Tried your Nano BIOS right now at my MSI, the conservative 100/100 version.
Flashed, reboot -> Game over. No screen, no windows, 100% fan speed, thats all.
Flashed back the org. ROM after using dual BIOS switch at card, fortunately it runs again now.

So "thanks" for the fright and 1/2 hour wasted mining time. Angry

I had similar problem on one of my sapphire cards. I flashed the -200mV one. I had to use the bios switch and flash the -150 mV ROM. It works well now.

You must have done something wrong then.

I have flashed all of my cards (100) several times. So i've probably flashed over 300 times already. NEVER had 1 problem.

There are a lot of others here that are using my rom, ask them, they are running it and do not have any problems.

Before you start flaming, read the previous posts from other users and perhaps ask some questions.

I'm here to help where i can with what i can.

1. Flash the stock rom back to your secondary bios, boot it from there, see if it boots.
2. If it does. Good. Flash the -100mV core, -106mV mem rom and COMPLETELY shut down your system, do not reboot, SHUT DOWN.
3. If this does not work, then it's probably a faulty bios, but definitely NOT the rom! I do not know for sure, but it "Could" be that MSI is different, although that i seriously doubt that.
4. If it does boot, completely remove your drivers, (DDU "display driver uninstaller"), also remove any oc software like Trixx, AB, ...

If you have any problems, questios, just ask, i'm here to help.

Greetings

Edit: Reuploaded the roms with a not so heavy underclock on the memory part.

-100mV Core Clock, -50 & -100mV Mem Clock

Without mod, according to the OP:

"My nano rig (6 x Nano) would do around 170Mh/s "give or take" on Ethereum (stock settings) while pulling 6.8Amps from the wall!
So that's around 1500watt."

thanks - need just that confirmation before clicking that ENTER button to purchase some of these Nanos.

Btw, I know that OP using Sapphire and that works with mod, would other brands like XFX or Gigabtye, Asus be worth trying out?

I noticed there is no MSI for Nanos on Amazon or Newegg. Damn shame, MSI makes good stuff.

Hey Citronick,

Doesn't matter what brand you choose. They're all reference designs anyway. The only thing that differs is the Sticker on the fan. Smiley

I chose Sapphire because i got the best deal with them.

Greetings!

thanks - will report soon on 6 nano rigs under single 1600w using your mod - nothing aggressive but I want to be as near to the 180MHs mark per rig.

If you mod the AMD R9 390 memory controller voltage or the memory voltage with -150 mV, how much can you save at 1200 MHz memory frequency?

I will write my findings for the 390 mod later Smiley

Personal things are taking a lot of my time right now, will definitely report back!

usefull information to share with you...
I have a lot of GPU (nano of course) that works good with -175mv but 20% works only with -135mv. just one gpu in 6 gpu rig and all system is not stable and freeze. So... start from -135mv always! and than... maybe... lower Smiley
I lost two nights...

I should have mentioned that earlier.

I haven't had a lot of those problems though, i must be lucky i guess..

I had a few that were giving me some issues, like 2 out of 100. (I flash my cards remotely and only hook up a screen to install drivers..)

Ellovp,

is 8 x GPU possible under Ubuntu, using 1 x 1600 PSU, using that 3-to-1 PCI riser + 5 x normal PCI riser?

Should work with 8, check the Ethereum forums. "forum.ethereum.org

There's a few guys (at least one for sure) that are running 8Gpu's.

Ellovp,

is 8 x GPU possible under Ubuntu, using 1 x 1600 PSU, using that 3-to-1 PCI riser + 5 x normal PCI riser?

I tried to use 4x7990 or other combination of 2X7990+4X390. That is in Windows with 6 PCIE slots. I cannot go beyond 8 GPU.

Yeah, i have a few of those splitters as well, had issues with windows recognizing them. Windows kept seeing that splitter but not my gpu's.

I still have them, i could still try and make it work but haven't really had the time to play around with those things Smiley.

Maybe later.

Greetings

That is correct Smiley

Regarding the 390 rom, will update OP this week for sure! "Been updating some other things first.."

In posts before you've said that you was able to change memory voltage by software on 290-series card.
Did you mean memory voltage or aux voltage (vddci) that can be modded by Afterburner or HawaiiBiosReader?
If first could you please explain how did you change mem voltage?

Hey Rednow,

I was talking about memory voltage, not aux voltage.

But i thought it was basically the same as with Fiji, but it clearly isn't Smiley

I'll post some results later, have had a very busy week.
