I wouldn't bet big on Liverpool as I think it will be close, but I think they can get the job done there. If they can beat Barca 4-0 at Anfield then they can beat ATL, but away goals can be deadly. If ATL get an early goal the game will be completely different, but we've seen Liverpool can play under pressure in the Barca match and last nights game.

It's definitely risky putting big bets on LFC, as they showed they are not invincible.  The game at ATL was a good demonstration.  By all metrics, their statistics for the game suggest they should have one, time of possession, pass accuracy, 7 corners...  But they had 8 shots with none on target.  Atletico figured out some thing to stop the juggernaut.

I have no doubt that they will score at least two when playing ATL at Anfield, and proceed in the CL, but they're not going to get any thing fro free.  I imagine every club in the CL want to see LFC toppled, and will bring forth their best game.  Look at the inspired way West Ham played against them.  It's going to be like that for the rest of their EPL and CL matches.

VAR still has some controversies but I think overall it’s a good thing for the game. One thing is weird in the PL about VAR use, the referee doesn’t use the pitch side monitors. In other European leagues the referee gets to see the screen to decide on a big decision.

So it could be that the VAR can still be detrimental and also disadvantageous because it has validated its goal, if you don't see the pitc side monitor to make a decision by the referee then I think this is still not good and the referee can't determine what really happened in that restricted area.
VAR is still a tool to be used, but many teams do not want it.

Although Liverpool don't think about EPL anymore because it's already a champion (that's for sure) but for me this will be a tough match.
I wouldn't be so sure about that [I strongly believe they'll do everything to achieve the golden trophy in the premier league]...

Indeed, they've been instructed to avoid its usage due to long delays and as a result, we're stuck with low experienced VAR officials:

Firstly, referees have been told to avoid on-pitch reviews at the pitch-side screen whenever possible. These types of review are known to cause the longest delays. Instead, on-pitch referees have been told to trust the advice they are given by VAR.

Liverpool showed great spirit yesterday as they turned things around and won the game.I thought when they were in disadvantage probably they will at maximum equalize the game as I thought they were tired.I also think that they will win against Atletico and will qualify further in the Champions.

Gotta admit it guys,,, if anybody up to this stage felt they were lucky and relied on Var, let the statistics show you otherwise. Liverpool now have net zero effect from VAR after yesterday's Mane goal disallowed.

By contrast Manchester United have +8 and City have +2. And still cannot catch Liverpool.

All credit to you guys from a Spurs fan.

Man City fans like to use VAR as an excuse because they can’t accept that they’ve made an embarrassing title defence so far.

They haven't performed as true champions of the Premier League.
Still, making excuses about VAR is not a good excuse for a team such as Manchester City that has so many expensive players not even on the pitch but on the bench as well.

Liverpool has just been too good this season and that shouldn't be taken away from them. Their determination to win games has just been phenomenal to watch and when they have to be patient and not panic, you'll see them doing so perfectly. About the VAR discussion I think Chelsea has to be one of the unlucky clubs since in just the two last concluded games they got disallowed twice for offside goals and red card via an offense against Azpilicueta was denied and also a red card offense against Batshuayi was also denied by VAR.

Where are you getting the stats from (like which site) it seems like a nice stats to review, let's see those clubs this VAR bullshit is favoring while they push the LiVARpool conspiracy to discredit Liverpool superb dominance.

I think Liverpool will get to the 1/4 final, Atletico will defend deep & hope to catch them on the counter attack but I just don’t think they’ll be able to tame the beast that is Anfield.

I agree and I share the same idea.Atletico knows it stand no chance if they decide to play openly against Liverpool and that is why they will try to defend. They will think that we start the game in advantage so we should focus to keep the game 0-0 so we can qualify. However this will not be enough as Liverpool will be playing full power in front of their fans and this will be very difficult to handle for Atletico Madrid.

Even though playing full in front of his fans, Liverpool still have to worry because Atletico Madrid will not be easy just like that by losing to Liverpool, Atletico will survive as much as possible so that no goals will be created in that match.
Yes we know that Liverpool are an unbeaten team in EPL but that is not so easy in CL because the opponents are very heavy.

One thing i like about atletico manager, he knows what matters most is the result.
Which was why Trippier was not used, and Joao Felix was left on the bench equally. The first leg was a game of precision and giving little spaces to liverpool.  Because frankly, Liverpool game this season has been hit and run, give them little space, they will not thrive.

The return leg, will make Simeone change tactics to suit the  away end, It will be the same defensive 4-4-2, but expect liverpool to be pushed higher up the field, with Felix coming on early in the second half.

Liverpool cannot go for a full blown attack, because an Atletico goal at anfield, means a problem at hand.

I am eager to see the answers, klopp has for Atletico.

I still can't believe they lost to madrid. This is the same team that went without a single loss in the whole Premier league and they have already lost couple times in champions league. They also played all of their starter players this game as well (and glad they did) instead of resting them too. I guess they are really aiming at becoming the record holder for the premier league instead of focusing on champions league, sure they probably want that direly as well but from the looks of it the team that can beat anyone in premier league should be capable of beating madrid very easily as well.

On the next game we are going to see a wholely different liverpool, they will probably attack as much as they can and try to score as much as they can without caring about defense too much, I see that game as +3.5 goals over which would be a great odd play, I think at least 4+ or so odds for that many goals, probably more.

I still think that Liverpool will have an easy win.My argument behind this is that Liverpool has already won the Premier League from a long time now and Liverpool focus is not the Premier League anymore. Therefore Liverpool will be training hard and consider this game as the final of the Champions.I am confident they will not lose the chance to move forward and beside that Atletico is not in the form they were just a few years ago.

I also hope Liverpool continue to move forward to the next round but still they must be aware of Atletico Madrid because they are really different and hard to beat if they have played at CL Simeone always have a strong determination there.

Liverpool are too fierce for a team like West Ham this season because they havent  unbeaten by any team this season at the EPL. West Ham actually had the chance to defend their victory until the long whistle blew, but the instinct of scoring Liverpool players could not be blocked so 3-2 was a good result for Liverpool.

Liverpool might be destined to win the EPL title this season, but I am not sure they can also defend the UCL title this season and bring it back to England.
I think Liverpool's match against Atletico will be decided by a penalty shootout, We have seen the player method that Simeon relies on!!!And the luck factor remains the qualifier for the following roles.
I have no doubts about the quality of Liverpool players and their goal-scoring instincts, they are great at home and we also cant underestimate the strength and ability of Atletico Madrid when using defensive formation. Lets look forward to this match on March 12.

Therefore, one more interesting match is to compete at Anfield, Liverpool will not waste that opportunity, even though Atletico's opponents are difficult, they will try to optimize it to be more stable in the EPL champions and in CL, continuing to the final, which I expect. Even though I'm not a Liverpool fan, I like the way they play.
I know that other teams from EPL won't be able to chase Liverpool anymore because it's too far but if the CL trophy wins again the season then this will be a new record for Klopp.

It seems like betting big on Liverpool is no doubt at all.

Why do I say that on a bet for Liverpool because I believe Liverpool can put Atletico Madrid on home turf Liverpool have good confidence so this match will be so valuable to them.
I know this is a tough start if Athletico Madrid is able to score again maybe this will be even more difficult because Athletico is very strong in his defense like the first leg match.
Now maybe Klopp has read the Atletico game so that it thickened their strategy and could attack with a gap.

Last night we saw Liverpool players trapped on the field finding it difficult to reach the goal. So I expect to see the same scenario

Yeah Liverpool are more vicious at home Anfield we prove later in the second leg by lagging 1 goal for Liverpool it is not a difficult thing because it could have been at home more than his retaliation goal.
I believe even Liverpool will be able to reach the final of the CL this season because seeing the good performance from week to week, yesterday's defeat was just a little mistake in my opinion.
Believe in Liverpool he will prove it.

If there is any teams which can beat Liverpool this season, I think that will be a great achievement.
Looking for the rest of the games : Watford, Bournemouth, Cristal Palace, Aston Villa, Brighton, Newcastle ones are relatively easy games and Liverpool can win most of it with the help of substitutes imo.
However, Everton, Man City, Burnley, Arsenal and Chelsea ones can be hard and Liverpool will needs its main players in full performance to win.
Personally if i could secure the first place, i would concentrate on champions league instead and won't mind losing a game or two in EPL, unless they want a record lol
