I am trying to see if it is possible to raise $100 of Bitcoin by just doing advertising or promotional work for people.

It's very possible and you can make even more than that, not until then it now depends on how equipped you're and also what you have learnt to develop yourself into what people want that they will have to request for your service and pay you as well, so much on things you can offer and get paid in bitcoin.

I recently came across a website which said that they would pay up to $20 for writing a few paragraphs worth of positive reviews and promotions, but having contacted them they've not (as yet) replied - therefore I'm also trying to work out which sites are legitimate and will pay out and which ones are fake.

If you're contacting for possible offers, can i ask that from which site are you doing this, not everyone that gives you a task reward you deligently when the task is completed, know that the review you're also expected to give must be genuine and not fake.

I will donate the $100 to charity as well - I don't intend keeping it and I'll convert the Bitcoin to USD $
I appreciate it's a weird request, but I'm looking to do something fun and to challenge myself for a good cause - can I get Bitcoin by doing advertising and promotional work and use the amount raised to help a good cause?
And why not keep Bitcoin and gain experience first before investing in it? It is possible that through the $100 that you invested in Bitcoin, you can make good profits through it, and then you can donate part of it to a charity and part of it to keep for yourself; in this case, the benefit will be dual, it's just my opinion for you because it seems through your words that you do not know the great profitability of Bitcoin.

I appreciate it's a weird request, but I'm looking to do something fun and to challenge myself for a good cause - can I get Bitcoin by doing advertising and promotional work and use the amount raised to help a good cause?
Yes, you can, but you need accounts on social media that contain thousands of followers and be real not fake or bots, or an account with a good rank here in the forum, or you can, if you have skills and experience in any of the known required fields, you can create your services and publish them on the marketplaces for services sites.

The idea of obtaining $100 in BTC is easy for an experienced and skilled person, but you, being a beginner. Suppose you do not have any portfolio of previous work or skills. In that case, it will be difficult at first to take this amount, but learn and develop your abilities and skills, and with time you will be able to obtain this amount and pay it to charities or whatever goal you want.

If a person should come up with such a thread that means they are not well prepared to help or render free services to help the less privilege. Even at the cause of helping the poor we shouldn't neglect ourselves too. OP, if serious about the journey, would have made up some efforts he's done so far, not asking for the help of forum members just to make it known about his intention to donate his earnings to the charity homes. It is not easy to find a good paying job online, yet with dedication he'll get a job that'll offer him $20 according to his skills. So, announcing his journey here without a reasonable update of his moves doesn't show seriousness.

But then, people are always skeptical when newbies appear in the forum and keep stressing on charity. Most cases have proven otherwise.

Obviously, the sceptics were right, at least as far as this case is concerned. The OP gave up after a few days and has not been active here for more than two weeks, so I will continue in a sceptical tone, he tried to find a way to quick money all under the pretext of charity and donation.

Anyone who wants to donate or volunteer for someone's benefit must do it much more precisely and transparently, not just declaratively in order to gain sympathy from the crowd.

Goodnight, o_e_l_e_o 🌹
So, in short, you work for charity?

Why not then advertise or promote for free those good causes that you really want to help? That's a rather direct way of helping those good causes. Why not volunteer your time and effort to these good causes? You're not after Bitcoin anyway because you're planning to convert it to USD and even donate it. If you want to raise funds, I think these charities have also fundraising events. You might want to take a look at their schedules.

That Op want to work and donate reward to charity doesn't mean they should work for free. I think giving to charity implies giving to less privileged.
It doesn't mean working for Elon Musk and rejecting pay in the name of charity.
Op must have a specific group of people they target for their charity and not random kind of people.
But then, people are always skeptical when newbies appear in the forum and keep stressing on charity. Most cases have proven otherwise.

You don't have to announce that you will donate your salary for charity or anything else. Announce it now is like you are fishing merit.

not only fishing merit but also trying to find employer or something related because of His promised good deed in which for me ? mostly are just a promises to be broken , why not  act accordingly and try to gain and help without telling others.

Like what said as quotation   "Let not the left hand learn about what good deeds of the right hand"

but all in all if this is true and legit then I hope that OP will find ways to make money and help others.

but he will never gain a single merit from me as it is an obvious merit fishing .

Well, I'm going to continue with my usual skepticism with this kind of threads, in this case more, since I donate every month more than the one-time amount that the OP wants to donate and I'm not opening threads because of it. I donate in fiat, but I have also made occasional donations in Bitcoin.

This smells bad to me, or merit fishing or something.

If you want to earn money from this forum, then you need to rank up first, make a good post and get some merits, then join a campaign. If you got some skills and portfolio you can offer it to people in this forum too, create a thread about your service in this section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0,

Outside of this forum there are also some freelancing platform that paid in crypto like https://cryptotask.org/ and https://laborx.com/, they paid in altcoin tho, but you can use exchange to trade it for bitcoin later.

...If anybody knows of any businesses which will pay out a small amount of Bitcoin for doing advertising or promotional work for them, can they please let me know in the replies.  If a job will pay $15-$20 worth of Bitcoin per time, I'd be very interested...

Everything you write about is real. There are quite a lot of similar tasks on this forum in which it is necessary to make an overview of any platform, but I think that the services of a beginner are hardly needed there. Nevertheless, here is one of such Review Campaign, try - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/utopia-p2p-ecosystem-review-campaign-get-paid-in-btc-full-members-5425016

I advise you to find a job on freelancer sites. I saw that thousands of workers offered their skills and many of them already earn a lot of money. But to get new clients, you really have to convince them that you are the person they are looking for.

In addition, you need to have a portfolio of the work you have done so that this will make potential clients aware of your potential. Or you can make video tutorials and upload them to Youtube or other media sites that will pay you for the ads that appear in each of your videos.

I think you have to be able to find out what your passion is because if it's only based on all of our suggestions, you can get bored and have no interest in trying them one by one from what we suggest.

@OP since you've said that you'll just even convert Bitcoin into USD then why not just look for those freelance marketplaces where you can sell your services and get some $ for tasks that you'll do to the clients?

These basically are the freelancing websites where you can find some work and get paid later after fulfilling it and then just donate the money you'll earn from doing those.

Doing charity workforce is a great idea, you could try to create a thread where you offer yourself for some service in exchange for some satoshi, or you can contact some company that operates on Bitcoin and ask if they need some kind of service that you can provide .  I still wish you good luck

You have a good heart and has a best way of helping , but it will be best if not mentioning about where the funds will go because it only shows another plans of making the thread and the goodness of your intention is being questioned.

and also I see that you have created multiple post about finding job , is this really for funding in that donation or something that for your bread and butter?

I will donate the $100 to charity as well - I don't intend keeping it and I'll convert the Bitcoin to USD $

Donating to charity is a thing of choice and not compulsory so why stressing yourself if you don't have the means yet? Do you think by mentioning charity people will start patronizing your service without considering your qualifications? Do not put burden on yourself to make charity donation when you are still struggling to make ends meet. Work and earn in order to improve yourself first before thinking of charity.

with all of these promises? sorry to say but it is either a scam site or a shilling method to earn and let others to believe in wrong  things , please stay away in this kind.

It's very possible. Participating in bounty especially article writing can earn you that but only if your article is accepted by the manager. The issue is that some project will refuse to pay at the end of the campaign while some will not pay up to the agreed bounty pool and thereby leaving the hunters with a penny rewards. Reliability is not guaranteed thou but don't be in haste to tag it scam when you have no evidence.

Everything is possible, raising $100 in Bitcoin for Charity is possible and even more, if you start providing services to the audience or Freelancing.
You will be able to earn more than that and I am not sure, why you decided to give it all to charity, feels like you want a point to start earning and then keep it once the income flow starts.
Nevertheless, you can provide service to those who need and you will surely be able to earn money in BTC.

If am to get your whole idea here, you're interested in a charity act but don't have the money or means to make such donation and needs a job that can pay you some certain amount in bitcoin in other to help you accomplish your ambition, the first question to ask yourself too is that what can you offer that the people can have a take on and pay for your value or service rendered to them, additional to this, try check the service board, you may get some offers there.

I will donate the $100 to charity as well - I don't intend keeping it and I'll convert the Bitcoin to USD $

This one is left to your choice, you owe no one responsible for giving an account of what you use the money for since it's your hard earned money, you may only decided to share with us here about the progress in it so far so others could learn something from such experience.

I admire your intent to be doing something for charity purposes and I am sure that soon you can find a way to make it. Here in this forum there is a section for people offering services so maybe you can look for that also. Now, we also have many freelancing sites you can explore. Just be careful with some programs offering you some form of a "job" but is actually a paid program false marketed as a job opportunity.

You must have good CV to be hired. The competitiveness is not low because many free lancers, content writers are ready to do a same job like you.

If you want to find jobs in cryptocurrency, spend your time to look around.

Yes for me, as long as it's not fishy and you are not taking advantage of people, you will do it fairly and transparently.
Because a lot of people still don't know Bitcoin and some of their first impressions of Bitcoin is a scam or Ponzi. So first, explain how Bitcoin works and what is really your goal, and be transparent.
There are a lot of ways to earn Bitcoin by doing these some advertising or promotional work, some are called "offer walls" where your reward could be in the form of Bitcoin.

Don't engage in such things. You're basically helping them to scam people. Even if legit, $20 is way too much for tasks that can be done with bots. I've seen similar tasks being paid for $5/100 reviews on other websites. If you want to find a job with low requirements for this charity thing, try to apply for a rater position or something similar.

If you want to make money here, you need some time and effort so that you can at least rank up to a decent rank. Don't know if your goal has a time limit or not, but if you want to, you can try to contribute here and look for opportunities in the future.

Edit: I just saw your other thread. Just a suggestion,  if you want to promote that donation organization you can also put their link on your profile info.
