I've never liked Bter and I just can't trust Polo.  I don't know why but there is something about them I'm just jot comfortable with.  We need to try and get Qora on cryptsy.  They have a coin vote page and Qora has never had a lot of love.  Google "Cryptsy Vote" And you should be able to find the page.
why not Bter?
I think it is OK and popular in China,
I think cryptsy is not safe.

After the Bitbay drama i don't trust them

I've tried, but the qora client crashes regularly on my 64 bit win8 Sad
It's an awt exception, updated java to the latest version and removed the nvidia graphic driver (only windows stock driver now), but nothing changed.

Works fine for me with same config. Did you ever try with any of the compatibility modes? Win7, Vista, XP?

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try that when I'm back from vacation.

Bitcoin has a huge network effect that we can't compare to us. Nxt has a bigger network effect and more features.

Thanks for the insight. I too want Qora to succeed. How can this happen? For one, this means a successful network is a must. One of the main reasons Qora is unstable is because of the lack of a strong network. Forging is not profitable so people will only support the network if they are interested in making Qora succeed, not for profit. NHZ offers node rewards and they have over 4K nodes. I suggest we think about how to increase the number of nodes. Crypto is a network and without a good one, it will be difficult for Qora to succeed long term.  Features will come, esp with AT, but the network node numbers must increase at first.

I believe Qora once had a node reward program where you would get about 1,000 QORA for running a node. Not sure if it's still running anymore though.
anyone are running a node.
it is important for us.

Guys you should withdraw your coins from Bter to Poloniex

Considering it took 21 days to get my Qora off there last time, I'm good.  Wink

Request : Qora (dev), could you reach out to Poloniex exchange about their Qora wallet issues please?

This has been going on since 12/3 for me personally and they (Poloniex) finally decided to pass the buck and say it was the Qora dev that is holding them up from giving us our Qora withdrawals.

During this time, they did however have time to update their website ...  which shows Poloniex's priorities (Hint : It's not us).

Update 12/26 : Not sure if you did anything or not (thanks if you did!), but they finally fixed their wallet and I received my coins today.

Don't worry the forging amount will increase Wink

Did you join the slack channel?

...I wasn't just referring to Generating Balance this time...

Slack is not seeing my account for some reason when I try to do a password change...  I want to get that sorted out before I receive an invitation from twistelaar.

ok thanks for the update

Spent a little bit of my time on Qora sources during last weekend and even made Scala version of QORA's BlockGenerator class: https://gist.github.com/kushti/605dfe4f17d0dd75cedf (220 lines of code instead of original 400), also submitted the bug on the way: https://github.com/Qora/Qora/issues/10 . Haven't investigated forging algo in details, but that's definitely not TF. Read this epic topic about TF Smiley https://nxtforum.org/general/nxt-forging-algorithm-simulating-approach/

Kushti: great to see you having a go at Scala-integrated Qora (and smoothing out a bug along the way). This is awesome to see other skilled devs improving Qora. Hope that you stick around and continue helping a bit!

If I recall from what I read in old Nxt discussions, TF was a necessary step for certain features to be accomplishable, like instant transactions.

One of the topics discussed before OS was if Qora utilizes transparent forging, that is a forger of the "next block" is known for all online network members beforehand. Kushti mentions some issues needing to be resolved (in NXT) before TF could take place. If TF is possible and not yet implemented in qora, could the forging algo be adjusted and would the community want to do this?

I should ask: what is really the benefit of TF?

Qora, please verify.  (This is to preempt any naysaying.)

Dear members, I have talked with Qora and from now on I will manage the non technical side of Qora, such as organizing, marketing, giving updates etc.

I have created a Slack group for Qora. Everybody who wants to be involved and wants to contribute or help where they can, please pm your email adres and I will add you to the slack group.

thanks

twistelaar will help with organizing these things.

Thank you qora for verifying this!
