I've read people asking and posting how to protect their wallet but apart from educating yourself on how to protect your wallet, private keys and passwords, It's also very important that you protect yourself from exposing your portfolio you don't go around telling friends and random people, coins that you are keeping.
And also It's important to have other businesses or jobs and not rely on all your needs to Cryptocurrency, people will notice this and they will think you are making a fortune from Cryptocurrency and they might target you.

So are you protecting yourself and how do you protect yourself and your family?

I usually keep my self away from exposing my thing here in crypto. I hang out a lot with my friends asking where did I get my money from because we are all a students besides I do not have any outside jobs they knew, and I am not from a wealthy family that is why they are confused. As soon as they ask I usually answer that it came from my savings last few days or whatsoever. The only people who knew my thing here in crypto was my family itself other than that, there is no one else.

It is very essential that we protect ourself from any possible risks that we may encounter on the way as we invest so that we can invest successfully in crypto. There are a lot of ways to protect our investment and also our family here in crypto. We should not be too shallow upon sharing our information here in crypto to anyone because it may harm us in a large scale. Make sure always that the person you are showing you portfolio with is a trustworthy one so that you won't have regret at the end.

Yes depends on how much they wanted to trade everyday but if they are depositing money from banks then they can be tracked and governments can get the details from ay exchange if there is a need.So buying personally from someone is highly secured but cannot be trusted because source of money can become a question if the limit of purchase is high and alarming.
why be afraid to be known by the government? if the transaction is on a trusted exchange I don't think it will be a problem. and until now I think our transaction data has also been recorded by the exchange. everyone can track us, and we don't have to hide from the government.

yes i agree with you we must protect ourselves and our families from bad people. I have never posted my portfolio or income from cyrptocurrency on social media. and I also always keep my password and digital wallet key in a safe place and only my partner knows. and I also still have a professional job I do not rely on cryptocurrency as my main income.
We really should not share it in public, it should stay private to ourselves.
Posting and sharing anything regarding our cryptocurrency assets is not prohibited, but we should consider our own safety when it comes to our own assets.
We all know that an individual can become blind when it comes to money, they can do anything for money.
If it's unavoidable to share information with other people, just make sure that certain person is trusted and should be someone close to you.
I agree. Fewer people know that you work with cryptocurrencies, the better for you
And even if someone found out, always use an alibi that you were interested in before, but then burned out.
It is dangerous to create appearance that you have a lot of money.
In every aspect of life, when it comes to money we must prioritize our privacy. Whether your assets was from cryptocurrency or on your own salary. Cryptocurrency assets are not created to let anyone know about it, it is a valuable asset which we also consider as an investment. Cryptocurrency is something that stays hidden. The fewer people who knows it, the better.

Telling random friends about you own coins is gonna be dangerous since people around the world already know how valuable BTC is. The moment they know, they can already take your phone and ask to withdraw your coins at gun point. Worse kidnapp your kids to be ransomed by you coins.

But most importantly, you also need to protect yourself from family as well. You don't know who among your close family relatives are wolves wearing sheep's clothing.

Very true. And this is even more paramount on the internet. I have seen some threads here where people are asked about how their portfolio looks like, how many % of their portfolio is BTC and so on. And some actually respond. It is not advisable that anyone reveal such. Protection of your assets begins with you, and not where you keep them.

Its simple, those who make good money from crypto will never go around saying it out loud or even sharing the experience on the internet, i believe that those who haven't earn anything from crypto but got lucky once are the ones doing the talking

This is food for thought for all, most especially for those who are fully dependent on crypto, without any other source of livelihood.
There have been several incidences of people being attacked in past. In fact, some lost their lives in the process.

This is an important discussion in my opinion, not everyone is aware that the security of the assets we have is important.
Most people underestimate the issue of security in the wallet where we store the cryptocurrency we have. There are many
ways that we can protect the assets we have, one of which makes more than one wallet address. This is useful so that we
are not targeted by hackers, because one address is easy to trace. Following protect yourself, meaning You have protected
your assets. By way of a low profile, do not tell others that we have assets in cryptocurrency. Because human nature has
jealousy, it's usually the path to crime of theft.

This kind of protection is not really protective unless you bought every coins from individual exchange not from any exchange because governments know how much you own even if you didn't let anyone know about this.

Some exchange didn't provide KYC so there's no way government can track them as well hardware wallets are keep anonymous. The only way they can track us if we transfer it in ou accounts that provide KYC. While its fine for government to know it , but better not to put all in a government registerd comapany all at the same time, maybe some span of years before accessing or cashing it out in our country if its too much money to avoid confusion from banks or area will you try to cash out your earnings in crypto, But if bitcoin or crypto is already popular in your country then it's ok to answer lot of question since we know were not doing illegal.

It is very true that in order to protect your funds, you need not only to securely store your private keys and seed phrases, but also not to disclose to outsiders what cryptocurrencies you bought and in what quantity. There may be a lot of envious people around you who can do you some meanness. It is better not to share information with outsiders that you have some savings and you are investing.

Stealing your funds is impossible without privatekeys so letting them know makes you feel pride but it depends on people, some wanted to hide how much they are having.

We are in cryptocurrency where privacy is more than a word or a concept but a way of life. Telling or bragging others about our cute cryptocurrency adventures and stories can indeed make us as possible target and we don't know when and where we can be able to meet someone who is adept in hacking or someone who knows and you can be referred as a possible victim. The world is full of people who are crazy enough to do unthinkable things. No one should think that he is so careful, as letting our guard an iota can led us to possible disasters. While there are online friends who are aware that I am into cryptocurrency, I made it a policy never to tell anyone how much coin I own and where is my online wallet located.

now a lot of airdrop emails provide links for you to visit, but it is very dangerous and you should never visit it,
your steps are good by storing your private key will be safe, but that step must also be followed carefully by visiting the wallet or exchange site,

Felt guilty about this. I do tell it about my friend but they are as well knowledgeable about cryptocurrency and on the other side making fortune out of it trading stuff though. We're just educaing one side or the other apart from this I do tell my family but they seemed uninterested knowing more than I could tell. I feel safe though but I am just can't hold my self back when something going in my mind specially with people whom I know doing stuff about crypto.

It is true as you said, in storing our assets to be safe from those around us we should not be too open with the results we get from the world of cryptocurrency, especially our assets are quite large so it must be a target of people who are tempted by the results we get, but for hackers it is difficult to overcome them because they have special expertise in hacking our wallets.
