Mitchell has my full suppport. I too would like to see these efforts somehow included with the lovebitcoins.org site.

+1 Not sure what I can contribute, but I'll do what I can.

Hi Mitchell,

Thanks for stepping up. I would see your efforts working in harmony with the LoveBitcoins.org site, but that's up to you.

I can provide development support if you need it. I specialise in web applications, usually in Java. Feel free to PM me.

Kind regards,

Gary

Meh, if it's unofficial just do it.

Id only be interested if there was a significant amount of people willing to support and donate some hours to develop some systems/software/sites etc.

Some level of coordination, cooperation and direction will be required.

If you have good idea's, Ill gladly contribute to the realization of them on a per case basis. If your idea's suck imo, your on your own. So I dont see the point of pledging anything at this point.  Wanting 100 people to 'vote' for you seems little more than ego tripping, no offense.

Well it just makes the job a lot easier,  im not going to volunteer to do the marketing without support.
A case by case situation is probably not a bad idea though, will take it on board

I'll be happy to test your intentions. Read my PM ^^

There are already serious groups that you weren't aware existed. The way I see it, if you neglect to support them, it's ego tripping.

We may need to sell loaded plastic cards to the villagers that dont have smart phones.

wait.. what??  Are those bitbills.. or has the bitcoin marketing department invented some new bitcoin technology already?
(I shouldn't be surprised I guess.. that's what marketing does... right..??)

Im not sure what its called but I know its out there.
Thanks for the awesome contribution.

Im heading over to the philippines in a couple of weeks, it would be cool to sponsor a small village to use bitcoin.
average wage is maybe a dollar an hour it wouldnt cost much to provide incentive.

I imagine we would offer a subsidy to small shop to accept cards and then offer some kind of discount to people using it.  We may need to sell loaded plastic cards to the villagers that dont have smart phones.

Who would like to support this idea?

Ill be there for 2 months so there is plenty of time to organise.

I've already sent a PM to Matthew to get his ass on board. I tricked him by making it sound like his services are dearly needed here. Let's hope he falls for the trap.  Smiley

I'm glad to see this list growing. Others?

In response to this thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-needs-a-marketeer-55901

Im putting my hand up to be the unofficial bitcoin marketing guy.

Ive outlined my argument here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.666823

I see a need for someone to execute marketing concepts, I dont have a bitcoin business so there is no conflict of interest.

For me to volunteer my time and put my neck on the chopping block, I need 100 people to pledge support and contribute to development.
All contributions will be referenced on whatever vehicle we use to market with.

Current pledge count :
1 (Phinnaeus Gage)

I was behind worldly after only reading the first sentence of the post where he initially offered up his services here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.666855

I'm behind him 100%. Others?

I'm sure once worldly sees the outpouring of  support, he'll take this to the next level. Perhaps even, at the very least, maintaining a thread outlining what's happening on the marketing front, along with garnering up support from his supporters when needed.

Again, I urge you (the reader) to consider getting behind worldly, offering up whatever you think would be helpful for this endeavor to come to fruition. If you feel you have something of value to make this a go, simply pledge your support. The rest will take care of itself.
