference between these 2 teams.

On paper City has the better squad (more depth and variety) and it's normal that they are considered as favorites. Add to it that they are still negotiating for both Koulibaly and apparently Messi while Liverpool dropped out of the Werner deal and takes a long time to think about Thiago deal - therefore it's obvious that City will still strengthen while Liverpool might not.

If I had to put favorites for this season, it'd be City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd.

They dropped off to the end, were knocked out of the CL much earlier and City were on top form for the last month or so thrashing teams 4 and 5 nil including Liverpool. I think both teams will likely carry on their form for the next season with Liverpool being a bit shakey. I've just got a feeling City are going to run away with the league this year like Liverpool did, especially if they can sign Messi which if he is going to leave Barca City is where he will likely go. The first game against Leeds should be interesting. Liverpool should spank them, but if Leeds can get a point or more that could certainly be a cause for concern, and maybe give Leeds the confidence boost they need. Big teams can often be shaky at the start so nothing would surprise me.

If they sign Messi they’ll be favourites, 100%. I don’t see how they’re too strong atm though, does Nathan Ake pull back 18 points they were behind LFC last season, I don’t think so. David Silva has gone, Aguero & Fernandinho are another year older, 32 & 35.

They got humiliated in the CL by Lyon & they lost 9 games in the PL last season, they are far from unbeatable. They still haven’t replaced Kompany, there isn’t one leader in that team. When it’s going well, sure they’re great but when things go against them they are not a fighting team.

Is Messi really going to Manchester City? This will make City a prime candidate to win the Premier League title this season..Messi fits perfectly into City's style of play
I feel like this is too much, even the league hasn't played the first match Smiley.
Everything can changed, even though Pep has coached at Barcelona, it is not certain that Messi is suitable with other Man City squad to support him to look great in the team.

Is Messi really going to Manchester City? This will make City a prime candidate to win the Premier League title this season..Messi fits perfectly into City's style of play

They're already a prime candidate to win the premier league but one player is never going to guarantee you results. Messi didn't win Barca the La Liga or stop them getting stuffed by Bayern this year. Messi's style of play may not fit in well with the Premier League as well. No idea how he's going to fair in such a league. He's really not going to like a lot of the tough tackles and I think a lot of players will give him a hard time just to prove a point or because they think he's a primadonna. Regardless, I'd still like to see him at City and I do think he would be a huge boost to their team. I really just can't see him leaving Barca though. I think this is just a huge power play by him. Apparently the new manager allegedly said to him he wasn't going to get any special treatment and maybe that caused him to throw is toys out of the pram. I'm sure there will just be a huge shake up behind the scenes and Messi getting his own way and subsequently staying put. It's just going to be too messy otherwise (excuse the pun). There will probably be a long legal battle if he does try to leave especially since the clause in his contract that allows him to leave has allegedly expired, but who knows what that means due to the extension of the league due to coivd. City won't be able to stump up the fee Barca want otherwise so the only option is him likely going there for free.

Well if Messi moves to City, with few fix in their defence line and with Mehrez and De Bruyne, Chelsea will need to play with 15 players to avoid losing with 3 goals Tongue
But honestly Chelsea is doing great in building its team, we will see how efficient will be soon  Wink

If he joins man city, I am not sure if messi's playing style can fits with English football.
di maria and ozil, they are a stylish player. they failed.
aguero, he is a fighter. he can fit with english football style.

also if he joins man city, he will be under Ronaldo's shadow.

there will be 2 conditions if messi really join man city.
1. messi fail, he will be bullied by the world. it proves that Barcelona helps him all this time.
2. man city play well with Messi (win a trophy, let say UCL). it proves that messi helps Guardiola all this time.
