I never ague with you but lemme ask you dude, when you were newbie then newbies are permitted to post link but now nothing like that, if newbies are now limited by forum mod what then your evidence that newbies can post picture? I don't talk by guess I post as a result of experience

Again, if you've read past results, these restrictions are to prevent unnecessary spam. But then again, you shouldn't have any problems communicating with people. You're probably just might have problems when you're intentions are to promote something. (which is not necessarily something bad, but then again you can buy Copper Member if you want to promote something)

I was once a newbie and posting images doesn't in any way lead to a ban. You just have to buy the copper membership if you can't wait to rank up. Besides, ranking up is fairly easy so your opinion that the barrier is too much is irrelevant.

I am then suggesting here if the mod can help crest an academic platform where newbies can be train or educated for few period of month or weeks and after such there should an examination section to test the skill ability of any newbies and the successful newbies should then be given an access to participate in the forum discussion without any restrictions.

Have you considered these?
1. How many member have teaching skill?
2. How many member willing become teacher?
3. How about "Check and balance" to ensure the quality/transparency of the platform?

The truth is some newbies raise contribute awesomely than even some senior member in terms of their post.

I agree, but usually their post/thread will get lots of merit and their rank will be upgraded quickly.

When I first registered here, posting photos was the furthest thing from my mind, and I'd be suspicious of any newbie that absolutely needs to post pics right away.  Most likely he's trying to promote something and for whatever reason is targeting the bitcointalk community.
Exactly this.

It's like we don't have enough social platforms that are swarmed with videos, images and gifs, and now we need the same thing here on bitcointalk. I can only imagine the amount of mess if every single brand new account is able to share the image (considering the fact that vast majority of new account are made for abusing bounty campaigns, or some other similarly dodgy stuff) and as other before me said, it would be an oversized one, since newbies (and often even more experienced members) don't pay attention to that.

We're not in School /  University, I hate exams/quizzes and other boring stuffs. I'm also a Legendary and still my knowledge in Crypto is still on Average Level, still many things to learn especially on DEFI.
We are on a FORUM, meaning;

Code:

noun

1.
a place, meeting, or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged:

https://search.yahoo.com/search?fr=mcafee&type=E211US1316G0&p=forum+meaning

such suggestion is useless when it comes to restrictions as most of the newbies nowadays just came here for bounties and only a few of them here only came for serious stuffs such as mining trading and auctions -  and they even don't give a single shit on ranks. Aside from that as a newbie you just have to wait for another couple of minutes to reply, afaik it doesn't any limit on how many posts you can make in a day so you definitely can join the discussion, just make use of  quote

And how exactly is posting images crucial to your form activity that you can't wait to become Jr Member, which if you are legit member shouldn't take more than a month or two.
I'll be damned if I know the answer to that one either.  When I first registered here, posting photos was the furthest thing from my mind, and I'd be suspicious of any newbie that absolutely needs to post pics right away.  Most likely he's trying to promote something and for whatever reason is targeting the bitcointalk community.

I came across a topic that doesn't allow newbies to post link here in the forum may for a reason that newbies are not good enough or fully familiar with all the content of the forum or either for an abuse, I really can't figure out the reason for such restrictions since it's not explain in the forum.
Yeah, there's nothing written in the forum rules or anywhere else (officially) about how a lot of the forum's problems stem from newbie actions, whether it's shitposting, abusing bounties, spamming, or whatever.  But that's exactly why the merit system was created, because Theymos realized that fact.  It's not that new members aren't welcome here, because they are--but a lot of people sign up on the forum just to do shady things.  That's probably in no small part due to the fact that scams aren't moderated and the rules here are pretty lax.

I am then suggesting here if the mod can help crest an academic platform where newbies can be train or educated for few period of month or weeks and after such there should an examination section to test the skill ability of any newbies and the successful newbies should then be given an access to participate in the forum discussion without any restrictions.
That's not going to happen.  Take my word for it.

Theymos said multiple times that he isn't going to make this forum hardly accessible for newbies. After all, it's not financially beneficial for the forum too and I don't know why it's hard to understand and why people always blame newbies.
I hope one day people won't ask for opening live exam centers across the world in order to register on bitcointalk Cheesy

Btw you inspired me something great: It would be really appreciated if bitcointalk invest some people in education around bitcoin and blockchain technologies and makes free course that will be available here and on Coursera. It would really be a great step for crypto society.

I am not against your submission for a Bitcointalk academy. Themos can implement it if it is necessary. But, in every disadvantage, there is an advantage. As a newbie you can see the restrictions in the forum as a motivation to you to make quality posts in order to rank up very fast and enjoy all privileges. I don't even post pictures, I don't think it should be a major setback to you.

If you are unable to express your opinion without posting pictures (oversized most of the time), a discussion board like Bitcointalk might not be the best place for you. There are many members who would gladly quote your picture in their own reply to make it visible on the forum if it really improves the discussion.

A few examples where pictures from OP were quoted:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.54171023
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.56319878
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.46699360

Those posts are enough to prove that even without the ability to post pictures, you will find someone willing to help you out and quote your post to make them visible if they bring a certain quality.

Before posting this topic I have made some research and I find out that newbies are not allowed to post pictures. I see the barrier to be too much.

It's scary to imagine what will happen to the forum if you can finally post pictures here. Based on your early posts that you prefer pictures to words, the forum will be full of pictures.

I really can't figure out the reason for such restrictions since it's not explain in the forum. I am then suggesting here if the mod can help crest an academic platform where newbies can be train or educated for few period of month or weeks and after such there should an examination section to test the skill ability of any newbies and the successful newbies should then be given an access to participate in the forum discussion without any restrictions.

Listen to some friendly advice: the forum does not consist of one META section, you will probably be more comfortable writing in the newbie topic.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0

I heard you mentioned buying a rank; is not all newbies are financially capable to buy rank and I think is better to earn a rank by a diligent work of good post than buying. I demand mod to play a positive role on this topic.
Again, you are not friends with your thoughts, which visit you from topic to topic. Here you propose to charge a registration fee, and you yourself deny that not everyone can afford it.

1. Registration fee: the forum should be rearranged in the other at which every nee member can pay some dues as gate fee that can grant them registration access to the forum.

But I will say for sure that you will go broke by registering your dozens of accounts. Grin

Sure there are newbies that know more than higher ranks. So what's your point? Again, they can post freely to their heart's content as long as they don't spam. You're speaking as if the image restriction is actually something that's stopping them from posting. You don't need to buy copper member either!

I reckon the point of this thread is just to score some Merits. There's another thread he posted which suggested some forum makeovers, which include a paywall to access it.

Newbies can post pictures if they buy a copper membership - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote

You will also not be banned if you post a link solely because you are a newbie posting a link. You may be banned if you post a spammy link, or a link that leads to malware, or a link that is otherwise harmful or disruptive. The forum will automatically prevent newbies from posting links that are known to be abused by spammers.

I must emphasize on this topic. The plain truth is preference are be given to some users than newbies and I want this Bridges to be lifted. Do you know some newbies are better than some senior members here? care to share the topic? as far as I know, newbies are allowed to post links. although I am not sure if there are exceptions in some boards.

why? the information they needed to know those things are here in the forum and if they are having a hard time finding it all, they need to do is ask. members are willing to help or provide answers to interested newcomers/newbies. creating an "academic platform" exclusive for newbies to learn is just a waste of time. but then again, I guess you can consider Beginners & Help as an "academic platform" for newbies who are just starting.

The truth is some newbies raise contribute awesomely than even some senior member in terms of their post.
yeah, and those newbies tend to get merits and rank up.

Those preferences exist for good reason. They are not arbitrary but the result of people being here a long time and learning to recognize the telltale signs of a shitposter vs. someone with free will.

Do you know some newbies are better than some senior members here?

Indubitably, but that's not revealing much either way.

I just heard someone saying rank should be purchased now how sure are we someone that bought rank and didn't know the difficulties in attaining a rank can not post link that is against the forum rules.

That will never happen. At least not officially. Just write good, interesting posts and you will eventually get a merit. You'll find its a lot easier than attempting to rewire the system. If you can at least pretend to be here for any other reason than making money, that will go a long way in your journey to rank up as well.

I need your comply mod and I look forward to a better feedback
Why all the academy trainee hassle yet the system seems pretty straight forward?

If a newbie is actively and positively contributing to the forum, they need about a month only to get enough activity points and at least 1 merit to rank up to  Jr Member rank which has an additional privilege of posting images around the forum. This is not impossible to achieve.

I just heard someone saying rank should be purchased now how sure are we someone that bought rank and didn't know the difficulties in attaining a rank can not post link that is against the forum rules.
Would some keep purchasing copper membership for bot accounts that are going to get banned within one day of registration for abusing the forum?
How stupid would they be?

The barrier is there for a reason.

I am sure if there is a preordaining of newbies there will be an easy job also for the mod to do. This idea of getting mod in most topic or post by newbies is not a welcoming idea. How is "the barrier too much"? Can't use [img] tags? Simply just link the photo!

If you create a topic/reply that's compelling/constructive enough, people are going to read your reply. Heck, in most cases posting a picture is unnecessary. And in some cases(depends), posting a link of a picture is better because it makes the post a lot less cluttered.

How does one person mistakenly post a malicious link?
