You can implement something like... if someone have more than 10 mute from users, get 8 hours chat muted, with more than 20, 12 hours muted, and with more than 30 permanent muted... and maybe ban for people who abuse this, or some rules like only mutes from accounts with lvl 10 or more count.

And you don't need more mods Cheesy

Like so many of the suggestions in this thread, you're forgetting that it's free to create a new account. People can easily switch IP addresses, so there's no way of banning people.

We're stuck between making it as easy as possible for new players to get started on the site (easy to make an account, free dust from the faucet) and making it hard for spammers/bots to abuse the system. I don't see a way of satisfying both of these requirements without human intervention (ie. intelligent mods).

People seems to forget that we already basically don't need mods on PD.

We have /ignore command.

So anytime u see somebody spamming just use /ignore username and u are done with him. Let everybody else know they can do that and that's it.

Here list of pd chat commands: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.8349172

The only caveat I've noticed with this is on people who are only occasionally irritating.  You mute them, then it gets confusing when other people who didn't mute them looks like they're talking to nobody.  Sure the insta-spammers are easy to mute and move on, but I've taken to not muting other regular chatters just to avoid the confusion it may cause.

WE? who are the we that you're referring to with? i can only see is you lol

We, as in people who would like to provide a faucet on a site but can't find a way of doing so without it being botted or abused in other ways.

I used to run a couple of dice sites. I would have liked to have been able to automatically give new users a few bits to play with, but couldn't see how to do it reasonably.
Seperate the play money from actual BTC, crediting users 10-100 play money and allow them to test the site. If they like the features, they will naturally deposit bitcoin. This however, don't attract as much people as the one who credit real BTC and allow them to withdraw as they can test out withdrawal feature without risking any BTC.
That would  be good idea as stunna made some quite big loses with faucet.

So it seems our little friend AKCoinMiner very well could have been the owner of Dice.Ninja, DarkDice, and JPCDice who was gambling investors money and had to close shop when he lost everything on PrimeDice. There is a story on it forming Here Thanks to the owner of MoneyPot.

Hmm... to me this does not seem likely at all after talking to Joe/AK. However, I will read the post you linked to before I say any more.
Well, no real hard evidence yet either way and AK actually comes across as innocent in the way he is responding in that thread imho. Unlike most scammers he doesn't dish out the usual obvious lies/deceptions but flat out denies it and confirms, or is the first to bring, some things to light that incriminate him more (like the ip addresses).

EDIT: Also want to say that it is probably real hard to prove your innocent, especially on the anonymous internet where you can have any identies you want.

He wasn't the first to come up with the IP thing, it was already established they both used the same IP on several sites before he made that post.

Could be . Stunna can maybe help by checking origin of AK deposits ? If they come from dice.ninja cold wallet ....

I wasn't on bitcointalk for around 24 hours and am now really confused at what is going on in general. I respect the privacy of AK, I'm not going to look into this or provide any information unless there is a legitimate reason to believe he was somehow responsible.

Gonna start digging through the conspiracy theories, will probably take at least an hour to figure out what's been going on.

1. either ak is incredibly stupid and reckless ( i don't believe this )

2. or by craft strategy those diceninja bitcoins moved to primedice.

 Cool

Yeah, but it's not that simple as something like that is so easily abused.
