A token is similar to a coin (altcoin) it is a reward given by an ICO after a bounty campaign.
If you trade your token in the trading site you have a chance of earning money in your own currency out of it or you can invest it into another coin.
You missed the chance of having it because you are lack of knowledge about it. Next time I suggest you ask someone who is experienced in cryptocurrency to help you.

Token is an alternative cryptocurrency used to promote their project, and you will get the tokens as payment for having worked for them, and you can sell tokens to buy other crypto.

token is a representation of their project.. it is just like every other coin in the market. you should find the platform where the token is registered and you can convert it to any other coin in that platform. you can convert it to bitcoin and eth if you like.. then convert later to fiat.

Every ICO there's have their own token. After the ICO they will total and distribute it to all the participants from that campaign where they are joined. Token is the payment for the salary for those participants. Will be trade it from the exchanger and turn it to bitcoin to cash.

One purpose why the company is creating their OWN TOKEN is for the funds. They will gather funds in order for the project to run. The funds will be like a fuel to their project because in order to create a project, you need money. This is I think one reason why some companies are conducting an ICO and they are creating their own token.

If it am not mistaken. The purpose of token is that every campaign use it as their payment for the salary of their participants and they use tokens because bounty has different campaigns and because of that every campaigns use their own token name.

There are many types of tokens, it also has many uses or methods to use. Ico's are many different products sometimes in foods , ecommerce or etc and it can you use in the blockchain . Just try to look the whitepaper of the ico to determine what is purpose of the token that you have because many of ico token are scam.

For me, I think it is for the creator to become rich while the investors gets scammed. I don't say that all of the tokens are that, but majority do.

You just have to write a smart contract on the ether. Issue scrip, do ICO.
