We must protect ourselves from it. Do not show off to the public about our income from trading and project promotion.
Maybe a small part if we show off would consider it as motivation because Crypto earns a lot of money. But the jealous person will always bother us and we must remain vigilant and protect ourselves.

Silent earning is good but really those who become a target because of their coins aren't much, most common crypto problems comes from greed, wanting to double your bitcoin by all means possible will make you lose them, trading with no knowledge of trading, looking for money doubling schemes like bitcoin doublers etc, hacks are not that big this days like scams

I've read people asking and posting how to protect their wallet but apart from educating yourself on how to protect your wallet, private keys and passwords, It's also very important that you protect yourself from exposing your portfolio you don't go around telling friends and random people, coins that you are keeping.
And also It's important to have other businesses or jobs and not rely on all your needs to Cryptocurrency, people will notice this and they will think you are making a fortune from Cryptocurrency and they might target you.

So are you protecting yourself and how do you protect yourself and your family?

It's good to make sure that aside from dealing with protecting your assets from crypto industry, you also protecting your personal information to everyone
around you. We don't know what circling inside their minds when they are seeing you having luxurious life because of your affiliations with crypto.

Best to have private things being kept and do good diversions like having day job or business as what you've mentioned OP. It will  lessen the chance
of being targeted by criminals, keep yourself safe  especially with your personal life around.

as I've seen most of the people usually keep shut about their portfolio most of them that exposes their portfolio are using anonym persona in the internet or is an influencer that's trying to build a trading community within their own circles. I do agree with your thinking that we could keep shut on our portfolio so that person we can distance ourselves from people with ill intention, it's what I'm always doing ever since I was first introduced into cryptocurrency and the portfolio is only kept by myself. It's not like we could flex to other people about our portfolio anyway because they will have no idea.

I have so many tokens in my wallet and i earned them free, from airdrops and bounties but they are worthless, in combined they are not up to 200$ but still i don't keep them in a single wallet address, i split them up for safety but this kind of money won't bring any danger, even if i managed to become a target it won't worth it

Definitely. I hate it when people talk about their portfolios on public forums, because it exposes them to a much greater chance of getting hacked and scammers being able to specifically target them.

Besides, why give up your privacy when you have the option to keep it intact? I don't understand.

Share this information anonymously if you must. If some unscrupulous dude sees that you've got a hefty portfolio, and sees that you are of a low rank, you could easily be the target of a well orchestrated scam attempt.

When it comes to online security, make sure all the services you are using are not abusing your privacy information. No Facebook and Google's that often suppress information and will use your information to sell to advertisers for more targeted ads.

Get a VPN (I recommend Private Internet Access), use DuckDuckGo. Use a safer browser that doesn't track your information. Use an offline password storage device to keep your information safer. It's fairly easy to still be connected but safe online and these are some steps you can take.

As for your assets, just follow the basic rules of investment and always plan for the worst, and keep cutting down your payments to only the essentials and make sure to always have a healthy amount of savings and investments to protect yourself for the future.

Those who work from home can't escape the fact that people will gossip about them even families and friends, many might even call them fraudsters, laziness etc but this is better than letting them know you are into crypto, i'm safe because where i am from people don't even understand what crypto is

It is true, aside from protecting your wallet, you should also learn how to protect your own welfare. Beware of who you are sharing your portfolio or earnings, sometimes this puts you in risk, not just you but also your family. A few years ago during the bull market, I had been earning decent money in cryptocurrency and had quit my job to focus on it, but when the bear market started, all the savings I had was used for my daily expenses since I was jobless and earning in crypto was difficult that time. The lesson I learned is that, even if crypto is profitable, you should secure your earning by having a full-time job. This way you can ensure that you will not have a hard time whenever the market is not profitable.

Let them wonder in what we're earning and doing, if they ask just tell them some details like how it works, how you can earn, the pros and cons but not to the point you show them portfolio, wallet holdings and etc that can give them reason to envy or do bad intentions to you, your family or hack your account. Its like think before you speak. Keeping private as they need to be as private personal lives should be not in social media, in Internet or someone we barely know.

People has a big ego they do not have anything then suddenly because of Cryptocurrency they are making huge money with less effort, and they want to show up to their friends online and offline, this is part of our personality and character that's hard to tame, until they find themselves in a difficult situation, people will learn in a hard way, that you don't go around showing off how much money are you making.
Most of the people are just like that, they wanted to share every information with other people on how much they are holding and how much they are earning which is not quite right. Earnings are part of privacy which we should keep to ourselves, it is not some sort of information to be spread out and tell your friends about it.

You are right and this is exactly what i have been telling my friends and i think that investment privacy is a very important thing especially in todays world where markets and economies are not doing well, we have heard many events of kidnapping of crypto investors for ransom so we need to be careful and not expose our assets publically.

Identity is the most sought-after treasure that hackers and nefarious people chase, and oftentimes the big corporations and names are the ones responsible for leaking such, that's why we should always be wary on where we send our personal information and whatnot. Also, your point about telling people personally that you own cryptocurrencies is a plus knowing that extorting physically is far more effective, easier and faster than doing it online, and the numbers don't lie.

Protecting your wallet is a must, so does protecting yourself.

Its always a wise idea no to stick with one wallet, have up to three or four wallets to avoid losing all funds, and you don't have to go around telling people you have many coins or tokens, this can turn you into a target for criminals or bad people

of course protect our digital asset is important, but we can use feature from wallet/service we use to protect them is enough

As what the saying goes, people can't ruin what they don't know. This is just so fit with this topic, privacy is of all things we need to consider and prioritize just like how blockchain is securing us and our transactions. We need to be cautious with who we trust be it inside the crypto space, like avoiding scams and malwares that could steal your data or outside the space where you interact with other people, be picky with whom you'll share what you're up to for you might be doing the right thing but is trusting and telling it all to the wrong person.

To be honest I think you should only let your friends or whom you really trust to know about how you earn in crypto,
The more people who knows it the more it would be complicated just like one of my friends who are only earning through crypto but the people around them doesn't know a thing about crypto so they are suspecting that he is doing some illegal things online in order to sustain his living expenses.

So what can we say to these people who are posting their earnings from Cryptocurrency on Facebook, with all their locations and relatives exposed on social media, it's like inviting bad people from stalking them, I have a lot of friends on Facebook that post every cent they earned from trading and bounty campaign and they also post their family activity on social media, these people do not know the risk associated with this.
