^  Martial was getting some confidence back and was running good but Mou had to interrupt it by acquiring Sanchez.  He needs to be given more play time imho, same with Rash.

Edit:  If you were asking about the match, Mou's game plan was to troll the fans again.  Grin

Well look at that, I knew it was too risky to bet against United after that comeback against Rafa. Two teams left unbeaten, the preferable draw result was not achieved, but any outcome would have suit us. Can't watch anything this whole weekend so just watching live stats. Chelsea's possession game not looking good or Martial on form?

EDIT: WHAT? I saw FT score 1-2 and checked again and 2-2? Desired draw achieved haha... definitely need to catch up and read what happened! Should have changed to 2-2 FTW!

I think VVD will start, Salah too. I think Mane might be rested though. Really looking forward to the football today, going to go down Ladbrokes in a bit & get all my weekend bets on (don’t hate me cos I’m using fiat bookies haha).

Probably going to have a couple of accumulators & then come back & watch a load of games on TV all day ending with the big one (Huddersfield vs the Mighty Reds).

I would never hate you for that. All of my bets in Liverpool's last Europa campaign was with fiat. In fact, be stupid not to play at them British bookies with all the enhanced odds and free bets. I started with GBP10 on a 11/1 enhanced game, used the freebet to go all in again and again all the way till the final. And that was just from one bookie, opened many other accounts throughout my stay, very tidy sum. Of course, most of it splurged on the final, which we lost, but thanks to any time goalscorer enhanced (Sturridge at 5/1 if I recall), I still had a handsome sum to keep.

I like this United line up.  And yes!  Mata is playing where he should, as an AM.  Player for player, United actually has a really good roster of players imo.  They just need to gel as a team.

Edit:  Yup Mata.  He should be played more centrally as AM imho.

Chelsea vs Man utd - 16 min score 0-0 go for under 2.5 and under 3.5 goal as their will be very less goal both team to score goal no.

West Ham vs Tottenham - West Ham playing in their home ground so their should be score above 3 goals so over 2.5 goal is a good bet.

^  No injuries for Salah then?  But yeah, I think Mane picked up an injury or something, and Keita too.  Didn't read into them too much...  Was browsing the net, opened around 10 tabs of football news for 'later reading' and ended up not reading them.  Lmao.

Mane broke his thumb and had surgery on Wednesday, so the expectation is that he will miss this week but should be fine for next. Keita picked up a thigh injury against Rwanda is likely to be out for a minimum of 2 weeks. Salah also picked up a thigh injury during the international break, but it is minor and he is expected to play today.

So, Salah fine, Mane out for a week, Keita out for 2+ weeks.

@LFC Ya I have Chelsea at 2-1 too though might bump it to 2-2 or tweak thereabouts... Depending on team sheet. Pool's got a number of worries but I hope Dyche is right that Klopp likes to downplay fitness. Second season in a row we lose Mane after African competition, my real concern is Van Dijk and his ribs... He is the only one we can't do without IMO.

@Barcode, yeah I have been avoiding bets on Newcastle, really good manager and he has astute sense of the game but am also surprised he hasn't tried taking the game to opponents around Toon's level like he did in the Championship. Losing Jonjo early might have done that as he tends to rely on a midfield engine. Him attacking United demonstrated that (the only game I bet on and almoat won at over 9/1 odds if not for that magnificent comeback!).

I’ve got Chelsea to beat United, think I put 2-1 in our pool. I wouldn’t mind that game being a draw though so my boys LFC can gain points on both teams (assuming we beat Hiddersfield who haven’t won a game yet).
As a Manchester United fan,  I am very worried that this game came a bit too early for this team and with the whole confusion and division in the team, I am very certain that he Red Devils are going to lose this game and if they are not careful,  it's going to be by at least a three goal margin.

manchester united performance still bad
and must play away to chelsea home, i think chelseas is easy win
but mourinho can big prolem if lose with much goal margin
mourinho want result match minimum draw

Based on the recent performances, I am sure more people will support Chelsea to win in this big match. But the possibility for Manchester United to reverse the prediction of most people is exist especially in this type of game where the prestige is at stake.

I was surprised to see Newcastle United not able to win even 1 match out of 8 matches played, and the manager in charge of Newcastle United is Rafael Benitez, I would say he is a well known manager and he have even been in charge of other famous football teams in the past. Since Newcastle United would be playing against Brighton & Hove Albion FC with home ground advantage this weekend, I guess this would be the best opportunity for Newcastle United to claim their first victory in the English Premier League this season.

That's mostly Mike Ashley's fault.  He should commit a decent amount of money to acquire more players.  I'm not even talking about proven super stars.  But at least get the ones that have the potential they can develop just like what the Spurs or BVB does.

I have hospitality tickets for LFC vs Cardiff - 3 course meal with free drinks pre match & an hour free drinks after full time. Be my 3rd game at Anfield this season, looking forward to it. Not been since we beat Brighton 1-0 in August.

That's damn cool, I've never been in a private box or anything for a big game. Closest I've probably been is a game sitting in the balcony section at Leyton Orient  Grin

One of our sportsbook team just pointed out that 3/5 of the last Chelsea v Man Utd games played in London have ended 1-0 to Chelsea, which is making me feel a bit more secure about my picks for the predictor (although I usually take head-to-head stats with a pinch of salt, starting lineups and player attitudes can vary so much over time)

They had the chance of getting their first win against Manchester United but it was not to be afte Manchester United gave on their comebacks we haven’t seen since the time of Alex Ferguson. But against Brighton and Hove at home, they have a great chance of winning.

My speculation for Newcastle United will definitely win this weekend , because I saw Newcastle United ,is host against Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend so it's easy for Newcastle United to win

Anyway, you got any funny hunches on this weekend's matches?

Yeah, shock win for United  Grin.

Hah!  I'm thinking either a draw cos Mou, or pure dominance by Chelsea cos United's defense is suspect.  But we'll see...

If there was a club United could do a shock win against this year, it's City away (again).  Sad

Maybe Mourinho will park the bus, keep it at 0-0 for 70 minutes & then go for the sucker punch? He’s done it many times before.
As boring as that sounds, that might actually be a great plan for Mou and co. Mourinho his defence is shit, and for a player like Hazard who's been absolutely fantastic in the EPL so far, Man Utd defence just looks like it could a walk in the park for the belgian player. But if Mou decides to put up a massive bus in front of De Gea, I think Chelsea could actually struggle like they did against West Ham where Pelligrini went for a very defensive but calculated defensive plan, that game ended 0-0. And given how good sometimes Man Utd counter attacks are, I wouldn't be surprised if they snatch the win in the last few minutes with a header from Lukaku or Fellaini  Roll Eyes

Man Utd don’t often lose by big goal margins. I think they will lose to Chelsea but not by many goals. Maybe Mourinho will park the bus, keep it at 0-0 for 70 minutes & then go for the sucker punch? He’s done it many times before.

It’ll probably be a really boring game with the way Mourinho sets up against the big teams when he’s away from home.

I'm always worried about discounting Man Utd with my bets, they have ruined far too many of my multis in the past with last minute goals  Tongue

Cardiff vs Fulham is the other EPL game I picked for this week's Predictor competition and it's been interesting to see most people backing Fulham. As I mentioned in the thread, the Bluebirds recent form hasn't been great but they have had a few tough fixtures recently (Chelsea, Man City, Tottenham) and I think they could be pushing hard for points in this game before another nasty game away at Liverpool next week.
