Well right now my guts tell me we're heading for a bubble topping out at about $4000! Then going back to $2000, and dipping into the $1000s at the beginning of next year. But it's just a feeling Smiley

but what would cause the bubble?

Without new things I can't see prices going beyond past performance

We are not even in the second month, I believe 1000$ is easily reachable again by the end of the year.

I never expected the price to fall this deep, but I still support my earlier predictions of having Bitcoin around $400-$500 level this year.

I voted for more than 1000$ to close 2015.

This one is a little too high,  I hope it is true

Very very difficult. I think we may very well reach and also stay at $600-$800 levels for the remainder of the year. If there's another bubble, we may see $3500(+), but not necessarily higher prices, afterwards a rebound to about $1500. That's my prediction, but it's just a gut feeling and most likely completely off Cheesy

Unbelievable that people still think it will rise again to 300-500, let alone the 1000+ range. It tells us how many people here are either underwater or desillusionized by everything that has happened so far. Looks like the shorters will be able to make off more money from the 70% suckers again. Why do people never learn; it really is beyond me.

indeed, too many people too bullish. too many people still holding on to their bitcoins.

unless bulls push it soon above 300$, a severe sell off in a wash-out style is probably needed

No way, you need to at least dump to $150 to trigger stop losses and at least dump to $100 to trigger another panic sale. With short swap at historical high already, I doubt bears can achieve any selloff from now on.

Besides, only retail investors were panic in the recent crash. All addresses holding more than 100K coins didn't sell at all recently. That is a vote of confidence from largest stakeholders.

EXACTLY....this IMO was the final phase of shaking those unsure investors off from Bitcoin for now at least...the people who truly understand the implications of the coin and the technology behind it are definatly here to stay.

Summary:

Optimism is high.

The question is if this is realistic optimism or is it unrealistic like we've seen here:

Price will go up but not to big.
Maybe real thing will be next year with halving all expect to go skyhigh.

This always involves a lot of buying and the buys slowly build up. So you could expect the increase and buys soon by end of this year.

Pull up a finex 1w chart and look at the volume on this crash. Now look at the current short and long interest. Largest account holders haven't budged in the top 500 addresses. Bitcoin days destroyed has blipped that's all. Pretty phenominal price manipulation by whale predators.

Only people left shorting are retail Smiley
