What do you think of my solution? I developed a Ethereum Escrow Smart Contract/Dapp. Escrow transactions can now be confirmed once it's mined. Here's how it works.


How it works

The buyer creates an escrow transaction, specifying the seller address, escrow address and amount of Ether. The smart contract locks the buyer's funds. When buyer receives the item, he can release the locked funds in the Dapp.

If a dispute happens, the escrow agent can step in to refund the buyer, or release funds to seller. At any point in time, the escrow agent NEVER has access to the funds, which eliminates one big security risk of transferring the entire transaction amount to the escrow.


In exchange for his service, escrow agent can charge a percentage fee set in the Dapp.

Main Benefit
1) It greatly reduces the Escrow agent's workload, because if the transaction proceeds smoothly, Buyer will release funds himself. There is no intervention required by the Escrow agent, saving a lot of time. Assuming 90% of transactions have no dispute, that's 90% of time saved.


2) Once the escrow transaction is mined, the Seller will see the incoming escrow transaction in his dashboard, and knows the Buyer has locked up his funds in the escrow transaction. There's no longer a need to wait for the Escrow agent's reply, making it convenient for Buyer & Seller.


3) Safe. Escrow agents can't steal the funds. The smart contract locks Buyer's funds and only releases it when Buyer confirms he received his product, Seller choose to refund the Buyer, or Escrow agent steps in to refund/release funds. Escrow agent never has access to the funds, and can never steal it.


To use this Dapp,  connection to an Ethereum node is required. I suggest Metamask chrome extension (https://metamask.io/) as it only takes 3 mins to setup. Parity will work as well.

Enter seller address, escrow address and amount to send. If the address is entered correctly, the seller/escrow's name will appear.



If you own the address, you can update your profile info. It is stored on the blockchain.



Buyers, when you receive your product. Please head into the dashboard, click the transaction, and click "Release Funds"



When a transaction is complete, Seller can withdraw his funds from the smart contract. Escrow agent can also withdraw his fees. If transaction is refunded, Buyer can withdraw the refund.

What do you guys think, is it an improved solution for escrow services? Will you consider using it? If not, why?

I am very much fond of this project, I have a dream regarding this issue. "Global exchange ( Accepting all fiats, accepting all altcoins)" would be the best project among of these mentioned here. but it requires a lot of money as well as a group of expert people. Hopefully, within a year we will take a project as like as this. if we are able to take an initiative to be accepted Bitcoin in a new sector then it would be another good platform for Bitcoin. 

as you mentioned regarding different type of potential project, I prefer following two projects to start with my team.
"Accept cash for ICOs.
Uber of everything but accepting/paying in Alt coins not just BTC (Everything)"
Basically when you are going to start a project when you have a related expert team. so that I am going to establish a team within 1 year.

I don't have any good ideas. But I like trying to come up with ideas so I'll throw some out there.

#1  Fresh vegetables/fruits, meat & perishable food items are the most difficult things to directly buy with bitcoin. A service which filled that vacuum might be profitable.

#2  A kickstarter/gofundme/crowdsource website utilizing crypto might work.

#3  There aren't ways to earn interest on sums of crypto. If someone could come up with a reliable & legitimate way to give people 5% to 10% earnings interest per year on crypto holdings, the way IRA accounts do, that would be awesome.

#4  Crypto could benefit by having trustworthy escrow services to overcome confirmation waiting time.

#5  A bitcoin point of sale app to allow people to have yard sales or sell items for crypto at flea markets could be a good idea if there isn't already one out there.

the ideas are good but some can work somewhere and the same idea can not work in another country but about exchange bitcoin in Africa I don't think is a good idea because peoples whom deal with bitcoin are very few but to provide idea is good and some one can start from you post

for me  Best project is games make android & ISO game so users can use satoshi  to play

I live in Africa and $100 is nothing, you do not do anything with 100 $, buy a house in my country costs thousands of dollars the minimum is 100.000 $ for a basic house, a cell phone costs  $450 depending on the brand, for example an iphone 6 costs around $500 to $600 and you're saying that someone can live with $100

People in my country do business allowing them to have a cell phone, a computer, a tablet and the internet, few people in my country do not have a phone

Bitcoin is the thing that is not possible to get you high profit till the price of the bitcoin is known to you and you will get the high knowledge about it. A lot of people use to see the loss but not the loss actually but they only don’t get the profit because they start the business with bitcoin only without any experience and they don’t even wait till the price of the bitcoin get high. So if you are having the knowledge and the patience then you will earn the good profit from the bitcoin.

Has anyone here tried to write articles for Huffington post? What's their payment rate? Do you need to have some background in article writing or the quality is more important?

OP has got so many ideas. I would like to add one more idea to that. Its nothing but starting a cryptocurrency to fiat exchange in India. At the present scenario, this project has become very important because the existing exchanges in India are not able to handle  such a large cryptocurrency user base. Day by day new accounts are opened and the staffs are not able to provide proper support for the users. Just imagine it takes nearly 4 to 5 days to deposit  money into the account.

The fully P2P transparent exchange is also needed. There are some projects, but all they need better UI / UX / marketing / dayly volume

About number 5 I don't think that it's a good idea unless creating something different. We all know that there is some ads service that paid in bitcoin but the rate is too low comparing to Google Adsense, some of them even lowering their rate it may be due to lack of advertiser since mostly their ads are only about bitcoin. So I think maybe they have to expand their business like accepting unrelated bitcoin advertiser. Number 6 it's a big yes this industry is full of with the scammers and there must be a site that can stop this, so people can check the review before investing on that site.

I am not saying it to you that you have done a great job by putting all these trash points  like most of my mates with a gregarious nature did it.
Exchanges in Africa already exist accepting local fiat.
Cash has already been tried being accepted for ICO in the past.
A campaign of Cartaxi is already exist here solving this issues.
Craigslist of everything is not possible you know that very well.
In short you have come with a stupid dump topic giving it the name of new ideas that already exist. My advise to you is to study this forum keenly and you will get to know about everything you have asked for.

All the trending ICOs will never you profit bro. After you bought the tokens from them. They will do nothing to you. This is how ICO scams are happening now so you be careful and research about ICO and their services details twice.
I suggest to invest on GPU mining with the multiple rigs to mine Ethereum because it will be able to profit more 3k USD per month.

Many people find it hard but innovative businessman make some ways to make their dream business came true that's and we could see some of them running an ICO to gain some funds to used for there project and ICO's are so trendy todays and might OP will catch this Ideas up and he can gain what he want if he is honest and have a good vision to this project.

Very nice thinking , unfortunately it is hard to make or implement this ideas but yes we really need this one especially those who is getting into alt coins, they must be publitize like btc, but like I said it is so hard to me things in cryto world be use by everyone in here and out side this area. This list is good and everyone can choose few from his interest.

Those are some quality good projects you have mentioned. I have seen some couple of ICOs that have accepted cash anyway with the help of paypal while some even go as far as using bank payment method.

For the number 3 as well, I think there is a project I saw recently on service thread called Car Taxi.

With so many projects such as these springing up anyway, it will start giving in more way for people to start making use of cryptocurrencies, thereby increasing the demand and population of the cryptocommunity.

I like and agree with your idea no 3, but for its alt payment it is better to use alt which have its own platform and have wallet for android or ios.

Good ideas. And yes it's not that easy. Even big platforms are having a hard time making that kind of ideas a reality. Some factors are
Government conflicts
People don't have proper awareness on what is the blockchain and cryptocurrencies
People are closes minded enough to take risks on the new technology
We have our own ideas and opinions that can't be integrated properly into the big picture.
We need some backups in big companies too, imagine if the Amazon will accept btc and Microsoft too.
The regulations are quite blurry but govenments like for Japan is finding ways to implement it properly and as a pioneers of blockchain we have a very large room to grow.
