This is the fifth year running that Manchester City has dominated the EPL. Pep Guardiola has dominated over every single manager in the EPL including Jurgen Klopp, Mikel Arteta and others. But Erik Ten Hag sees things differently, he says Pep Guardiola is the only manager to have won more trophies than him in recent times. In the past two years where ETH has been Manchester United’s manger, he’s had two trophies to show in his acquisition. But by the standard of Manchester United, this shouldn’t be something to brag about. They have fallen down the pecking order. Manchester United Standard should be competing for league dominance and fighting for UEFA Champions league.

Looking at the stats and the performance of Manchester United in the last two seasons. Do you think Erik Ten Hag has bragging rights?

Come to think of it ETH is right, since he came to the EPL no manager have won any trophy that Man City are also competing and he has been the second best, where we have Arteta, Klopp and the others, you see him getting a trophy out of the two coaches so why are we saying he isn't the second best? Fine Manchester United haven't been pretty good but let's give the man some credit for the little he has done with the side by winning something no matter how small it is and some would want ETH to win the EPL title but he can't win it because they're not up to that level.
I know that in situations like this, the yard stick for measurements has and will always be trophies and of course if that's the case then Eric Ten Hag will always in most cases be considered to have been of a relatively good performance but then again a typical and technical point of view will show otherwise and the obvious will be that he's not that good, he manages to win some trophies I see as weak trophies, as a matter of fact, Manchester city contributed to him winning the FA cup last season so he still remains a poorly performing coach from my perspective. Others may not have won trophies but they have got a much stable team than he's got and their targets are not for any of the low ranking trophies ETH has won.

Today's latest pre-season match result for the Man City vs Celtic match is 3-4. Man City lost in that match, but because it was only a pre-season match, I can understand this result. This is the same as the defeat experienced by several strong teams from the Premier League in this pre-season match. It's just that De Bruyne doesn't seem in the pre-season match. But I see Pep Guardiola giving opportunities to several young Man City players such as Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, Jadel Katongo and several other players. And that was their debut in the Man City senior team. And even though Man City lost that match, it seems like Pep Guardiola was quite satisfied with the performance of the young players in that match. And it seems that victory is not the target of this match.
Maybe for some teams it's an indicator to win a preseason game, but I think it's just to appease themselves, nothing more. For serious teams, it's a chance to release those players that the coaches will definitely not release in EPL matches, because every match is important there and a mistake by a young player can cost a defeat in the end. So the appearance of new players today is a good sign

Guardiola experimented with his squad in this match. So I am not at all surprised that Manchester City lost this match. But I thought City could draw the match. But in the end, Manchester City lost the match by 4-3.

Celtic's two strikers Kuhn and Furuhashi performed well in this match. Kuhn had 2 goals and an assist. Kuhn performed very well in this match. Kuhn's performance helped Celtic beat Manchester City.

Manchester City's defense did not have any experienced players in this match. We don't see Walker, Ake or Gvardiol in the squad. If these three were in the city's defense, Manchester City probably would not have conceded three goals in this match. City's attack was strong in this match but City's defense was weak. The Celtic players made good use of this opportunity.
Many young players had their quality tested by Pep Guardiola in the match against Celtic where Luke Mbete was given the opportunity for this match but in this match he really failed to defend well because statistically Celtic were able to shoot 13 shots and 6 were on target. So in terms of the team's performance in that match, of course Pep Guardiola can learn a lot of things because the defense line is very fragile which makes it difficult for them to dominate the course of the game in this match.

Of course, if all the main players play, Manchester City can definitely win this match, but friendly matches are not important matches so defeats and wins are a review for the coach to assess the players who rarely get playing minutes.
Erling Haaland also scored a goal in this match and he also had several good chances but his shot was blocked by Schmeichel.

The same Manchester City that I know were beating by a club that last won a trophy in there gallery since 2018, no way but I will assumed this is a friendly match and it's not always that serious match but then again, the way Manchester City played made it look like they were serious but they didn't do much, the way Haaland even score his goal was a serious one or could this be a sign that city will perform well in this match.

There are some players that are not back from international matches, they weren't even available to be substitute when there is emergency substitutions else I'm not sure Manchester City will lose match easily to any team especially another one from a club that is has been long they won a league for their club.

It's just a friendly match and we can't understand anything from it. Manchester City had good players but they are in team training and the team is not in the good form yet. I think Manchester City could easily win this game against a team like Celtic if they had players in the good form.
Manchester City lost the game but I think Guardiola used this match to have the team in the better form to have a better performance in the next season.
The interesting thing about this match is that Haaland scored a goal in a game which is not important like he always does.

Ten Hag, the man is okay, a kind man, good with the players, I find. But gaining a few domestic cups? That is old Trafford child crap. We are discussing the most prestigious club on Earth! They should be vying for everything with all the money they have spent, not content to accept leftovers. See the rivals. city, Arsenal, even Liverpool under a fresh management. Each of them is defining the benchmark. And Ten Hag also? He lags behind. Klopp's gone now; Slot's in; Ten Hag has pressure to perform. Thats it: if he cant even beat Liverpool next season, he is out. There are no more excuses. There are the players, the tools, the supporters, etc. Ten Hag needs to stand up or step out now. If he cant, well, thats just dumb. And dumb doesnt win at Manchester United.

Ten Hag tried his best to see that Manchester United succeed in these trophies, but still, to me, it is getting worse because United are not even getting to the top of the table. I just think if Ten Hag cannot do it, he should hand it over or leave because Manchester United are not even competitive again while other teams that Manchester United were even better than are topping the tables and doing well.

Although I don’t underrate Ten Hag for his job, I just feel like he’s getting too much as a fan. I want to see improvement than this. We are not what we want. We are tired of waiting.

Enzo Fernandez after winning the Copa America with his national team Argentina posted a video on his social media account which appeared to be racist chants that targeted France national team players, the video drew criticisms from many especially from France internationals and some even had to unfollow him on social media. However, he has publicly apologized since fbe incident happened and today, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca as well as the captain Reece James in their interview has disclosed that Enzo Fernandez will be accepted back to the team when he rejoins with the squad after his summer holiday. It's a good news for Chelsea fans if you ask me but Fernandez who have been forgiven by all must be careful of his actions going forward so that  people don't see him as a racist

Man City must prepare a replacement for De Bruyne. But before actually finding a suitable replacement, De Bruyne must be retained in this squad. Because I don't think it's easy to find a player who can replace De Bruyne's role at Man City. The neat performance shown by De Bruyne after his injury also deserves the highest appreciation. Because usually a player will not be able to play well immediately after being injured. Because usually it will require some adjustments to return to best performance. But what we saw from De Bruyne was that he immediately returned to performing well and he even immediately contributed greatly by making good assists and even scoring a goal at that time. So I think in 1 or even 3 more seasons, Man City will have to keep it.

And if De Bruyne should leave, it will affect us because De Bruyne plays a very important role because De Bruyne does most of the job in Manchester City gives good assists and if Pep is bringing anyone in, the person has to be super good to be able to replace De Bruyne because I love him so much that I am sure even Haaland will miss him. I don't know how true it is about him leaving because nothing is official yet. and De Bruyne has actually experienced a number of injuries, and despite these injuries, De Bruyne continues to play at his best, as opposed to other players who will fall behind after a series of injuries before eventually improving. i just hope is not true that De Bruyne  is leaving and if evetually he leaves their will be adjustments for sure and i hope our new signing from girona will do well this new season but i trust pep when it come to selecting.

I fully agree with you that De Bruyne always plays a very important role in Manchester City every season, despite his age and injury issues that come up every season. I know that De Bruyne's injuries are getting worse season by season, and he is aging. As this situation continues, De Bruyne may plan to leave Manchester City. I hope that Guardiola will be looking for a good replacement for De Bruyne.

But the truth about Guardiola is that he always has a replacement for any player he has. Either he converts a current player in the team to play the position, or he gets a good replacement. Even last season, when De Bruyne had a long-term injury, I don't think it affected Manchester City too much. Let's see what happens before the season starts; maybe Manchester City will convince De Bruyne to stay.

I am not surprised by the result of the match. Manchester City losing a pre-season match doesn’t mean anything, it doesn’t mean that Manchester City won’t be performing well when the season starts. We all know that most clubs won’t be making use of their main squad in pre-season matches, they do make use of the players that they are always keeping as reserves, so we can’t conclude how a club will perform when the season starts. But I am still expecting Manchester City to perform well when the season starts, we shouldn’t start concluding that there is a drop in their performance just because of the pre-season match.

It is a preseason-friendly match that helps teams to prepare ahead of a fresh season. Results like this do come up in matches like this because we know that it is always not a serious one for any competition or title chase, and if you observe very well, Manchester City begins to show seriousness in the match when they are down by two goals, but unfortunately, they lost the match which is a good one because Celtic is also not a small team.

Next season will be a tough season because I have seen how Manchester United is signing players just to make their squad better than last season which is very good and I am impress because they are signing young players. Arsenal on the other hand hand just added a defender, and still willing to get a striker and replacement for Bukayo Saka so that the team will be balance.

Pep Guardiola was only experimenting and he has seen what he wanted to test out, we should be expecting more of this experiment in other preseason games. if this was a real game and not a training, Pep guardiola would had use his best team and won the game. I watched the game and I loved Haaland goal. He looks very confident and ready to resume from where he stopped last season. Manchester city are still going to be the dominant force this news season as it seems nothing has changed from their style of playing. They only lost by 1 goal and that isn't a big deal since this was just a preseason games with alot of young inexperienced talents playing.

The match is a friendly, therefore I'm not shocked that Celtic defeated Manchester City 4-3. If it's a tough match, Celtic won't have a chance of winning because Manchester City outperformed them. You can't join Manchester City and Celtic. Guadiola did not field his first eleven in the match, which is why they defeated them. I am confident that if Manchester City meet Celtic in the UCL next season, they will not have the opportunity to score a goal, and now that the UCl methods have changed, I do not believe they will be able to compete. The match is friendly game am very sure if Manchester City meet celtic in the UCL next season, i don't think they can get the chance and even score one goal and now that the UCl methods as change i don't think they can meet.

The match is just a normal game, and they are playing in the patch as if they are not from Mac-City. Let the league begin, and we shall know whether Manchester City has lost form or is simply performing poorly in the friendly. Is their recent loss in a friendly match against Manchester United still fresh in their minds Cool If Celtic play as well as they did against Manchester City, they will be able to win the league next season because I believe they have greatly improved and will challenge other league opponents in the league.

Normally, preseason matches are always played in order to know the strength of some players and to test them with big players in the team. The quality of play those young players exhibited has made him to be able to quantify the players to know how well they can do in big games when the season begins.

If preseason games will be use to judge most of this teams then the big teams that are losing to them won’t be able to do anything when the season starts. Pep Guardiola is a great coach and a very tactical one for that matter, so I don’t think this result can be use to quantify him at all for the next season. Manchester City are still major league contender in the premier league and the champions league, this result is nothing to compare to what their performance will be next season.

I would add, pre-season matches are often an opportunity for coaches to restore the fitness of their players before playing a full season after the League title. Plus, the coaches will play their young players to assess how much potential they have. like yesterday's City match, Pep Guardiola preferred to play some of his young players, especially in defense, and did not play his starting eleven in the match against Celtic. City's first match of pre-season, he will not immediately play the entire core team. Moreover, several names were not on the list of players for last night's match.

Referring to match statistics, Pep still uses the system he usually applies. It seems that there will not be many significant changes when City play match after match when the League has been rolled out. Apart from that, City still has the same squad as the previous season. Even though several names are rumored to be leaving, so far the closest is Ederson, the City goalkeeper. Well, we agree that this result has no impact whatsoever on Pep Guardiola's team. they just used this friendly match for everything Pep planned before the competition started, so City is still a team that is a threat both in the Premier League and in the Champions League.

With this loss, will people say that City is weak and needs to improve their performance, then that person does not know what he is talking about because this ore season matches are just to motivate the players for them to partake in a match before the season starts.

If it was United that lost their match, people will start criticizing him that he does not have the ability to win the match so what will we say in City defeat. All these matches are not what should be used to judge a club strength.

Eric Ten Hag have tried his best to have one those two trophies during his time as the coach of the team so far. Every team needs trophy and it was because of the FA Cup that he won that made him to have a contract extension with the club. Without that, he would have been kicked out by now. I don’t see his bragging as something bad but he should try and win the major trophies too so that when he brags next time, no one dares to question him and would be scared to look him in the eye to question his speech. FA Cup and Carabao Cup are also worthy trophies to take, if it was that easy, those other teams that are major contenders in the league title should also try and win them as ETH did. Let him brag, he deserves to brag to feel himself on what he has achieved so far for the club.
Ten Hag, the man is okay, a kind man, good with the players, I find. But gaining a few domestic cups? That is old Trafford child crap. We are discussing the most prestigious club on Earth! Maybe 1-2 years he can still stay at Man City. Last season De Bruyne rested a lot due to a hamstring injury. This made Man City a little bad and made a lot of small mistakes and lost 3 points. But in his debut after injury, De Bruyne appeared to be the team's savior. De Bruyne was also still able to perform well. But indeed, at the age of 33, De Bruyne is no longer a long-term investment. I think Man City should start looking for a replacement.

Looking for an alternative to Kevin De Bruyne should be the main focus of Manchester City if they’re still going to keep him for the next season. He has done tremendously well all the years he has spent with them in Manchester City and also made them triumph many times and also win the first champions league trophy with them. He might be of age now, but they can still utilize him for the next season as Pep Guardiola hasn’t gotten a replacement for him yet and if he leaves, Manchester City will really see the effect next season.

The two are clearly at different levels, if Guardiola managed Manchester United which contains current players, perhaps the statistics achieved would be very different compared to Ten Hag. Ten Hag still needs experience and how to manage a team with the right strategy. Guardiola has been very successful with Manchester City, while Ten Hag has not yet fully tested his abilities.

Ten Hag have only spent two years with Manchester United and have won two trophies in this first two seasons, I don’t think he has done that bad as a coach since joining Manchester United. Maybe we should also look at how far Pep Guardiola has gone with Manchester City in his first two seasons before we can rate Ten Hag success as not too good. He has more time with the team, I think he’ll do well going forward as the head coach of Manchester United than he has done now.

Both of them are great managers. Ten hag is more experienced than Arteta. He’s been in the game for many years now. Arteta took over Arsenal in 2020 and he’s been doing a good job with the boys for years now. Ten hag did well in his first year tbh. He wasn’t really lucky with injuries during his second term. I think he’s been pretty decent too. He’s gotten the club the Fa cup and the Carabao cup in two seasons now. It shows he can do more if well backed.

Arteta also deserves some credit. We can see progression curve and it’s obvious that the management trust him to continue. Honestly, I think this is the first time I’m seeing Arsenal contesting for the EPL title for two consecutive years. They’re reinforcing and improving the squad every year and the project has been decent so far. If they maintain that momentum, they’ll win something this season.
I would say that Arteta is far better, I guarantee you that if you give the teams to each other, like ETH for Arsenal and United to Arteta, and for the past 2 years you just try again, I guarantee you that United would have done better and Arsenal would have done worse.

Arteta brought the team to second place twice in a row, and while you may think that United is worse than Arsenal, half of that is because they have a bad manager. I get that people may not feel like that's the case, and I respect that, and I can't say much about it, but at the end of the day, it's just the truth and there is nothing we can do about it, it's just how it is. I believe that Arteta is far greater, not even close, never liked ETH at all because he looks like someone who is not only a bad manager, but from what he has said on media days and interviews shows that he is probably not a good person neither.

This is why I think it's important to figure out how to be a good person if you want to be a manager, that's what managing means, you need to manage the players, being head coach gives you responsibilities beyond just formation and strategy, you need to do a lot more and ETH has never mastered those kind of skills.
