I’ve got Chelsea to beat United, think I put 2-1 in our pool. I wouldn’t mind that game being a draw though so my boys LFC can gain points on both teams (assuming we beat Hiddersfield who haven’t won a game yet).
As a Manchester United fan,  I am very worried that this game came a bit too early for this team and with the whole confusion and division in the team, I am very certain that he Red Devils are going to lose this game and if they are not careful,  it's going to be by at least a three goal margin.

^  Lol.  How long was the EPL the BPL for?  Too long I guess if people were starting to subconciously refer to it as the 'BPL'.  I don't think I ever did as I was very nit picky when people did it.  Grin

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_football_sponsorship

I think it was referred to as the Barclay's Premier League from 2007–16, though they sponsored it for a few years before that, and before them it was Carling (that takes me back).

https://www.campaignlive.co.uk/article/barclays-maintain-premier-league-ties-despite-ending-title-sponsorship/1388023

Anyway, you got any funny hunches on this weekend's matches?

Yeah, shock win for United  Grin.

^  Yup...  Next would be something like calling it 'Barclay's Nation's League' or something with a sponsor.  I hated it when the EPL was called the 'Barclay's Premier League', and I'd see somebody type it as the 'BPL' online...  Lol.

The Premier League has done away with title sponsorships now as it was a bit tacky renaming the league every time they get a new deal and most leagues around the world don't do it. I always found it annoying how pundits and players was forced to refer to it as the Barclay's Premier League, but I remember one funny time when I was listening to a game on the radio and Stan Collymore said, and I quote, "I'm sick of these Barclay's Premier League corners" lol. Not as funny without hearing him say it in the moment but to this day I still have no idea what a "premier league corner" is.  I think he just added the "Barclays" bit out of habit as he was still saying it after they removed the sponsorship. I think he even had a 'swear jar' for every time he slipped up eventually haha.

Happy to see the proper football return this weekend, I hate international football. Pointless, boring shit that just interrupts the real stuff for me. We’re only 8 games into the PL & this was the 2nd international break. It’s ridiculous. Just a money spinner for UEFA, I mean WTF in the ‘Nations League’.

Well the excuse or reasoning that they've come out with is that the league is meant to replace international friendlies, because countries often don't take them seriously and there's nothing to really play for. Now there is with this league, but obviously it's also just another way for UEFA to milk some money out of the 'tournament'. England internationals whether it be friendlies or tournaments like the Euros or World Cups have always been on free-to-air 'terrestrial' TV for as long as I can remember so anyone with a TV could watch them, but now Sky Sports have bought the rights to the Nation's League and you have to be a Sky subscriber to watch them, which I think is pretty shit. As I've always said, money ruins everything, especially sports.

I am very sure everyone who watched the Liverpool vs Mancity match was very disappointed. because actually this is a highly anticipated match. moreover they (gamblers) who have guessed the score over 2. they must have lost a lot of money. because nobody thinks that the score will end 0-0

Even though I didn't bet on it but, I can feel the disappointment. No one would have expected that the match will end as draw.

I'll agree I didn't play on this high profile match, but I can feel the disappointment it was billed as one of the biggest match in the league but turned out boring. I can't understand how the match turned out goalless despite the best attacking players of the league were there. I do hope when they meet again there'll be loads of goals, and I feel their next encounter would be crucial in deciding the title winner.

Many persons won money out after this big game although they were lucky that Manchester City missed a penalty as these persons played it as a draw. It is a boring weekend this one without games of the big major leagues while we are forced to see International teams in action and although surprises happen less in International tournaments, even these teams are making a bit of surprises, mostly the African teams.

^  The United players need to step up their game imho.  The manager can only do so much.  It's the players who are on the pitch.  They are partly responsible.  The manager just happened to be an easy target.  Replacing him won't be doing them any good with those bunch of over paid sorry ass players.  The fans deserve better.

I agree with you there buddy. I think Mourinho has taken the flak for a lot of crap performances by the players. Some of their players are among the highest paid players in the PL. They should definitely be doing better.

I was hoping that Manchester to draw or lose this game in order for Mourinho to go away. Even with this win I think he has nothing more to give to Manchester United, after so many years being the director of Manchester United the best he achieved is an Europa League trophy. In the Premier League Manchester United is struggling a lot.

I'll agree I am a long term Manchester United fan but was wishing for a negative result as I feel Mourinho had to goo, but I can't admit Manchester United played like sir Alex ways attack and win, if you remember they were called come back kings. It's also pertinent to note Valencia has been continuously been dropped, Pogba started and his flick to Martial was brilliant, and the forgotten man Sanchez rescued Mourinho. Its ironic that goals from Mata, Martial and Sanchez saved Mourinho especially all three have been reduced to fringes, it'll be interesting if these three keep their places going forward.

Why do you want him to go so bad? What is it you think he's doing that is so wrong and who would you prefer he is replaced by? Is it just because they're not first place? They've drawn and lost only one game each out of their last five. Sometimes teams go through a bad patch but often a good manager will turn it around, but unfortunately a lot of them get sacked these days before they even get the chance too.

Low scoring game tonight from Liverpool vs Manchester City which was I think also the main event for this week of Premier League. I was a bit surprised at the result of 0-0 when Liverpool did score goals in every other game of Premier League they played and Manchester City did even better by scoring a lot of goals.

That game was quite boring. They just cancelled each other out. Liverpool were lucky to hang onto a point however, which was surprising to me as I thought Liverpool would be the better team here, especially with it being at Anfield.

Well a good result for both team. I mean, they can shared the points. That pinalty from Mahrez though, lmao what a waste. Btw top 7 premier league is really competitive right now, only 5 points difference. The bottom 5 also same.

Though I didn't place a bet for that game, I believed that two or more goals was going to be scored in the game and was surprised that not even one was scored which was courtesy of Pep letting Mahraez take the penalty kick instead of Gabriel Jesus.

i also think  that's what's makes the English premier league special because you cannot easily predict. Sorry to gamblers that lost in the over 2.5 category, it was a highly likely event and  I would have placed a bet in that same category if I did gamble because I expected both teams to really score a lot of goals too:

I was a bit surprised at the result of 0-0 when Liverpool did score goals in every other game of Premier League they played and Manchester City did even better by scoring a lot of goals.

Now the standings are lead by three teams, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea and these will be the teams to run for the trophy, with Arsenal just behind their tail.

Very boring game there was penalty for Manchester but Mehrez didn't score
it looks like players are tired they are playing every three day
Generally it was boring weekend exept Man United-Newcastle game
For me all that Mou case is a kind of theater  supported and advertised by media
